I recently heard a pastor say that global warming wasnt true, I couldnt get a chance to ask him why he said that so thought I would ask Andre, since maybe he could give us an idea why a Pastor might say this or if he knows something we dont!

Global warming, global cooling, may be part of GOD`s plan. Yes, he did entrust the earth to our` care, but we must determine wheather this is a natural happening, or is it man made ? We won`t be around to see the result, but we must be concerned for our` descendants.

Consider:

"Carbon dioxide is not to blame for global climate change," Sorokhtin writes in an essay for Novosti. "Solar activity is many times more powerful than the energy produced by the whole of humankind." In a recent paper for the Danish National Space Center, physicists Henrik Svensmark and Eigil Friis-Christensen concur: "The sun . . . appears to be the main forcing agent in global climate change," they write.

Given the number of worldwide cold events, it is no surprise that 2007 didn't turn out to be the warmest ever. In fact, 2007's global temperature was essentially the same as that in 2006 - and 2005, and 2004, and every year back to 2001. The record set in 1998 has not been surpassed. For nearly a decade now, there has been no global warming. Even though atmospheric carbon dioxide continues to accumulate - it's up about 4 percent since 1998 - the global mean temperature has remained flat. That raises some obvious questions about the theory that CO2 is the cause of climate change.

casey "Global warming, global cooling, may be part of GOD`s plan" it IS.............yes we should conserve, etc. but, only GOD controls our climate.

it is incredibly arrogant of us mere "humans" to even consider that WE have any control whatsoever.

If you want REAL information on global warming, ask a scientist, not a preacher!

Girlscout - "If you want REAL information on global warming, ask a scientist, not a preacher!"

Are you suggesting that men and women who have chosen religion as their vocation are unable to understand scientific subjects and communicate them intelligently?

Religious leaders study God, not global warming.
And....I'm not getting into this argument with you again, hybrid. Been there - done that....

i would have liked to have Andre's take on this statement. the pastor who said it was talking about something else and said "of course global warming isnt true..." used it as an example of false teaching, false information.
I beleive it is true, look at the dying polar bears etc, but whatever is causing it. It is part of God's plan either way, everything, wether we like it or believe it or not is part of HIS plan,
just wondered what Weather people thught about it.
Oh and by the way there are may Theologian Scientists out there and it is really interesting how science proves again and again intelligent design.( just a side note)

The 'Stranded Polar Bear' Global Warming Hoax.
The perpetrators of this want you to feel bad, and turn over your freedoms to pay for the sins of your Capitalist life style.

"it is really interesting how science proves again and again intelligent design."

To those with open minds, yes.

Hi underlady.
The Polar Bear is not dying off!
In the 1950 there were less than 500, now their population is in the thousands because the 'Eskimos' stopped hunting them for food and clothing.
The 'Eskimos' now eat prepared foods, wear 'Colombia' sports wear, use Honda engines on the fishing boats, drink alcohol, ride ATVs and cash their checks from oil companies. Take a flight from Fair Banks to one of the many little villages north of the arctic circle if you don't believe me, August is a nice time.
Where did you get the idea that Polar Bears were dying, Al Gore? He is just trying to get you to send money into his "Carbon Credit Offsets" scheme so he and his friends can take out 'management fees' for their work on the myth of Global Warming.
I use to live in Tenn. 15 years ago and know of the business dealings of the Gore family directly.
If you want to send your money to help plant trees, send it to Georgia Pacific or Plum Creek, they plant more trees than you can imagine and it's for the good of man too.

so the pictures of the drowned polar bears and stranded ones in national geographic are lies? i dont care about what the eskimos do, have seen and heard alot about their culture from several of our missionaries in that area. I am talking about the stories and pictures of the once plenty icefloes that the bears are getting stranded on and that they are far and few between so bears have to try and swim farther and end up drowning.

I think us trying to fix the whole global warming thing is like trying to fix a hole in a dam with duct tape, only going to be a temporary fix, when it is time for this world to end, it will and nothing Gore or anyone else can do will make much difference. but it is good to at least try while we are here.

now girlyscout, not nice. yes, she IS talking to people who actually make sense, without all the "fearmongering" from the global warming religion and all it's followers.

andre has posted a number of things regarding this udderlyalady, some interesting reads.......

IMO if you read the "unbiased" studies (and there are plenty of them) there is much evidence to deflate the hype that Gore and others have created.
They have proof of nothing, it's politically motivated....pure and simple.

Sorry, dprin, I believe in Global Warming. How much man has to do with it, is up in the air. There is plenty of scientific proof out there and Andre is only a meteorologist. It's also up for question whether there is anything we can do about it. But, it is still happening. My opinion.

"it is incredibly arrogant of us mere "humans" to even consider that WE have any control whatsoever"-Dprin

I have control over my bowel movements- and that is not arrogance. I have control over my personal hygiene- and that is not arrogance.

This is one of the most moronic statements I've heard in some time.

Udderladay- Why would you ask a pastor? Why not ask a scientist (at a college or university, like Akron or Cleveland State, or Baldin Wallace) about Global Warming.

Pastors are not experts in science.
