I went without a house phone for several years. When the price of my cable and internet went up.. I didn't see the need in paying for 2 cell phones plus a home phone...

When twc gave me a "deal' I signed up for the digital phone..

I'm had my home phone turned on almost a month now.. Almost as instantly as the phone was turned on-and it's the number twc gave me, not a typical area number with a prefix like I'd get from the phone company... The phone started ringing with a 216 number..

The caller ID showed up "Delcom Inc". I went online and did some researching... Come to find out.. It's the plain dealer calling to get you to subscribe to their paper..

I've seen dozens of reports from people saying that no matter what they tell them, even when they are on the "do not call list" this delcom inc refuses to stop calling. They have called me 2-3 times a day since my phone was turned on.

Apparently delcom inc is an advertisement agency.. so I'm assuming the plain dealer must have a contract or something with them.. Pay them to have their workers call people to get them to subscribe.. even when you tell them you already have a subscription, they continue to call...

Anyone have any ideas how to stop this?!?!?!

Just heard the voicemail about ODOT and Ashtabula.

I would HOPE ODOT is doing A+ work. The ODOT headquarters is right off route 11 and Seven Hills Rd.

As I live off Seven Hills Rd. I can tell you honestly that my road is always nasty.

The roads are much better now that ODOT has made their home here though.

I can't believe this is an issue.

If you don't believe in spanking, that is your choice. Respect the differences in parenting.

There is a huge difference between spanking and child abuse.

My dad spanked me. Not very often but believe me, thinking about getting a sore butt kept me from doing a lot of stupid things.

I always thought before I acted.. Would this upset my dad?

Now kids have no fear of consequences. Nothing stopping them before doing anything.

Government needs to quit trying to tell parents how to raise thier kids.

If my childs school allowed the paddle, believe you me, I'd sign the consent

Am I the only one thought did a double take at this?!?

Reports were coming in that Prince Harry was going to do some time in Iraq.

Next thing you hear, the Prime Minister of G.B states they are going to pull their troops out of Iraq.. So does this mean he's not going anymore?

As much as I don't want anyone occupying and losing their lives in Iraq.. I just thought this was a little "fishy".

Does anyone know if he's still scheduled to go to Iraq?

I'm not fully understanding the new credit program from Bank of America....

I can understand making it somewhat easier to give credit to those who have difficulty with their FICO scores.. but to allow persons without social security numbers access to credit? I just can't figure out why they don't believe this would not be fuel for illegal immigrants??!!!??

Is it not every single American Citizens right to have a social security number? When our children are born, do they not get issued a social security number? When you become a legal citizen, do you not get issued a number? That number is needed to hold a legit job.., Everyone who works pays into SS..

Why on earth would someone with no social security number be allowed $$$?

I just don't get it!

Although I'm pretty upset that my morning ritual of The Tyra Banks show has been interupted by The Morning Show and The Robin Show, I did happen to hear part of the segment with "Dr.Bob" on Robin's show today..

Dr.Bob wrote a book and basically claims the reason kids have ADHD/ADD is because of what they eat, especially trans-fat.....

I was under the impression it was the fast pace of society and the desire to have good quiet children was the motive behind so many doctors prescribing ADHD/ADD medications...

I also wonder if people realize that one of the side effects of all these drugs used to treat the disorder stunt growth.

As I actually believe there are kids who truly have this condition, I think it's waaaay over diagnosed and too many children are medicated and snowed for no reason.

Anyone have any thoughts?

The last post on a blog I made, made me think....

If this is wasn't what we heard everytime Mr.President opened his mouth.. Maybe we'd have more respect for him....

*Disclaimer-These opinions are coming from a nurses stand point and a mothers stand point*

http://www.askdrsears.com/html/2/T022400.asp

"To get milk from the breast, baby must coordinate tongue and jaw movements in a sucking motion that's unique to breastfeeding"

"Babies suck from a bottle entirely differently. Thanks to gravity, milk flows from a bottle so easily that baby does not have to suck "correctly" to get milk"

I know the gal thrown off the plane was nursing a much older baby...BUT I also wanted to point this out...

http://www.ncsl.org/programs/health/breast50.htm

"Thirty seven states allow mothers to breastfeed in any public or private location (Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont and Virginia)."

The gal was thrown off the plane in VERMONT.. which means.. by throwing her off the plane.. they broke the law.. The law that protects women and allows them to breastfeed in any PUBLIC or PRIVATE location.

When was the last time you visited the mall food court and took your 4.00 meal and sat in the bathroom and chowed down?

Do you do that frequently? So why should anyone expect me or anyone else to go take our child into the stinky bathroom so they can eat just because YOUR wandering eyes can't handle looking at a little skin... You see MORE skin on the cover of magazines, tv commercials, tv shows and heck, even girls walking past you then you do when someone breastfeeds!

And children.. FORBID your CHILD see a baby drinking breastmilk! I understand its rather difficult when your child asks "Mom/Dad what are they doing?" and you say that's how some babies eat!

And what about breastpumps? Novel idea! As the above referenced links from Dr.Sears points out.. BLEEP confusion can be a real problem... So mothers are sapposto purchase a breastpump (they arn't cheap!) and attach herself like a moo cow to a pump and sit there and pump away for what could be 45mins to an hour to hopefully get enough milk to feed their baby 1x out in public so they don't run the risk of offending someone who has no problem looking at breasts in a sexual way without offense.. but gets bothered by a peek of flesh with a baby attached!
So I guess they are also on a time budget because after that first bottle is gone they have to hurry home and hope that their baby doesn't now reject their BLEEP since they were spoiled with the lazy bottle BLEEP..- this is why the law was made! To protect women from being pushed into stinky bathrooms, removed from public places and from being kicked off flights!

Breastfeeding is NATURAL.. News Flash.. That's what breasts are made for!
Do you know how much tax dollars would be saved if breastfeeding, which is free, less hassle, requires no bottles, and is better for mom AND baby were more encouraged?
Do you understand how much money the state pays for, for formula via wic? 9-10 cans a month per infant.. And the price ranges around 26 dollars a can.. Do the math!

It's too bad "it bothers" people to walk passed someone who is breastfeeding. Formula hasn't been around forever.. so how do people think we all got here?

Really grinds my gears!

The the notion of re-instating the draft on the news today.. It really got me thinking....

It rubs me the wrong way the people who are FOR starting up the draft again are just so conviently over the age for the draft..and it makes me wonder if they were even old enough to serve in the war when there was a draft....

The other thing that got me thinking.. 18 y/o men are required to register with the selective services... Women are not.. so if they restart the draft.. that would only apply to men right? Doesn't seem fair.. especially after the women fought so hard to get into the military...

I'm thankful for what the troops do.. but I can't help but feel that inlisting in the services is a suiside mission..

Bless the troops!

I see the heat is still on with the smoking convos..;)

I saw alot of talk about people "going out of state to buy their cartons, taking away money from the state"

and then others in disbelief that people would waste their gas money to drive to buy them...

Well.. I can't believe nobody has touched on this...

I just got a flier in the mail the other day.. Advertising cartons of Marlboros for 16.99 with free shipping...

Yes.. I said free shipping!

Folks, people don't have to drive out of state to buy their smokes.. They have them delivered right to there doors! with FREE SHIPPING!

I remember a year or so back I was talking to a few folks at a bar one night, and I noticed their marlboro pack looked a little funny.. at a closer look, 1 side was English, and the other side was Russian... Yeop.. You guessed it.. People are buying smokes and having them mailed directly to their doors from Russia..

Illegal? I'd assume.. But is that stopping people? Don't think so.
I feel bad for the people in cuyahoga county...
Did we ever get confirmation on cartons going up 3.00 for the new arts and culture tax?

And smokers... lets try to go a lil easy on the anti-smokers.. It wasn't too long ago when our "luxury" taxes went up for "luxury" services... like ladies getting their nails done and so on and so fourth.. Everyone is paying for those increases.. The smokes arn't the only thing getting taxed!

I took my son with me today to go vote.. he's 1.
I sat at a table and filled out the bubbles with my pen.

There was an incident that happened at my voting place.. I felt pretty uncomfortable and was about to call the police..

Luckily the older volunteer gals got it under control.

I think it's pretty sad to say I think they need some sort of security at the voting places... There was no one to be seen except for nice older ladies.. had a problem really happened.. I don't know what we would have done..

Rumor mill has it, another voting area near me.. A gal was arrested because she didn't have a drivers license and they wouldn't allow her to vote without ID.
She left kicking and screaming and spitting on people..

Crazy times we're living in.

Rock the vote Ya'll..

Was happy when G.W.Bush nominated Harriet Miers for a seat on the Supreme court.

Sits on both the Senate Judiciary and Select Intelligence committees..His votes protect President Bush from being investigated for domestic spying and passing the USA Patriot Act.

July of 2006- His campaign began airing tv commercials depicting a smoking WTC.. The senator was notified the smoke was blowing the wrong way.. Which his campaign admitted it was a still photo that had smoke digitally added.

Dewine has also been criticized on the issue of national security.. Bob Geiger states Dewine has missed nearly 50% of the comittees public hearings.

Info taken from here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_DeWine

Please forgive me. I was just looking for basic information on what both candidates stand for.. and to me it appears about.com did a great job of highlighting Mr.Brown.. and Wikipedia did a job of making Mr.Dewine look bad..
