I'm at a loss for words on this!!! is this the best choice for McCains running mate, I read her bio and it's very short. We have been slaming Obama for lack of experience and McCain picks someone with even less experience then Obama has.

Will Palin be able to fill the shoes of any Former President, you have to look at all sides here I know anyone could be gone at anytime but is this the best he could come up with a "beauty Queen" do you know how many women are haters of this type of women, she is no Hillary, and have you seen the type of women that supported Hillary.

Palin holds a  bachelor's degree in  journalism from the  University of Idaho, where she also minored in political science.

Palin does have a few pluses in her favor, she goes against the grain, she cut government spending, she gives the money back to the people, she is pro life, and from what I can see she holds true to the promesses she makes. BTW she will know how to walk the stage

Time will only tell.  VOTE McCain........

Hey super. this choice definetly took me by suprise and i honestly think he did it to say hey look at me i can be different too!lol. which is pathetic to me, i believe he overlooked alot of people who could of brought more to the table but he wanted to stand out. i am still waitng to hear more from them though, i believe the next few months will be very interesting.and even though at this time i am an Obama supporter i told you of my republican views and there are still several issues i don't agree with obama on, and depending on what mccain has to say at the RNC i mat have to rethink my standing!hmmmm...Palin looks nice and has a few things going for her but until the other day..didn't even know she existed so i think she has alot to prove to people who are still undecided and there are alot!!

Bill Clinton was only 46 (two years older than Palin is now) when he was first elected as President, and Sarah is only running to serve as the VP right now.

She has more than 8 years in governing experience alone, running both her city & then her State. This is a woman who got herself elected Mayor, then cut her own salary as well as property taxes by 40%! She served 2 terms as Mayor, leaving only because of term limits. She later ran for Lt Governor & lost, coming in 2nd in a 5 way race.

When she was elected Governor, that billet included a private jet that she decided she didn’t need, so she sold it on eBay. As Governor, she went overseas last year to Germany & Kuwait where she met with members of Alaska’s National Guard. Her oldest son is in the Army, and deploying to Iraq early next month.

It will be very interesting over the next 2 months to see the Democrats trying to explain why she’s not ready to be Vice President, while Barack Obama is ready to be President and why Joe Biden represents “change” in Washington, but she doesn’t!

I have researched Sarah Palin and she has accomplished some very interesting things that I like about her. She stood up to corruption in the Republican party and brought down some very powerful State players. She cut property taxes when she was mayor. She quit a job making $100,000/yr because she could not continue to work for corrupt politicans.

These things I like about her and I think she is working with the wrong person... McCain. And because of her political ethics being so strong I can see problems between her and McCain. I would be surprised if she stayed on the ticket. McCain is using her just like he used Hillary in those ads, he will do anything to get elected. He is pandering to the female voters, which I think he has now added insult to injury to Hillary Clinton. If by chance McCain does get elected I am willing to bet that Sarah Palin will not be sitting at the table where the real work gets done and decisions made. Especially, because of her high ethics, she may bust them and bring down the National Republican party.

You think she’s working with the wrong person – gee, that’s a real surprise! In reality, she’s working with exactly the right person because she’s a young maverick, and McCain is an older one. They both have gone head to head against their own Party to fight for what they thought was right, but can you give me even 1 example of Obama bucking the Democratic Party on any issue in his brief & unspectacular time in the Senate? I’ll bet that you can’t!

You’re also wildly delusional if you think that Palin is going to all of a sudden drop off the GOP ticket, and pass up the chance of a lifetime that could put her on track to become this Nation’s 1st female President. She’s beaten the odds all her life, and defeated incumbents to win election as both Mayor & Governor. She’s not one to be underestimated, as Joe Biden may learn the hard way in the Vice Presidential debate.

“No way, no how, No McCain.” – mommiegrandma

Thanks for weighing in with your opinion, Hillary!

You're welcome on the opinion Hacksaw. Yes, I liked what Hillary said, no way, no how, no McCain. lol

Hacksaw the big difference I see in McCain and Palin is that McCain never brought down his own party. He bucked policies and voted against their policies but he never did what she did.

She brought down almost the entire Republican Party in Alaska, the Party Chairman, the Governor and the Attorney General.

I'm not saying she was wrong in reporting the corruption, but what she did is a stark difference from McCain.

I am also bothered by what she tried to do as Governor to her former brother-in-law and then fired his boss because he would not re-open the case against the brother-in-law because the case was closed and settled. The bother-in-law got a suspension and a reprimand for his misconduct dating back to 2005. His boss said the brother-in-law a State Trooper had an impeccable record since 2005. She may have abused her power, which is what she accused the Alaska Republican Party officials of doing, plus having a conflict of interest, and not following the Ethics Law. I see mixed messages and behavior that benefits her.

If something happened to McCain I would feel she is not trustworthy because power corrupts and her track record in these situations give "me" cause for pause about her.

No, you are bothered because Sarah Palin personifies what Barack Obama claims he is: an agent of change who can shake up the good ol’ boy network in Washington, and she has already demonstrated that she can govern effectively, and achieve positive results and real, lasting change.

Barack’s about talking, Sarah’s about doing and the more America learns about this pretty young butt kicker, the more they will like her and you’re just frightened that she will help McCain’s ticket & election chances a whole lot more than Biden will help Obama’s…..

hacksaw, again, excellent points, all of them.

werner, HOW is the choice clear? how about some details?

many of us conservatives have asked this question repeatedly, & get nothing but more oblahblah rhetoric...........are you up to the challenge? can you actually answer the question without the rhetoric? i think you can, you're a pretty smart cookie.

What change? how? when? who's paying for it? what exactly is going to change & how? how is the messiah going to make this happen? who is going to help him?

What is clear about McCain? Why don't you tell us the specifics about his position on issues? Oh, I forgot he has changed them so often you don't know which ones to mention.

He was for immigration then he was against it, he was against Bush tax cuts and then he was for, it was against off shore drilling and then he is for it... and the beat goes on and on.

We don't need to answer any questions for you dprin... you don't support him so your questions are disingenous and what you think don't matter. Obama has given us what we need in order for him to gain our support and that's all that matters. You listened to his speech at the convention didn't you? Therefore you have your questions answered. You think you can bager us into giving you talking points because regardless of our reason for supporting him, you will tell us it's not. So save your so called "tuff talk" for someone who gives a damn.

I apology Wernerd630 for jumping in on the question dprin posed to you. She has issues and all she does is attack Obama supporters with her hateful rhetoric.

It does matter to some of us that is why it is in my pay grade to vote McCain,

Only people that THINK they are above everyone uses that phrase, I didn't even have to wait for the debates to make my choice, I was really hoping we had change in hand but it was left empty
