Do you think McCain and Obama should suspend the race and go back to the senate to hammer the problem????

I read that some may think Obama would look like a follower "I wouldn't " This would prove to me that he would be willing to work with both sides, I feel the debate could wait a week, put differeances aside and come together.

But I don't think Obama will do this because as I said before he is self centered.

super, he has said he won't. he has decided that "hearing from the next president (ie: rhetoric & baloney) is more important"

of course it's more important for obama to keep up his campaigning than it is for him to go to Washington and put Country first.

he's a narcissist...........this will be VERY bad for him.

McCain / Palin COUNTRY FIRST!

Obama still said he is going on with the debate, I guess he willk put a mirror and debate himself.

He will just look like a fool, He feels it should be - Obama first and the country's financial security last.

Hell, we're only talking about ONE TRILLION DOLLARS, folks! Hussein says in so many words and actions that this is just CHUMP CHANGE. The CHUMPS are all of Middle Class America. The truth came out today that if Hussein is needed or "IF HE can be of help", he will return to HIS JOB as SENATOR. Don't bother Hussein, you will never be NEEDED. The TYPICAL PEOPLE that you hold in disdain will see to that! We are now being told that this BAIL OUT is also to help ILLEGAL VERMIN in this country and Mexico. Surprise _ SURPRISE_ I say NO BAIL OUT_ No HUSSEIN- No AMNESTY _NEVER

I was watching the news today and Obama actual reply to McCain’s Request was as follows.”Why not do both” Lets go fix the problem in Washington and also still continue with the debate as planned. He went on to say as a President or leader of a country one needs to be able to handle multiple problems at a time, not drop one to fix another. I’m not an Obama supporter but do agree with that logic.

gangster, the theory behind that logic is sound. but, it's just theory.........there is NO WAY that this is going to get done in ONE DAY.........and he knows it.

he doesn't really give a CRAPPPPPP about what should or should not happen, all he cares about is himself & his "WIN" he's made that crystal clear

Dprin That Maybe true, but I don't try to get into either one of the two candidates heads, their not worth my time or effort. But I certainly do agree, whoever is elected better start learning how to multitask and stay up late to get SH!T Done in the mess of an economy.

My toilet is full of the same stuff Obama talks.

I can multi task also but sometimes COUNTRY IS FIRST.

What will it hurt if they pushed the debate up, Obama didn't want to do town hall meetings and now he says the debate should come ahead of the American people.
Can you say arrogant

Kind of off the topic, What do you guys think about this bailout? Do you think we should pay for it or let them sink? Also, How do you think allowing them to sink would affect us dollar wise compared to paying for it in a form of bailout in the long run?

Running for President is a problem??? you can't be real, I have 700 reasons they should drop what they are doing and go to Washington.
Running for President isn't a problem it's just a goal in life.

That isn't off subject, it is dead on.
I think the Government should take over the Morgtages but let someone else take over the companies or just let them fold.
The people should come before these compaines and who ever cooked the books should go to jail and all of their assets should be taken to pay off the companies debt.
All the loans should be fixed at 6.5% and the intrest can pay the Countries bail-out.

What I heard President Bush say:
We want to bail out these Compaines so people can get more loans!!!!
Has he lost his mind???? People can't afford what they have now and he wants to make it easier to get more credit and alot of people will jump on this and go bankrupt later.
I thought the bail out was to help these people not hurt them.
Now I would have to say no bail out and ride the wave I am glad I don't have a loan through these lenders.

I'm just wondering how much more we will be taxed with the war, economy, and now bailouts? I'm real worried how this will play out on us and our economy? As you, I also have children, I worry for their future. How much more debt can this economy endure?
Superbrown, I feel the same way you do about the bailout but do not know how it will affect us if we do go ahead? I also don't know how it will affect us if we don't? I’m lost for words and Ideas.

Bush is between a rock and a hard place.
I wouldn't want to be the next President for all the money in the world.
Now, you all know that I am not a fan of Bush! But really, what else could he say? He's afraid he'll go down in history as the President who was in office when the US went into a financial collapse. SOMETHING has to be done. I like your plan, superbrowns...

Some of those CEO's were paid in access of 70 million dollars a year! Now they need to bail out? Wow Only in America, Sounds like welfare for the rich. I pray if this bailout goes through, those CEO’s GO to jail or at the very least, Go broke also. They better not still be there after we have to flip this bill

"Now, you all know that I am not a fan of Bush! But really, what else could he say"

I think that's very true. Sadly the only person who isn't playing politics with this situation is Bush himself. As for McCain's stance on suspending his campaign and requesting a delay of the debate, I think I see it as a little of both, politics and duty. Honestly, if this situation is as bad as advertised (and believe me it's actually worse), then we need a guy like McCain who notoriously works with both sides in the game. Not the candidate McCain who is hugging the party line, but the Senator McCain we've known for years who is respected by everyone in congress.

I consider it unlikely that this bill will be done by Friday and frankly I think they need to take their time and be VERY careful with it. I find it rather sad that some folks are still playing politics with an issue that could become one of the defining moments of our generation in this country

I would pose this to everyone. Would you rather Obama and McCain take an active role in fixing this crisis, or would you rather listen to them talk about foreign policy? I'd prefer to think they were doing the job we're still paying them for.

Just a bit more....
Certain bailouts are necessary. Some aren't. AIG was necessary in it's ties to global insurance markets. AIG serves over 74 million people worldwide. It touches so many different markets (auto, mortgage, life, health, annuities, retirements, etc) and on such a large scale that it's collapse would have decimated other businesses as well. The governments $85 million dollar investment in AIG will bring PLENTY of profit once AIG manages to sell off some of it's more lucrative assets. I don't like any bailout but this one at least made some sense.

The other bailouts are poison to this country. Again, I refer any of you to my last blog. The US dollar faced a 6% decrease in value over the last week. That's why oil went up again. 6% is STAGGERING. That decrease in value is because the US Fed will be forced to print close to $2 trillion in new currency with these buyouts. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Again, look at the increase in hard asset values. People are scared to death of our currency now.
This has the potential to be 1929 but worse. In 1929, our currency was liked to gold...now it's just paper. Also, we were energy independent in 1929, now we are foreign dependent for energy. We had industrial strength, now our industries are closed and the strength belongs to the asian market. We are not structured to recover from a stock market crash any longer.
The bailouts are a roll of the dice. If they fail, we'll be devastated for a generation. If they succeed, we may only be staving off the unstoppable. WE HAVE TO RESTRUCTURE OUR

They should investigate both Chris Dodd (Democratic chairman of the Senate banking committee), Barney Frank (House Financial Services Committee) & Charles Schumer as they were part of the problem, and they pushed Fannie and Freddie to approve mortgages that they new were a great risk
