I want to first say that my intent is not to offend anyone but  that this is just my own personal opinion about the upcoming election. I would like to challenge anyone, of any race, as I pose this question. I am a black female and I do not support Obama. I am getting sick and tired of "others" assuming that ALL black people will vote for him. At the same time I am tired of mostof  the black people ostrasizing me for choosing NOT to vote for him simply based on skin color. There is a website( not naming names) but I was critisized  rather harsly for not sharing in the"black" point of view. Whats up with that? Im sure that most black supporters who support Obama will dislike my attitude and consider me anti-black. Thats not true because Im far from being racist or anything close to it. All Im saying is people need not impose their political views onto others surely we wont agree case in point you do you and let me do me but dont say my way is the wrong way simply because I dont agree with the rest of the crowd. Some people  are running around here talking about CHANGE,  yet they cant even accept anothers point of view ( beknowst to others also known as "having those diffrences"). Lastly, we all know The United States has had bad history but thats just what it is bad HISTORY. Nothing will ever change  the Slavery, the Holocust, and all the other past events that has been inflicted upon the US,these events TRULY happened!! yet  in still some of us need to stop blaming others for it didnt change things then and it wont change things now and even if blame were by someone, or anyone accepted it now people still wouldnt be  satsified. So you just cant win.

You made some very good points.
I happent to be white, if I vote for a black candidate, am I anti-white? I don't think so. My vote is never based on race or gender.

People also assume every Democratic woman will vote for Hilary because she is a woman. This is not true either.

What IS evident, is that we can`t stand 4 more years of what we have just had to endure.

Truely, it can get much worse! Bill Clinton proved that!

What i don't like are the people who are just voting for him because he is black.i actually took the political match survey and to my suprise at first i was matched with a republican then after doing some research on some of the questions i wasn't that familiar with i took it again and i was matched with obama 75%. i don't think it's anything wrong with you not voting for him if this is not the canidate that fits you, but i do have a problem with people who don't for him just because he is black and vice versa.I honestly don't like any of the choices but my choice is obama simply because he shares some of the same views as i do, even though one of the biggest issues is the universal healthcare and i do not agree with either canidate on this issue

sxybrown it's great to hear your thoughts. i too believe that everyone is entitled to an opinion, although on these blogs you get blasted for having one. it's nobody's business who you vote for, if they ask and you choose to tell them, they need to grow up and deal with it.

you should choose who you want to vote for by finding a candidate that you believe will do the right thing.

shadow...blame clinton for whatever you want, but the economy was good then.

lastly, there should be no black or white point of view, we're all americans, let's get on with it.

You better believe the economy was good then. The conservatives were NOT able to subject the working man to surfdom like these last seven years have done. When you have experienced two opposites, it doesn`t take a rocket scientist to tell the difference.

GARNER173~ great question are the views of his pastor(obama) the same as his own? Im not one to critisize but you have to wonder about that.

CASEYJONES38~ I agree with you 100% but lets choose our candiate based on knowledge and how they will benefit this country not by the color of their skin or how everyone else is voting.

THESHADOWKNOWS~ Surely you can reconize that you cannot place blame on ONE man specifically Bill Clinton,Im sure that most of our presidents have gotten their hands dirty in The White House, not to mention how is blaming him going to change things now?? Its going to take longer than 4 years to clean up this mess

SINGLEBUTMARRIED~ I hear your argument and I respect that. I too took that test and right so came back more Republican than either Hillary or Obama, so where does that leave me in making my decision? Im not ranting and raving on Mccain either, however unlike most people I choose to research each canidate on my own and then make my OWN personal decision. I also believe that you wont like everyhting about one canidate but again its a personal choice and its yours to make.

Skybrown - I hope you didn`t get the impression that gender or race would influence my` vote.
I, also want what`s best for America. After what she has had to endure over these last seven years, she deserves the BEST that we can give her. Regardless of you`r party affiliation, Help Lady Liberty back to her`feet !

I get what your saying about everyone is entitled to their own opinion and you can vote for who they want to.

What I can't get my head around is that the only reason you gave for not voting for him is because he is black. Here is what you wrote:

“I am getting sick and tired of "others" assuming that ALL black people will vote for him. At the same time I am tired of most of the black people ostracizing me for choosing NOT to vote for him simply based on skin color."

It would be nice to know what your reasons are for not voting for him, other than the fact that he is black and your tired of others assuming that because he is black you should vote for him. Is your vote against Obama your desire to be different? I would love to know what your point of view is about Obama.

What about him, the candidate, that makes him not get your vote? Do you not like the platform that he is running on or what? Give specifics about the candidate.

Without this very important information you’re coming across as shallow.

MOMMIEGRANDMA~ Ok,here I go tryin to justify my reasoning. Let me clear things up before some people take my comment and run with it. Honestly, I have not made a decision as to who I will vote for, November is a long time coming. Furthermore, I desire to be noone but me and if it means you like it cold and I like it hot then so be it. This isnt about trying to be diffrent its about making a well informed choice. I simply said I wouldnt vote for Obama purely on skin tone alone this seems to be a gray area for most when asked why they WOULD vote for him.

Ok, so my point of view on Obama is while he may give a good speech Im still not convinced of his sincerity to represent this country. He has a pastor who makes racial statements against others yet he talks about unity among the people. How is it that you can belong to a church and engage in bibilical conversation with a pastor such as that?
Lets say for the sake of argument the pastor's comments were distorted that still doesnt say much for the congregation. You also have to wonder after worshipping for so long with a church like that if some or any of this rubbed off on Obama, that I question.
Then there is this issue about holding your hand to the side while the entire nation is watching you NOT pledge the flag, whether thats true or not( thats where being informed about the facts plays a part in my future vote) I sure as heck dont want a President who doesnt want to represent the country by at least acknowleding the people and what that Pledge represents.

Lastly, as I mentioned neither of my views are in synch wit

cont; with either candidate. I support captial punishment, pro-life and neither of them support those issues.

On that note nothing is set in stone. I hope that I clearly up my previous statement with regards to my decision. In the end its still my decision the least we could do is agree to disagree but to resort to name calling, etc is just not acceptable. People want change and unity well they can start with respecting others and if you cant say something nice then dont say anything at all.

I find it refreshing to read your post.

I found it quite astounding that 85%+ of African American Males and Females voted for Obamam.

It was that much of a landslide!!? You usually see it broken up in 30-60, 40-50, maybe 30-70 range, but that big of a gap is kind of ridiculous! You don't see 85% of white women voting for Hilary, do you?
And unfortunately, I do believe that it was based on his ethnicity.

Thank you for using your head, and beliefs when voting, and not just your eyes. Regardless of who you vote for, everyone should do it for the right reasons. Not because of gender, ethnicity, or the shirt they wear.

BELIEVELAND3~Thanks for the compliment, however I wont take all of the credit, because guess what most people CAN actually have a discussion and respect the(difference) opinions of others, as you can clearly see that in most of these posts/comments. Now,I find that refreshing!
