Parents should be responsible for their children.  I experienced a situation where my child was at a slumber party and the parents did not watch the children.  The children went out and committed a crime.  Even though my son did not participate in the crime because he was with the other children I was held responsible.  This is the law in Brookpark, Ohio and I thought everywhere else.  I had to make several court appearances and pay restitution for my son.  There are more instances involving children committing crimes in the Cleveland area how can they not hold the parents responsible?  Parents should make sure they know where their children are and what they are doing at all times.  I learned my lesson.

I think what they are trying to accomplish is the parent will be held criminally responsible. As of now the parent is only held financially responsible. So if there is jail time etc. the parent will be in jail. Parents have always been financially accountable.

Parents have to take responsibility! I don’t understand the debate? I think the real reason some parents are afraid of this new law is because they now have to be real parents! Think twice before you have so many kids if you can’t handle what you got now! Let’s not forget, this law is aimed at repeat offenders. It takes about three times before they take action for the same offence. I just can’t believe it. Did you see that lady in Maple Hts, Won’t take responsibility for her Child and now her parenting! She acting like she some damned movie star at court. If she put as much effort into raising her child as she put into the way she dressed, she wouldn’t of been in court!

Question: If my dog took a crap in your yard, I would be fined up to $500.00 If Kid did the same thing. I'm not resposible?
