rjl2621's Thoughts

Let me start off by saying that I am happy for Charlie for being traded to a good, solid team that he can play with. Good for him!

Now, to all of you out there calling for Brady Quinn to be named the starter -- ARE YOU CRAZY?? Do you want our second 1st round QB draft pick to turn out like the first?

So now it is only a matter of time before you all get your wish and Brady will be tossed in for his NFL debut where he will perform miracles for a game or two before he will have taken so much beating from the opposing defensive lines that he will end up like all other QB's for Cleveland in recent memory. Great.

I guess Cleveland should start scounting the college teams now for the next round 1 QB that we can draft and effectively ruin the career of.

Look, I have always been a Browns fan and I always will be. But when is the front office going to learn from the mistakes that have been made in the short history of our expansion team? Next they will be firing Romeo Crennel when the Browns' problems have nothing to do with Romeo and EVERYTHING to do with our ineffective (and frankly non-existent) offensive line.

The Browns front office needs to wake up and begin managing this team like many of the other teams out there who make progress from year to year rather than going backward. There is no excuse for how horrible the Browns played on Sunday against the Steelers. In my opinion the blame falls squarely on the players -- especially those on the offensive line -- that didn't do their jobs.

Only in professional sports can you collect million-dollar salaries and stick around when you aren't doing your job. (Or maybe it's just with the Cleveland Browns) This isn't a QB thing or a head coach thing -- it is quite frankly a performance issue with our offensive line.

You can't expect everything from these guys though because there are a lot of rookies and relative inexperience on the line. Only there does coaching come into play. But what about the offensive lines coach? What is he doing? He should be cracking into these guys for the horrid performance they put on against the Steelers. If he won't do it, Romeo should. If Romeo won't, then the Browns front office should take action on all involved.

There is no excuse for this team coming out on opening day after all the off-season moves and adds, and looking like a high school football team against Pittsburgh. (No offense to high school teams -- there are probably a number of high school teams that might make the Browns look bad too.)

What I don't forgive is the Cleveland fans who apparently have short memories. Calling for Brady Quinn may as well be calling in the firing squad for the Cleveland Browns. But of course, the Browns front office can't stand up to the fans and rather give in and are going to end up sticking Brady Quinn out there to eventually fail instead of giving him time to grow and learn.

Good job Cleveland. Good job.

My 7 yr old great nephew plays mini league, he plays for "The Browns". They won their game on Friday, 17-4. Hows that for a team!!
Romeo, Romeo, where art thou Romeo...Not on the field!!!

Romeo isn't the problem. Yet another mistake the "Browns fans" keep making. Blame the coach. You know what? There is only so much a coach can do when the players aren't holding their end of the deal.

I'm sick of fans blaming QB's and coaches for the offensive line's pathetic attempts and blocking, the arm tackling and the poor personnel decisions the front office has made through the years.

If you want anyone to be the scape goat, blame Phil Savage. Remember, he hails from a team we all know and "love" -- Baltimore!

phil savage needs to stay out of the decision making and let the coaches do what they are to do. I am a browns fan all the way, since I was a young child and will be until the day I die. I want a win as much as the browns do, yet something has to give here and who knows what it is?????

Well the fans got what they wanted-Charlie is gone. Unfortunately until receivers quit dropping passes (like in the pre-season) and players quit causing dumb penalties...the results will be the same on Sundays. Like Paul Brown, Charlie will get to the Super Bowl first.

The fans will get what they want with Quinn being named the starter, there will be the "honeymoon period" where he does well and we actually win a few games (or at least come close) -- then he'll get thrown to the ground enough times that he fails and we look for another first round QB to ruin.

The Brown did Charlie Frye a favor but trading the best thing that could have happen. Lets face it when they signed Brady to that big contract he was not going to sit on the sideline for a long time. I believed they were showcasing Charlie in the pre-season while they had a deal in the work. But it is not the QB who is to blame, a team is made up by a lot of members and it is the job of the coach to meld them together. I would have to say that Romeo and the front office need to be reviewed. And maybe I am mistaken about Romeo's abilities as a head coach but I am really not seeing much. As far as the front office goes, Mr Lerner need to show them the door and hire a new team.

Hey just my two cents

I am with everyone else, who feels Frye was treated unfairly. There is no I in team. They should get rid of the whole team. He is not on the field when the opposing team runs pass us to score a touchdown. I am glad Frye is going to another team. He will probably make it to the superbowl before the browns will

I love how everyone wants to fire someone. What will that do except continue a carousel of coaches who will change players, schemes, and who knows what else.Phil and Romeo inhereted a bad football team.Wake up people, this was a terrible team and these guys are trying to fix it.How many successful teams change coaches as much as we have? And those that do continue to lose.

I have been unhappy with Romeo for a few year now. He always has an reason why. He is much to soft. We need a strong person working and teaching. I hope he will be next to go. I wish Charlie the best of Luck. I enjoyed him alot. I am sorry it didn't work out. Romeo, Romeo where is your back bone?

I agree with the fact that they inherited a bad football team. I am not saying that either Savage or Crennel should be fired. I don't think either of them should.

As for Romeo, he is a bit too soft and needs to be harder on these guys. They are making millions, they should be able to take some heat from the coach - if they can't, it's probably because they know they aren't performing the way they should.

If Romeo can't be hard on these guys, they need to get some assistant coaches who can. I don't know that it is Romeo's job to rip the players to shreds, but it sure worked for Bill Cowher in Pittsburgh.

It's same old story for Browns' fan. You all thought that hiring Romeo was a great move. Now you want to burn him at the stake. The majority of Browns' fan thought drafting Charlie Frye was a good move because he was better than what the Browns had at the time. Now you're happy he's gone. what a bunch of hypocrites!!!

I call you hypocrites because you fought so hard to get the team back and they've sucked ever since they've been back. You bitch and moan about how they've sucked and not getting good players. But yet you keep paying $40-$120, minus the PSL, per ticket and sell out the stadium every week. Maybe hypocrites isn't the right word. Maybe IDIOTS is better.

How about paying less to see a winning team and try selling out Jacobs Field? What a great idea!
