The 111th Congress will go down in history as the do-nothing Congress.  The latest thing that has nothing to do with the major problems of the nation is Senator Spector's inquiry about the "Spygate" tapes.  With the problems of the war against terror, the economy, and other pressing issies, Senator Spector decides that destroying of tapes is more important than anything else.  I guess when you hang around Senator Reid and his buddies too long, you really don't feel obligated to work for the people that elected you to office.  Also, Congress should really leave the steroid in sports alone since they couldn't care less until its an election year anyhow.  Why should we expect the career politicians to do anything for the people since there is the McCain-Feingold incumbant protection legislation that keeps them in office anyhow.

how sad and pathetic that WE pay them to do nothing but waste our time and money.

Actually, I prefer Congress does nothing. That way my freedoms and income are not taken or given away.

Nancy Pelosi is a real numbskull! What's even more scary is this: If our President and Vice President are both assassinated, Pelosi is next in line to be the leader! Now how scary is that? She hasn't helped out my State of California in any way either...no, she is not my rep...I'm in Southern California...she represents Northern California. At least when the Republicans had control, Dennis Hasterd had the sense enough to keep things going, whether you agreed with him or not.

And Senator Harry Reid is from Area 51! May his brain got too much radiation treatment!

Now, my congressman is Ed Royce (R-Fullerton CA), and he is getting fed up with what is going on! By the way, Royce did something good for a Veteran who is dying of cancer caused by Agent Orange. If you click on next to my avatar, you can read the blog, and see what he did for his family.

By the way, how is Congressman Dennis Kucinich doing as a rep?

Just remember now, your opportunity awaits in June! It's time to do some research on your Congressional Representative, and see the voting records. Then take action and vote! Then come November, vote again! Just get out there and vote!

casey, if i remember correctly, our PRESIDENT does veto alot of the crap the dems put in front of him because they throw in alot of other CRAP that doesn't belong..........pandering to THEIR special interests.......and they know he will do so, up front. they are setting HIM up by headlining with some legislation that suppposedly "helps" the poor & then burying in it alot of crap that doesn't help anyone except themselves and their "buddies".

this has been common practice for many many many years. this is nothing new. and almost EVERY president has asked for & never gotten the right for a line item veto, either he signs the whole package or nothing. if the dems felt that helping the "poor" was so important, they wouldn't throw the extra crap into their bills, or they would garner the support needed to over ride the veto. neither of which has happened to our PRESIDENT yet.

It DID happen to Clinton though, when the welfare refoms bills were vetoed by HIM numerous times, finally the congress (republicans & democrats alike) over rode him & forced it through.

That piece of legislation has now forced thousands of men to actually support their children & forced thousands of women to actually co-operate as well. Resulting in thousands and thousands of children being taken care of by their PARENTS rather than the government, which is as it should be.

"Anytime you with-hold information which could be a cover-up from the people you profess to serve, that`s a serious issue"

again casey, PROVE IT!

You sound like the "doubting Thomas"! You always say "PROVE IT!" In the immortal words of "The X-Files" - "The truth is out there".
Unfortunately, we do not all have the time to research the proof. I guess we individually research the truth or proof of subjects that really concern us.
And as to the commenting of "padding Bills" - everyone does it. Democrats and Republicans.

yes girlscout, they ALL pad their bills...that's what i meant by "common practice".

my comment to casey is the usual. he believes one thing and i believe another.

dprin - I love ya` but you never cease to amaze me with your` defense of that piece of garbage that you insist on trying to cram down our` throats as being OUR president. The needless deaths he has caused and the disrespect that he has earned for our` country is unforgivable. As for " taking care of their` buddies",that is evident every day in the news. Now don`t say " PROVE IT ". The proof kicks us in the head every time we turn on the TV or pick up the newspaper. Even members of his` own party that are not profiting from his`being in office are disgusted at what`s happened to our` country. I CANNOT acknowledge a person who tramples on our` system of government as being my` president. I saw what he did in his` first term and DID NOT vote for him the second time around. I state once again, the growing chorus of the people of The United States of America. " HE IS NOT MY` PRESIDENT !"

okay casey, we again, like frienemies (lol) agree to disagree. i'm not saying he's a GOD, or anything like that, but again, until he is PROVEN beyond a shadow of a doubt that these things are true about him, i shall NOT judge MY PRESIDENT!

now put that in yer pipe and smoke it! LOL

The smoke from somebody`s pipe has been clouding the political scene for seven years. By the way, thanks for not saying " YOUR` PRESIDENT ".
Love Ya` - Casey

dprin,

I stand with you...innocent until proven guilty! And I lean toward the innocent even under the alleged circumstances; I happened to meet President Bush's sister Doro Bush Koch in 2006 when she did a book signing. Many people asked her the questions that are running right now in these blogs. As a result of her answers and her sincerity, I am leaning somewhat toward Bush being innocent.

Mystere - If your` brother were president, would you say anything that was duragatory about him ? I think not. Look at the world situation and what`s going on in our country. 2+2 still=4 ! What ever happened to the honesty of " The buck stops here !", as applied to the presidency ? How many more needless deaths and White House bungles is it going to take to make a believer out of doubting Thomas`s in this country ?

casey my friend, mystere makes a very good point i never though of "innocent until proven guilty". that is one of the cornerstones of our legal system. Why doesn't that apply to everyone?

Doro Bush did bring up some situations which did show the personal imperfections of her family members, so I thought she was being a straight shooter. She did bring up an important point too, which is the safety of every citizen on our soil, something which every president must think of. Many people asked her the same things you are asking, and I saw nothing in her demeanor that would indicate she was hiding anything from us. I happen to work in the media, and I have learned to watch people's body language to sense if they are hiding something...at least with Doro Bush, she didn't have anything to hide.

By the way, if there are some people in government whom I think are shady characters, I will put Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi on top of the list - not because they are Democrats, but because of the way they have conducted themselves. There are 2 Republicans no longer in office whom I've also considered shady: Bill Dannemyer (who left for family reasons) and Bob Dornan (former Congressman in Garden Grove California) who took 2 political beatings - and I say well deserved beatings - from Loretta Sanchez.

For some reason, I think Hillary Clinton is the one behind the scenes who caused the mess we're in...she had more to gain this year, knowing that Bush could not get a term after this, and that Dick Cheney has no desire to be President.

Hillary hasn`t been running for president for seven years, so how is she to blame ?
Dprin - Think about it. Nowdays if you`re charged with something, aren`t you guilty UNTIL you prove yourself innocent ?
In " Dubya "s case, the evidence is everywhere. Character witness`s are bailing out wholesale, His` case sure doesn`t look good.

Hiya` betterdays. President Harry S. Truman took us into Korea on 9/30/1950 at the request of the govt. of South Korea. The war lasted until 9/30/1950.
2/7/1965 - LBJ takes us to war in Vietnam after attacks by the Viet Cong on the U.S. compound at Pleiku. " We cannot be defeated by force of arms . We will stand in Vietnam." LBJ- 6/28/1965 " America`s longest war ", ( so far ). It lasted until 1975. America also protested this war and they were right. 6/14/1972 George McGovern, Dem. advocates immediate withdrawl. President Richard M. Nixon ends war 6/29/1973. The last troops left Vietnam on 4/30/1975.
3/18/2003 - George W. Bush commits aggression for the first time in American history and pre-emptively invades Iraq under false pretenses. In spite of the outcry from the American people, The carnage continues today with the result to be compared to Vietnam.
In regards to respect for the president, it must be earned. It is not bestowed with the title. As for a picture of George W. Bush, hang it in the bathroom, in case you run out of toilet paper !

I was born and raised in Ohio and graduated from Ashland High School. I'm a big Cleveland sports fan as well as the Columbus Blue Jackets. I keep up with the Indians and the Cavs on WTAM. I also love reading online newspapers as that is the main way I keep up with what is going on in Ohio. I am a conservative that relies on websites like the Ashbrook Center and talk radio to get most of my news of the day. I live in Derry, NH; and work at a postal facility in Nashua, NH. I go to Manchester, Providence, Pawtucket, and Portland, Maine; to watch minor league baseball and hockey to relax and to see the future major league baseball or hockey players.
