IMUS vs. Freedom of Speech

Everyone is in an uproar about the comments that Imus made. I agree that the comments he made were out of line.

There is one thing that everyone is forgetting. We are americans and our first Constitutional Right  is "Freedom of Speech".

I AGREE!!! People need to GROW UP!! I own my own FEELINGS! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO AGREE WITH IT THEY ARE MINE!
I will give the U.S. 10 Years before they are telling me when to go pee!!!
Hears a Book for everyone: Everything I needed to know I learned in Kindergarten!!!! It is true !! If you dont like that one ReRead the comandments!!!! Then & ONLY THEN CAST THE FIRST STONE IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN A GLASS HOUSE! What do you think????

what we are forgetting is that imus is extremely liberal and the press is blowing it out of proportion. imus has done alot to further progressive issues. sure what he said was wrong,but is it wasn't like he pulled a kramer (who went way overboard). he made an off color comment...big deal. yeah this sucks because it perpetuates stupidity,but is it because he said 'nappy' or is it because he said 'hoes'? are whites not aloud to say these words? where are all the respectable black leaders when ice t, lil kim, 50 cent says BLEEP or hoes and bitches (remeber jesse jackson's heimey town comment?)? why isn't al sharpton getting his feathers all ruffled over each one of their *ahem* songs. don't get me wrong...what he said was wrong.. but i don't think he was being a racist. he was just being stupid. if the girls on the team were obese orwore glasses, he woiuld have poked fun at that. he was just taking a jab with wrongness. i hear people say wrong things every day but we don't call them on it "that's gay" "that's retarded" etc)


i don't think imus is a racist. he made an bad taste comment...like we all do sometimes, unfortunately...everybody has their moments...be honest.

i think he's a product of society who, if you listen to him everyday, does a lot of good for people.

Unfortunately IMUS may be finished! It must have been the nappy hair comment that was added to what was said that day, afterall sharpton and Jackson both have nappy hair correct and Sharpton is not proud he has Caucasion blood running through his vains, both are scumbags who would suck the very blood out of their own people to be in the limelite, tell me this is not true??? They say what they want about others and never-never appoligize, imus made a big mistake appoligizing on National TV to that PIG or should i say nig!

Sharpton wants Imus fired over his comments.
I don't see Sharpton or Jackson apologizing to the NC lacrosse team now that all the charges have been dropped. They wanted those boys linched and now that the truth has come out they have nothing to say. Besides Al Sharpton is one of the biggest racists out there.

I think the entire thing was blown way out of proportion...

But there is a fine line between freedom of speech and hate speech...legally that it is.

If you listen to the entire comment, it was a joke...a really bad joke...but a joke none the less. It wasn't filled with hate such as the Michael Richards thing or the KKK speeches.

My question is would we be hearing about this if a black person or hispanic person said something along those likes about a crackerass white BLEEP or something along those lines? I think not.

I'm tired of everything being about race/ethnicity. I don't like the kid who sits next to me in my public opinion class. He's rude, crude, annoying and just down right insulting. He happens to be of Arabic heritage...does that make me racist?

This entire thing was so blown out proportion...
