ITS ABOUT TIME.

FINALLY COMMUNITY-LEADERS HAVE SHOWN SOME BACKBONE AND HAS RESPONDED TO A HORRIBLE SITUATION ON CLEVELAND'S EASTSIDE.

I'M TALKING ABOUT THE MAN WHO SHOT AND KILLED A TEENAGE BOY WHO HAD PULLED A GUN ON HIM IN AN ATTEMPT TO ROB HIM.

THE MAN HAD A PERMIT FOR THE GUN AND THE SHOOTING WAS RULED IN SELF-DEFENSE...BUT FRIENDS OF THIS  YOUNG THUG RALLIED TOGETHER TO VANDALIZE THE MAN'S HOME, SENDING HE AND HIS FAMILY FLEEING FOR THIS SAFETY.

THE THUG ELEMENT IS STRONG IN THE CITY OF CLEVELAND, AND THESE ACTIONS LEFT MANY WONDERING IF IN FACT THESE MISGUIDED YOUNGSTERS ARE TAKING OVER THE CITY.

A COMMUNITY PROTESTED, BUT NOTHING WAS DONE...JUST LIP-SERVICE..THAT IS UNTIL THIS WEEK.

THE NAACP AND THE POLICE UNION HAVE JOINED TOGETHER TO PROTECT THE MAN AND HIS FAMILY UNTIL THEY FEEL TOTALLY SAFE IN THEIR HOMES.

FINALLY SOME ACTION.

HERE'S THE DEAL, WE AS A COMMUNITY CAN NOT SIT BY AND ALLOW THE THUGS AND THE DRUG-BOYS TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE STREETS OF THE INNER CITY...WE MUST SEND A MESSAGE THAT WE'RE MAD AS HELL AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE...THIS STEP BY THE NAACP AND THE POLICE UNION IS A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

Where are these kids parents? Role models? So sad that these kids have no sense of morality, or know right from wrong!

I agree 100%. It is a shame where a man can't protect his home. It is like saying we should just step aside and continue to let ourselves become victims. Let's hear it for the the police union and the NAACP for stepping up.

Did anyone else think this was a gang related thing? I mean maybe they had words and the guy on the prorch won. But whatever the reason, no one should be driven from thier own home. I hope help is on the way. God's speed to all involved.

thanks

Will this poor man and his family EVER be safe in this community? When these thugs decide they want to do something, they will stop at nothing to get it done, even if it means their own demise.I'm tired of them.My teenage son has been robbed 3 times already in the last 2 months, and summer hasn't even begun.

Wayne,
I agree with you 100%. We need to make these criminals accountable for their actions. I also agree with Lt. Stacho when he said let the police officers do their job and for these knuckle heads to stop complaining when they are doing their jobs, and to stop making excuses for these "THUGS".

A proud Cleveland resident.

I guess the "people" that vandalized this guy's house would rather live in a neighborhood where they CAN'T sit on their own porches?
I'm glad the NAACP and the police union have decided to help his family. It's an absolute shame that he has to be protected from teh community ITSELF. Even as an optimist, I'm starting to wonder how much longer this country has left. These people that stick up for the troubled idiot who died stand directly in the face of all that could really improve their community, and indeed the ideals of America itself.

I also moved out of Cleveland because of all this nonsense...Where are the parents of these kids? Wake up!! Come on parents this is what happens when children are allowed to run around without supervision, without discipline...Complete and utter chaos! What happened to "home training"?

Moving out of Cleveland does not guarantee you complete safety. Murders, robberies, burglaries, vandalism, etc. happen in the suburbs too. Maybe not at a high percentage, but they still happen. The point is we need to make our comunity safe no matter where we leave and not let the thugs win!
