Seatbelt Law But No Helmet Law

I cannot understand the thinking of someone making a seatbelt law for motorist but yet those who ride motorcycles do not have to wear a helmet.Give me a break,are these people stupid or what???? I think my chances of surviving an accident in my car without a seatbelt on are a 1000 percent better than those on a bike without a helmet..............

Whether or not I'm wearing a helmet on my motorcycle does not affect your safety one way or another!!! You;d also be safer wearing helmet in your car that doesn't mean that you should have to wear one. Not only that but helmets are only tested up to 15 mph.

When are they going to make all boaters, jet ski and hikers wear helmets? It is none of you're business what we wear. What good is a helmet if you get t-boned by a car or truck? I guess you like reading the reports, Biker dies, but had a helmet on!! Find a true Campaign, something like, why did our Politicians strip us of the RIGHT to set off Fireworks on the Fourth of July, yet help promote AIR Shows that serve no PURPOSE and how many DIE each year? More than fire crackers killed.

Twistedsister, you obviously no nothing about motorcycling! The majority of motorcycle accidents involve leg injuries and if you are on the highway or traveling at high speed on a back road a helmet will make no difference, if you hit your head you are dead period! A helmet is just as much dangerous as good, they impair you peripheral vision, they impair your hearing and the way they sit on your neck, if your head takes an impact from the side it will snap your neck. The bottom line is, let those who ride decide, if you don't ride, mind your own business.

none of the goverments bussiness then if i wear a seat belt or not.If they can ticket me because they are worried about my life the same should be for motorcycle helmets to thank you
