I understand some people are going into foreclosure because they lost their jobs or they have a flexable percentage rate and their mortgage went up, and with high fuel prices and increases in food prices.

What I don't understand is the thinking of some home owners, there was an article in the paper yesterday on people just walking away from their homes and they are not even in forecloser, one man says he walked away because the value of his home is droping in price and he's just  throwing good money away. at least sell it and cut your loses.

What the heck are people thinking, are they stupid, what logic is this??? don't they even care about their own credit.

Would you be willing to walk away from your home, I'm sure renting would be a waste, would someone rent to you after leaving your home, some home renters do credit checks.

There was a song out a few years ago that went, "The world is full of stupid people..."
It's true...

I saw a story about this a few months back on CBS News. I would hardly call them "stupid people". Many are poor people with families trying to get by. They get trapped in these predatory loans with no other way out.

I agree polarbear! No one knows anyone's situation, or what is going on in their minds. We just can't assume all the time.

They might be smart if they would have never applied for the loan, and believed what the loan officer told them.

Goats that you milk, chickens that lay egg's that I sell as organic to city folk like you , I also buy half cows and half pigs I pay 3.00 a pound across the board for ground beef to london broil, t-bone steaks, What do you pay, I grow my own veggies and can, how much do you pay.

super- I think alot of it is just down right " laziness" the book of Proverbs calls them " sluggerd"- Americans want it easy and fast! no hard work, no priority lists,no backbone to "do or die",but man can they be heard saying " give me, help me....."now i don't think its wrong to ask for help- unless your doing NOTHING to work out your problems, not working a steady job, doing drugs - extra-
but now adays they want it all for nothing- every one is feeling the crunch- but you don't quit!

I've struggled and done without more than I can count! at one time I worked making $4.00 an hour in a donut shop- my #1 priority- my mortgage payment, #2 my dogs food, #3 water bill( thirsty & bath needs-LOL)- I parked my car- couldn't affors gas & car insurance-I walked every where I needed to go- even work. I had shut off the gas & electric for the summer- till I found a better job- & it took me looking for it! but I never missed a payment- nor did I or my dogs go hungry!

I see, If you don't have a real answer you just babble,

Do you buy your veggie's from the local store or a local farmer, it does matter, and it would explain alot......

I like to brag about my veggie's when most people get sick from ecoli from the market I never have to worry about it. and I love meat and fish, did I mention my pond is stocked with bass, another thing I don't have to worry about is polluted waters...

You know something, I am on Social Security Disability, I am on a land contract, and make the mortgage and ins payments every month. My income is very limited compared to those that are able bodied to go and flip burgers to make some kind of an income. I also own a car, not brand new but none-the-less I own it, I have so many luxuries, with a limited income, and still people no matter what their situation is are losing their homes due to "predatory lending", laziness (by sitting on their butts and not attempting to get a job if they lost one again flipping burgers might not be the best job but it does pay a bill or two), or they just don't care anymore. I just don't get it.
