Since Mark Sharpiro has now traded CC Sabathia and Casey Blake for minor leaguers that only the scouts for the Indians have seen (except for Dan LaPorta which I seen three years ago when he was on the USA baseball select team) how do we know much about these players other than what is on the internet?

So, that makes me wonder if the Indians have any scouts in the New England area that watches the Cape Cod or the New England Collegiate baseball leagues or the independent baseball in the region?  If they don't have anyone here...I'll volunteer for the job.  I do go to watch Keene play and see scouts there...and the SF Giants must of had a scout watching some Nashua Pride games last year to pick up Olmo Rosario and a pitcher for their organization after the season last year.

Well, there is the NFL season coming soon and hopefully the Browns will build on last season...and hockey is coming soon as I'll go watch Lewiston on September 28th as they will be in their second week of regular season play.  I hope the new players for the Blue Jackets will make them a better team...hopefully Jonathan Sigalet will make the team since he would still be in Providence waiting for a chance in Boston.  At least I have something to look foward to since the Indians are doing auditions for next season.  Why else do they still have Andy Marte and Jhonny Peralta anyhow?

Peralta is fine, he's been hot since they moved him into the cleanup spot. As for Marte if he doesnt show he's ready for the big leagues now that he's been given another chance, he'll probably be gone.

The never ending story: next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, next year, yawn.

Hello you all, my name is Karl. I think that you all have forgotten about what a great season the Indians had last year. I personally feel that if Travis was not hurt in the playoffs last year in the playoffs we would have won it all. I would assume that the knowledge that you all have about baseball that you would have predicted the better than average season the Indians had last year. There is no correlation between the next year comment and the truth whatsoever at all. I personally enjoyed last year watching the Cleveland Indians play. I do agree that this season with the Indians can easily be written off as saying that they may win it all next year. That would be providing that they get healthy and the trades that they got pan out. I for one can’t wait. Until then God bless you all and have a great day, Karl.

Yes...it is Matt LaPorta my mistake. And yes I do remember last year and how everything clicked. When you go into the off-season and don't make a lot of changes in this era, you get left behind which that's what happened to the Indians.

I was born and raised in Ohio and graduated from Ashland High School. I'm a big Cleveland sports fan as well as the Columbus Blue Jackets. I keep up with the Indians and the Cavs on WTAM. I also love reading online newspapers as that is the main way I keep up with what is going on in Ohio. I am a conservative that relies on websites like the Ashbrook Center and talk radio to get most of my news of the day. I live in Derry, NH; and work at a postal facility in Nashua, NH. I go to Manchester, Providence, Pawtucket, and Portland, Maine; to watch minor league baseball and hockey to relax and to see the future major league baseball or hockey players.
