Well that was quite a week economically......we came dangerously close to a stockmarket melt down with the market officially down over 20 percent.....forget that early retirement everyone.....and the only thing that saved it was the US Treasury coming to the rescue of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae by promising a tax payer funded rescue to the tune of $15 Billion dollars......added to that the FDIC was forced to step in and seize IndyMac...the largest bank to go into default since Georges father was president....history will acknowledge our time with a new term...a Bush Economy.....unemployment continues to skyrocket surpassing the 5.5% mark and inflation hit 4.2 % in May...that means every dollar you have today will be worth 50 cents in just 17 years....like i said, forget about that early retirement that looked so promising during the Clinton years.....and still the republican candidate for president promises to continue the policies of the Bush administration.....i don't know about the nation...but im certain Ohio can't take four more years....anyone who knows their history will remember the fate of Alfred Landon in the election of 1936....lets hope history does repeat itself....Those tax cuts for the rich man don't sound like such a great idea now...do they?

When Bush decided to invade Iraq, he officially became the worst president ever and in the future.

Hmmm...and someone forgot to mention that Senator Schumer did say something about the IndyMac Bank...and there was magically a run on the bank.
I'm not looking forward in retiring until whenever the new age will be...at least 67 or 70 or whatever it will be 20 years from now.

I will die before I retire.
Hey, What the hell!!!!!! I've had a good run.
You know. You can't take it with you.
Maybe I will die tomorrow.
Maybe I will die alone.
Maybe I'll die laughing.
Maybe I'll die in my sleep.
Anyway I go, I'll be glad.
I'll miss my Rock N Roll.
But I won't be sad.
You see I'll be seeing some.
Up there, over yonder.
I'll kiss the sky.
And give the devil his dues.
And Rock On to the end.

Man, I need some more Vodka!!!!!!!!!!

ROCK ON PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

retiring early and having enough money to do anything you want shows you how shallow life is hams....but it beats the alternative....you do what you have to so you can do what you want to...write that down

W' - "forget about that early retirement that looked so promising during the Clinton years....."

WHAT?!?! With all the promises from the Obama camp, we won’t have to worry about a thing. He is going to finally care for the sick, and give good jobs to the jobless. He has the power to raise the oceans and slow the planet so they heal. Heck, providing a worthwhile retirement for me should be easy compared to those other things.

It sounds like you are giving a vote of "no confidence" to Obama. Have you changed your mind about the DNC Messiah? I thought he could do anything?

as i sit here listening to general motors cutting 20 percent of its salaried workforce and the market hitting 10,900 on the dow i see how very far away november is hybrid.....obama is the light at the end of the tunnel...but that tunnel is looking to be pretty long as the policies of the last 8 years come home to roost....hurry thanksgiving....hurry

W' - "obama is the light at the end of the tunnel"

Now, Obama is ONLY a light at the end of the tunnel? I thought he was going to SAVE America with change and hope? Sounds like you feel defeated even in victory.

Maybe if I reminded you that Obama is going to heal the earth you will feel your spirits lift. Obama will get all those GM jobs back and if he can’t, he is going to give them “good jobs”. Maybe Obama plans to put a lot of the jobless to work by putting them all in the ocean to raise the ocean so he can heal the earth. Anyway, here is to Hope and Change. Yes we can.

one thing we can both agree on hybrid...the last eight years have been disastrous for the nation....anything is better than the policies of the bush administration....we dont want to bring donald rumsfeld back...do we?...change and the future holds opportunities...or sit in this dismal economic slump

Hey rickyg...its not whether I'm smart enough which I am, its when I can afford to. If I was smart enough, I would retire now...I can't afford to.

As for Senator Obama saving anything...its up to the old worthless guard Congress which will do whatever Senator Obama wants. And that is take our money and waste it away. Maybe some of ur money will go to rebuild all the buildings of the worthless United Nations compound.

tem, it does appear to be like that doesn't it?

honestly though, i don't think that IF he gets there he will be wielding the power that people think he will.

remember, the dems are politicians too......

i think it will be more like jimmy carter was, just an idiotic figurehead that the dems can push around.
