Hi everyone

I'm just trying to understand women a little better and it seems the older I get the less I understand their thinking.

Our General Manger was thinking about going to a 4 day work week, 10 hour days, the operators that run the machines which are women don't want to do this and one said her back hurts sitting all day, another said she has to pick up her 16 year old son from school, one of these women misses at least one day a week anyways so what would be the problem here, can any of you ladies out there tell me why someone wouldn't want 3 days off.

Someone came up to me and said maybe they have a family and they have to cook,  I'm thinking!!!! SO WHATS YOUR POINT YOU WOULD EAT AN HOUR LATER.

The plant manger was only thinking that he would try and save everyone a little money on gas and save the company alot of money also.

Most of the women are not married that don't want this, do you think they are bitter old haggs.

One lady told me it's not her falt I live so far away and I wanted to say It's not my falt you have to work because no man wants you....

doesn't THIS just figure............lol

your boss should just choose, based on what's best for his BUSINESS..........and if the ladies don't like it, TOUGH!

there's always at least ONE employee in every organization that thinks: what's in it for me? i think i know more than the boss, the world revolves around me, the company should revolve around me, gimme more more more, but i don't want to work for it. blah blah blah

it's the difference between "labor minded" and "company minded" the biggest problem with "labor minded" is they don't have a clue that the better the business does, the better the employee's do as well.

keep pushing the 4 10's super..........and keep making sure the boss knows that you are "company minded"......

sooooooooooo true dprin, This would be like giving yourself a raise.
Times are a little rough these days and you have to cut back a little on everything you do.
I would also like to have an extra day off a week I could get alot more done here at home, you would end up getting alot more daylight to work with.
I will keep pushing for it.
I'm also going to see if he will let me do four 10's anyway.

You will never get al employees in ANY company agreeing on the same thing! Everyone's schedule is different, kids coming home from school, etc. And as we get older, superbrowns, we DO have more aches and pains. Maybe you are younger than most of those woman and don't have arthritis or a sore back yet!
But,yes, the company will do what's best for the company, as they should.
As to the title of your blog - YOU NEVER WILL! LOL!

I'm not looking to be nice, they are not nice to anyone there.
I blew out two disc's in my back in 87, and my lower back is always in pain, no matter if I sit or stand, age has nothing to do with it, they just want to piss alot of people off, they are as I say HAGGS.

They do this at my husbands company(2nd shift). My husband said the guys that do it love it.
I guess it depends on the person.

superbrowns - you are a good friend, but don't get mad, I still think it's disrespectful to call all the women you work with "old hags". Call me old-fashioned....
And that's what I meant wannabequeen - what works for some, might not work for others. It DOES depend on each person's lifestyle.

Being a married, full-time working mom, I would JUMP at the chance if my employer would offer 4 tens! We've all even tried to get him to do it, but he won't (darn). These women have screws loose or something, I swear!

It's a CHANGE and employees will most often resist CHANGE! Even change that is good for them. Ten hour workdays are long days AND they screw up holidays and such because holidays are eight hour days. Keep things like that in mind. Sick days if you have them are eight hour days. If you should need to use a vacation day for some personal business and you have eighty hours of vacation to start with now you'll only have 70 hours left but it's still only one day on your calendar. Vacation time only works out on a ten hour day if you use all of your vacation time at once.

My significant other's workplace went back to an eight hour day after trying the ten hour day.

Captain, don`t let it get your` GOAT ! ......LOL !
Seriously, I think once this is implemented, everyone will adjust to the advantages both free time wise and more efficient to-and-from work travel time and cost. They will end up lovin` it.

When I was dating 100 years ago I treated the ladies with respect(LIKE GODDESSES), I'm married and the only lady that gets that treatment is my wife now, I would respect them if they wouldn't down men In front of me, I don't know if you worked with women in a factory but most(not all) of them are bitter they have to work because they pick loser men.

Casey, I'm just pouting LOL, I don't think it will happen, because the manager is bowing to them, and I realy don't know why he is because the ladies always talk bad about him.

In my time on this earth I have found that Change is almost always resisted. I think it's a natural reaction for many to automatically reject change. However, I also found that when change in implemented, people will not only adapt, but also find positivity in the change. I agree with dprin-399, "your boss should just choose, based on what's best for his BUSINESS..........and if the ladies don't like it, TOUGH! After all it's the business that feeds the people. I'm shocked that you made that last comment. I thought you were better than that. Shame on you superbrowns.

you are correct waterlover......the change is what's being resisted.

my suggestion to your boss is to tell everyone we are working 4 10's..........if you don't want to, then work 4 8's...........but we are still going to be closed on friday's (or monday's)........and leave it up to them

i would bet that these people will jump on the 4 10's because they are losing 8 hours if they don't.
