Being in New England now for over 10 years, I have seen some of the most unpredictable weather anywhere...except along Lake Erie.

Of course, it really doesn't where I have lived in my life, when there is a watch or a warning being posted by the National Weather Service, there is a reason why they do so.  Its not to inconvenience anyone, just the conditions are to where there is a strong possibility for a severe storm.  However, you always have those who end up getting injured or die because they didn't take the necessary steps to protect themselves or others.

I know all the weather people that I have watched over the years do the normal speech to inform the public, but there are always those that don't listen and get hurt or worse.  So please when there is a storm coming, be aware in what you should do so you don't get hurt.

Thanks for that Tom!
Being one of those 'weather people' I appreciate you putting these comments out here for everyone to read.
And don't forget even if a storm is not severe with no warning attached to it- thunderstorms produce lightning which is always dangerous.
For more on this check out Kevin's blog.
No thunderstorms for the next few days- enjoy the nice dry air!

Thanks Cindy. I just have been around various areas during my life and have seen a few of the really good weatherpersons like Dick Goddard in Cleveland when I was a kid and when I was in Corpus Christi, Dale Nelson was the best, especially in using the data to know where a hurricane was going to hit the Texas coast. Of course, when they gave the watch or warnings from the National Weather Service, you listened.

However, you could always go outside and look around to see if there is dark clouds looming...especially in the daytime. At night, its tougher, however, you can find batteries at a dollar store for a dollar or a bit more.

I was born and raised in Ohio and graduated from Ashland High School. I'm a big Cleveland sports fan as well as the Columbus Blue Jackets. I keep up with the Indians and the Cavs on WTAM. I also love reading online newspapers as that is the main way I keep up with what is going on in Ohio. I am a conservative that relies on websites like the Ashbrook Center and talk radio to get most of my news of the day. I live in Derry, NH; and work at a postal facility in Nashua, NH. I go to Manchester, Providence, Pawtucket, and Portland, Maine; to watch minor league baseball and hockey to relax and to see the future major league baseball or hockey players.
