I see in todays news that one of Cleveland's finist was caught trafficing in drugs brought in from Mexico. There is a lot of media yelling about taking back Cleveland's streets and about the thugs who are going into the neighborhods and selling drugs to kids and others. I just wrote a blog about the knucklehead  who received 90 days for selling drugs and he deserves the time and he still has to face court on other adult charges and now I see that a person who is supposed to uphold the law and protect the citizens from those who are selling drugs is one who is enabling the same people in the drug trade by supplying them with the stuff. Police are not poverty stricken. He receives his check each week along with other benefits and has no excuse for being greedy and cashing in on the illegal drug trade. He would be highly upset if someone sold drugs to one of his family members and caused him or her to become addicted. And he had  better not come up with the lame excuse that he is addicted and needs to go into rehab. Since he is a sworn peace officer who should be held to a higher standard he should not get the Paris Hilton treatment. Got that union bob. Afganistan had a record year in growing morphine and other drugs and is putting most of it into the illegal pipeline. And 5.0 is waiting on the shipment and letting it through so that it can hit the streets and he can line his pockets while pretending to be mr goodguy. If you do the crime, then do the time. An attorney just got off with a light sentence from messing with drugs. Take back the streets, 5.0 supplying drugs, what is up with that?? People are upset about Michael Vick and his pit bull dogs and gambling, but I must say this, that dogs fighting do not take  nor destroy human lives. Drugs do!!!!!!!

I guess the DARE program wasn't a success if this cop dealing drugs on the side.

I wonder who had this cop on their speed dial when they needed some drugs?

This is completely mind blowing!! I know Z on a personal level; I would have never guessed in a million years that he would be involved in something like this. He is one of the sweetest most sincere individuals I have come across in my life and I have no idea as to what would possess him to do such a thing. He was always the stand up guy and sure he has his cocky cop moments but overall he was an OK guy. We all hear the news and are quick to make judgments but when you know the person it really hits close to home. To know him, break bread with him and then something like this happens?? All I can think about is WTF went wrong??? I guess it goes to show that you NEVER truly know someone and greed concurs all. Wow, who is next?? My Grandma??

It's so sad to see that illegal drugs have infested our society at all levels. The officers real crime was greed. There may be other motives, but it all comes down to making a profit on the side. I can forgive him, because I know that he was set up. Z was just a sacrificial lamb used to take the heat of the rest of the crooked ones that's been dealing for years. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that all cops are crooked, but they do have there share. Yes, I'm quite sure he's going to say he has an addiction. Hell, wouldn't you.

To all of you who say that you know Z and that he is a good guy, all well and good. That does not excuse his trafficing in drugs. An article in the PD told about his having part ownership in a trucking company, being part of a group which helped ship the drugs to various parts of the country. What ever you may say about him, it does not excuse him for aiding and abetting in the drug trade. He knows better and particularly being a sworn police officer. No! that doesn't make everyone who wears a badge a bad person, for there are many honorable law enforcement officers. If he needed the money, why didn't he turn in his badge, leave the area and then take his chances. Those of you who know him probably have not had your lives directly effected by the poison that he and his co-horts were peddling. I was a medic in the military and have seen what and how drugs may effect a person and their life.

To waterlover926. A sacrificial lamb???? No Way!! He is the sheepherder with a whip in his hand, behind the sheep leading them to the slaughter.
