I was reading the paper yesterday, Front page Candidates plan for health care.

Under Clinton's plan Americans would be required(forced) to carry health Insurance or face fines and penalities, this means all would have to pay for it "yourself" no matter how much you make.

Obama's plan is much the same however he would require coverage on childern, and not adults thus still having a high price on coverage because some still will not pay the bill.

McCain's plan wants to cut out the employer's pretax offer to employee's and make the employee's pay taxes as if it was part of our salary, he would give tax credits of 2,500 for single and 5,000 for families

Now all this sounds a little wild, I just hope that they look at what these providers are charging so they can keep control of it, with my health coverage, you may as well say I already pay for mine but if this all happens this will be one less benefit an employer would have to offer.

I can see why the Employer wants to get rid of paying for health coverage, it costs and drives up the price of operation of their company.

I'm not sure how any company can really complain about higher prices of anything. Anytime they receive a hike in what they need for there product they just raise the price so the consumer has to pay the difference. What comapany do you know of that actually pays for the price hikes themselves?

none of them, they raise their prices to compensate, my concern is competing with the foreign market. Alot of American companies eather move over seas or just close their doors because of the hikes on everything they pay for.
We the employee's who are the consumers end up paying for everything, we get hit on both sides of it.
I wanted Government help on price gouging that the providers do, not what the canidadets want to enforce.

American companies are at a disadvantage in World Markets, because the U.S. does not have Universal Health Care, and companies from Europe, Asia, Japan, Australia and other parts of the world do.

So to compensate, American companies need to attract workers so they offer Healthcare coverage- which eats into profits and leads to cuts in the number of jobs and the pay and other benefits.

American companies are increasingly asking the federal government to start a Universal Health Care program, so they can reduce costs of doing business and make competition with foreign companies that don't have to worry about health care costs more fair.

Yes, KLH, you are correct. That is why when these Liberal candidates talk about “taxing corporation” they show how ignorant they are. You cannot tax corporations. They will pass the tax to the consumer. I know that some (Liberals) get some satisfaction out of this, but in truth, taxing the corporation doesn’t help anyone but the government, who deepens their own pockets at out expence.

Dprin – “gorbash, that last statement about american companies ASKING the govt to start health care is absolute LIES!!!!”

Not totally my dear. Gorbash is partially correct. American corporations have actually requested this to some extent. General Motors is the biggest but there are others. The big Corp I work for is working to push retirement health benefits on to the Government (Medicare). It looks like they want to start small, and work up to the entire benefit being supported by the Gov.

Hybrid Talk is correct (that's a first) and what may seem like a few companies finally getting it (the problem of unfair competition in the global market) more and more companies will start to push for this in order to stay competitive with foreign companies from countries that DO have universal healthcare.

" can see why the Employer wants to get rid of paying for health coverage, it costs and drives up the price of operation of their company."

Just more proof why we need Universal Health Care. Employers should not have to pay for this, the government should be responsible for providing its citizens with health care.

NO NO NO guys, YOU will have to pay for it, TAXES. out of your own pocket, which I already do. and you will be forced. what use to be a benifit for the companies to offer are now a burden, what will a employer have to offer, no pensions, no health care coverage. World trade is dragging our country down, not health care.

superbrowns - "NO NO NO guys, YOU will have to pay for it, TAXES."

Correct. Free health care is not free. Does anyone know a doctor who works for free? How about an RN? Are medical buildings leased for free?

The government will tax you, like they do in other socialist countries. Expect to pay a LOT more taxes. My friends who live in other nations that are socialist tell me they pay ober 50% of their earned income to the tax man.

Also, if Hillary and/or Obama plan on new taxes for energy, so we will be taking it in the shorts even more at the gas pump.

Finally, the government will be back in control of our money, as they prefer it.
