I just want to let you all know that there are so many families out there that need a lot of help due to being flooded out. Many families have lost everything including their homes and cars. I have heard stories of men and women who can't get to work because they have no car to get there and no clothes to where. These peoples lives have literally been washed away. Shelby in Richland county and Findley are two of the hardest hit areas but there are others hit just as bad. These families need money, food, clothes, furniture, towels, personal items, medications and just about anything you can think of. Just look around your home and see what you have. This is what these people need. Don't forget the pets. Help out these people and pets. Give to the animal shelters and Red Cross to help them. They may get some assistance in the future but they need to live right now. Most insurances will not cover their homes and cars. Please help out with whatever you have to donate.

sweetamishbabe...do you know if the Red Cross picks the items up or do you have to contact them? We are in the process of moving and I want to get rid of everything and buy all new things. Including all appliances and misc. I would love to help in any way we can.

Survivormom,I could use a fridge and some furniture LOL. It's good that you are thinking of the people in need. Alot of people are just way too greedy and try to make money anyway they can and never think of those in need.
The kids and I just donated $50 of school supplies to their school. Wish that I could do more but we are just getting back on our feet with my husband back to work and now a new car.

Bless you survivormom and sweetamishbabe and who ever thinks of the people in need.
Wish there were more people like you.

survivormom, I really am not sure how the Red Cross does it but I do know they use to collect the items. I know you can donate cash to them for the flood victims. We went through Shelby the other day and there are so many people who have nothing left at all. If you can't get any information from the Red Cross by calling them I suggest calling the Shelby police department and ask them where to donate the items. Their number is 419-347-2242. It is so nice of you to think of them. These people need everything.

I am a wife, mother and grandmother who loves the Lord. I also love my country. I believe in fairness and justice for all races and religions in America. Many of us Americans are of mixed races and religious backgrounds, that is what makes us Americans.
