As we continue discussing different sources of energy...the one source that have almost dissappered from this country but not other countries is nuclear energy.  I read a paper yesterday by veteran journalist William Tucker on The Case for Terrestrial (a.k.a. Nuclear) Energy.  I won't write the whole paper here, but you can check it out at www.hillsdale.edu/imprimis.  He makes a strong case of why we should go back to using more nuclear energy.  During the course of the paper, he discusses the different fossil and alternative fuels and their main problems.  He also discusses the objections to nuclear energy like Three Mile Island and Chernobyl in Russia.  His opinion is that we should go back to revisit building more nuclear power plants as a viable source of energy.

I strongly disagree with Nuclear Energy proponents!

Nuclear Energy doesn't contribute to Global Warming/Greenhouse Gases- but it causes a whole different set of problems like Radiation, Increased Cancer Rates, Meltdowns, and storage of radioactive material.

Its fine if we discuss it, but first we should put our efforts into Solar, Wind, Geothermal, Hydroelectric, Biomass and other Clean alternative energy sources. If those aren't enough THEN we should start talking about Nuclear Energy.

I think that you should read the paper first before you make your biased opinion on what you want first.

I was born and raised in Ohio and graduated from Ashland High School. I'm a big Cleveland sports fan as well as the Columbus Blue Jackets. I keep up with the Indians and the Cavs on WTAM. I also love reading online newspapers as that is the main way I keep up with what is going on in Ohio. I am a conservative that relies on websites like the Ashbrook Center and talk radio to get most of my news of the day. I live in Derry, NH; and work at a postal facility in Nashua, NH. I go to Manchester, Providence, Pawtucket, and Portland, Maine; to watch minor league baseball and hockey to relax and to see the future major league baseball or hockey players.
