Last night I attended a board meeting for the Parma City Schools regarding the closing of three elementary schools and consolidating the School District. Although it is unfortunate that these schools have to close, it financially makes sense. I've been to numerous board meetings, prior to an issue being on the ballot for an upcoming levy, and residents have voiced their concerns about not giving the district any additional money because there are other ways in which the school district can alocate funds, and ultimately the levies fail.
So know you have a district, which is lead by a intellegent superintendent, that goes back to the drawing board to find a solution that works (because voters refuse to pass levies), and yet there is still an outcry against it. So the levy won't pass and "Option A" is being challanges as well. People need to make a decision. Pass the levy or close the schools. I'm sure the kids will be fine.
And one last thing in closing. When a board member is under investigation for corruption, I really don't think his "opinion" on how a school district should be ran or managed should really matter.

Parma. It's sad to hear that another drunk chose to drive intoxicated and hit a guy and a girl on a motorcycle, killing the guy. What's even more disturbing is that the drunk fled the scene with the bike entangled in his bumper. Another disturbing fact is that the driver of the truck has had 5 DUI's and had no driving restrictions noted on his license. How does this happen? Unfortunately this idiot will be put thru a trial, plea bargin to a lesser crime, and serve very little time for his actions. Instead, I propose that everyone who rides a bike, climb behind the wheel of a F-150, and get a chance to runover the drunk.......... Maybe people will finally learn that drinking and driving don't mix. If you have to drink and get drunk, either stay in your trailer or call a cab.

It's not a wonder why people can't afford gas; they're spending all of their money at garage sales! It's amazing how people can complain all day long about the cost of fuel but all you see on the "News" blogs are Garage Sale Postings. I don't think people are walking to these sales.....
