With this smoking ban there are going to be so many losses for everyone in the state! Ohio CANNOT afford to lose any more income. Our economy is bad and people are losing their jobs right and left and companies are closing! Now what? Well the state is going to lose more money from the loss of smoking and people are going to lose more jobs! There should be some kind of compromise with this ban the smokers shouldn't have all their rights taken away and the non-smokers shouldn't have all the rights. It should be up to the establishments who allows it and who doesn't. I am sure there are going to be all types of lawsuits coming about over this law and I am sure it will be on the ballot again! I hope all the smokers go out there and vote! This is Ohio people we need the income from smoking! We are surrounded by the tobacco capital of the United States and they expect this law to fly?!?! There is going to be a lot of issues when the law goes into effect. This law DOES strip all of the right away from the smokers... They are taking all the ashtrays from all establishements. I thought we were allowed to smoke as long as the smoke wouldn't enter the building. The truck drivers are going to be irate about this since they can't smoke in their rigs! Now all the non-smokers will be complaining about all the piles of cigarettes outside the establishments! Well even smokers for that matter! That is just disgusting. I did vote and I am a considerate smoker (or at least used to be). But if I smoke and I am outside and there is no ashtray I will throw it on the ground! This part of the law doesn't even make sense! You can't smoke inside and you can't have an ashtray outside either? That is a total loss of rights!!!! As I said earlier Ohio CANNOT afford this law. From the owners of businesses to the local governments to citizens There is no money for the governments through this ban, the businesses will lose money and the citizens will lose jobs! Wake up this is Ohio we need all the money that we can get right now!!!!!!

I understand that the man is 92 and very sick. He was sentenced to 5 years felony probation for killing 10 people. That is a little scary to think that a person would only get 5 years probation for killing 10 people. My question is how could he not know that he was barrelling through the flea market and sending bodies through the air? He mistook the gas pedal for the accelerator but wouldn't you think he would figure it out after seeing that he was hitting people and not keep going for 2 1/2 blocks? I do agree that sending him to jail would probably kill him but after all what did he do those 10 people that were innocent bystanders? What is he actually going to pay for doing the crime? He probably won't even make it through his probation and can't pay the $90,000 fine since he is confined to a bed now. I love the elderly population but I think he should have to give some type of sentence for killing 10 people.
This is why I think that people over 75 should have to take a test when they renew their licenses to make that they are safe on the roads!

All the non-smokers who voted for the smoking ban... Who do you think funds the stadiums, sports, arts etc. Whats going to happen when the smokers go out of state to buy cigarettes and won't generate the tax money to fund these things? The price of a lot of things will skyrocket and you won't be able to afford to do them. Then it would be hurting everyone not just the smokers everyone will suffer from that! Next time you visit a sports arena thank a smoker that you won't allow to smoke in public places!!! When the taxes stop rolling in and prices go sky high or smokers stop visiting the establishements and your favorite places close down what will you say about that?
What about the fact that i have been reading about only 20% of Ohio smokes? Where did they gather their info? No one has ever taken a poll with me? I have NEVER been asked if I smoke or not for any type of poll! Like I have said before I really would like some rock solid proof that second hand smoke causes cancer! As far as I know there isn't a test to tell you where you got the cancer from so how do they know it came from second hand smoke?
Hey I think they should do away with the Concealed Weapon Law and totally ban guns they kill more people with proof of what killed them!
HEY IS THERE A PETITION STARTED ANYWHERE TO HELP US GET SOME OF OUR SMOKING RIGHTS BACK? I WOULD LOVE TO SIGN IT!
