Tim Hagan is saying that there is a budget crisis is Cuyahoga county and they need to trim teh county workforce by a hiring freeze or layoffs. They are having trouble finding money for neccessary services.
I say Cuyahoga county should first look at the people they have hired and exactly what they are doing on the counties time !!
Then take a look at who is doing the budgeting and if they can not handle it in a manner to fit all the needs then get them the hell out of the office and hire someone that can.
But that would be to easy...WHY ? cause Cuyahoga has a serious problem with hiring family members and not qualified candidates...UHHHH did I step on someones toes...TUFF !!
I am so sick and tired of hearing about hiring freezes, people out of work, layoffs etcc....first of all people who are layed off need to get off their asses and take whatever job they get. SO what if it is not the income you are use to or can not support a family on, at least you are working...then the county can pay you only 1/2 of the foodstamps you were getting or 1/2 of the ADC check and that will help out the county.
Those with family members working for the county should not rely on those members to get them into a high paying job...the rest of us have to start from the bottom even with college degrees and here you are fresh out of high school, some barely passing or some with GED and starting at 30,000 a year...WHY ?? cause your aunt, uncle, or daddy work in an area of the county in which passes up people who stand in line for an application and qualifications.
So maybe Cuyahoga county has to many people in postions sucking up overtime for jobs that they are not qualified for, stalling hoping no one will catch on that the job is not done or a job that could of taken only a day is actually taking a month.
Someone needs to take a stand in office, open their eyes, speak what they know an maybe , just maybe Cuyahoga county would be a better place. So dont wonder next time why people are moving out of the County..we all know the truth there is just not someone brave enough to take a stand so we all walk around blindfolded.

Ok so it is annouced tht Palin's daughter is pregnant at 17yrs and she will be marrying the father. I dont know who is worse McCain for picking such a backup or Palin for being self absorbed.
YES, I said self absorbed....come on people, she should be home taking care of her Down syndrom baby and keeping better tabs on her older daughter. It is a known fact teen sex is usually cause the teen is lacking in something that they are not getting at home. Was this pregnancy intentional ? Maybe...her daughter may be crying out saying she will show her baby the attention her mother is not giving her.
Then in the campaign photos..who is holding Palins youngest...uhh huh her daughter, so once again this child is not getting a full childhood and was forced to grow up fast.
Im a mother of 2 special needs children and although there are things I want to do in life, like go back for my masters etc...I dont !! Why cause my children are more important, they need a mother who is there for them, not just in spirit.
I fully think she should step down, go back home and take care of her family. And dont give me the crap her son is serving in Irag....BIG WOOO...he to probably enlisted to get away from what is happening on the home front.
Hate me for what I say, but Im keeping it real.

Ok now some will hate me if they read this, but just seen the news and read online about the boy who was hit by a car then the drive backed up and ran over him, then fled away.
Now my first reaction was concern for the child...BUT he was clearly in the street !!! I blame the parents for not watching thier children. I dont let my son out in the front yard let alone out in the street to play. That is pure neglect of the parent and I feel they should be sited in some way from the city.
A prime example is I live right off a main road. Just last night 6 children were having a running race right out in the middle of the street after 9:30pm !! Ive already seen one child get hit by a semi on our street, this was like bowling pins just willing to get hit.
Then you have the parents crying Oh my BABY, my BABY...but they dont see how this all could of been avoided. I feel for the person who hit the child just as much as for the child that was hit. It is a shame the city can made so many rules and looks real good on paper, but nothing is ever enforced.
This is one time child services need to step in and check out where the parents were of this child when he was playing in the street !!

Ok read the article the other day about the person who complained to the Supreme Court about her divorce case taking so long. When the Supreme Court looked at the case they closed the case and started it new. She was so fustrated that she just settled.
This infuriates me. Having an ex-husband and dealing with Domestic Court, it amazes me how we pay these lawyers and when your in court you do nothing but sit outside on a hard bench. Then they have these magistrates discuss your case, but they have no legal area to lay down any law...they can suggest but if you dont agree then OH well it is to trial.
BUt they dont like that...and then if you ask to speak to the magistrate yourself your forbidden....yet is it your MONEY PAYING FOR EVERYTHING !!
These courts need to really get it together. I just recently contacted the Supreme Court cause my ex filed false charges on me and my husband, all was dropped but I was forced to have shared parenting with my ex, which consists of my children being bounced from one home one week to another home the next. Their whole world turned upside down---there is no communication and he was granted this after for the past 7yrs only seeing the children once a month for a total of 2 nights.
So we have been going back and forth in court cause even though I agree the children should see their father more, with no communication between us (HIs part only) I feel it would be in the best interest of the children if I had the boys during the weekdays during the school year. One I am home all day, Two I am in contact with the schools constantly, Three I make all thier Dr's appointments (boys are considered special needs) and I am the only one who keeps my ex informed of all events taking place at the school, concerns an progress.
Now I have proven all in court, but each time the magistrate suggests a different schedule all my ex tells his lawyer is NO and they schedule another date with the magistrate. We had a GAL who was not worth a dime and must of gotten her degree out of a cracker jack box. Because she never seen the children in their own enviorment. She met my children one time with me, one time with my ex in her office WHOOPIEE!! then she did not even wait for the childrens report cards, which my son failed 2 classes before giving her testimony. THEN she called my cell phone for her payment to the point I had to change numbers.
Well I took this article to heart and did some investigation of my own....You can complain and still get justice. I have one more court date and that is all I am giving my case before I make sure my voice is loud and clear. People who are wrapped up in these cases with the Cuyahoga System and have children involved need to stand up for them.
My husband now is going through a custody case in Huron Ohio and you know what...2 court dates and all is settled...WOW can you imagine that in Cuyahoga...maybe they are afraid of loosing cases (as if that will ever happen). I blame the system and for those allowing all this to happen, the lawyers who dont speak up and say, enough is enough, the magistrates boss, the judge for not stepping in and for whoever keeps the dockets for not checking the lengths of these cases.
I think all magistrates should be fired and all cases should go before the judge. 9/10 they all end up there anyway --in trial. If not the people settle and it is a no wonder we have such crime in the city--look what people are driven to. A bunch of fustrated people who never got to say thier peace in court....

As highschool graduations near I think of all the students that will not pass the proficient tests that are needed to pass for thier diploma.
Well I have children coming to the age of high school times and was shocked to find out that now schools allow calculators during math. I was a bit concerned so I sat my stepson down, who attends Bellevue middle school and gave him 2 pages of adding, subtraction, multiplication and early algebra.
To my amazement he got all but 2 wrong. This child could not even do basic multiplication with more than 2 digets. Then add decimals and he was completely lost !
Now since he does not go to school on our area but out by Norwalk, I left a message with the school counselor. It is a no wonder these kids now a days can not count change back, keep track of their money and why the economy is going to hell. Look at what is in our future.
Now his father and I are not going to sit by and watch this child fail. All we have to go by since he does not live with us the majority of the time, is what the teachers tell us and what is on his report card. But as strict parents over here in Cleveland I can assure you this child will be attending summer school taking basic math.
I just think of last year and seen all the students that did not graduate. I hope more parents are really looking into their childs school work, quizing them and making sure they actually know something besides street smarts. We have to rememeber these children are the future. DO you actually want someone running the countries budget who can not function without a calculator ?

What is wrong with people today....I was brought up even if I marry to just live on one income. It has been my motto and although rough at times my husband I manage and are thankful we both have jobs and one income to fall back on.
Now I know as your reading this your probably shaking your head, but really with the economy the way it is today even the young are living way beyond their means. I blame society and how they have everyone believing in "I gotta have it NOW" syndrom.
What ever happen to the days when you started from the bottom and built your way up. Start with a smaller house, save for a larger one. But NO fresh out of college these young people expect high paying jobs, elaborage houses and cars and fancy cloths.
I look at my children now and can see how society effects them. Already the 10yr old is asking why she can not have a cell phone--as if she actually has important calls she can not wait to return ! My 13yr old is talking about the fancy car he is going to buy once he gets his drivers permit --as if Im paying for that car insurance. Then the 12yr old is talking about how his game cube is not good enough and he needs a play station 3. And why is it that the playstation 1 & 2 were not good enough. Did the manuafacture come up with some brain storm idea that 1 & 2 were not making enough money so they come out with #3 and charge more for the game ?
Families are foreclosing on their houses just to keep up with others, just so they can say OHHH "I Have that." but is it really worth all the heartache of a non furnished home so you can say you live in that big house. Is it worth it to drive that fancy car but only drive it on certain days because you can not afford the gas or full covered insurace. Is it worth it to wear those $80 sneakers when you have no money left to buy food for your family ?
It is sad that even married couples live beyond their means. People now adays should be thankful they have a job--like it or not, a job is a job and it pays the bills and puts a roof over ones head and food on the table.
Stop living to impress others. Start today and re-evaluate your position in life. Are you really happy or is it just society that you are trying to live for ?
Life is never to short to make changes. Own up to your reponsabilities and think about not only today but your future.

Traffic
On Wed. I was driving on BrookPark Rd wanting to make a Left at W150th...
Well seems construction is there again and on Wed there were two police officers directing traffic. I thought nothing of it cause I seen cars making the left hand turn onto W 150th. The office stopped our lane directed other lanes and then started going with his hands in a wild way.
My children were quite amused, but when we got right along side of the officer and I had my left blinker on, he would not allow me to turn left.
As I unrolled my window to ask why did he let the other cars go--this officer was SCREAMING at me to move it, move it...I just looked at him, got his badge number and told my children he was just cranky cause he was on his feet, but fuming at this officers behavior.
Why do some when becoming police officers think they can play GOD !! I have come across a few cocky officers in my days. What a shame that one would abuse their athority.
I did call and report this officer and although the chief said he spoke to them I dont believe he did. It is a no wonder people carry video camera's these days and disgrace people on YouTube. Well you can bet I will be packing my camera next time and will be showing the world just how their tax money is being sent. Maybe then some police officers will be minding their P's & Q's !

I just read the article about the child sleeping in class, and the teacher woke them up by slamming their palm on the desk. Now the child is claiming a hearing problem.
I am just appauled that the parents of this child would allow this to even go to court. And what fool of a lawyer would take the case ?
If that was my child I would say--child you deserved more than a slap on a desk if you were sleeping in class !! I say take these kids who dont want to learn, give them a bag and have them pick up our garbage on the side of the roads....show them what it will be like when they cant find a job...or when they go to make a fast buck and get caught by the law.
These lazy kids today think they can get away with anything. And I blame the parents. We need more parents (like me) who are not afaid to allow a teacher to do their job. Not afraid to keep tabs on our children, not afraid to set curfews, bedtimes and demand respect.
Give me back the days when a parent had a say in a childs up bringing without everyone criticizing them. I say put my butt in jail, because if it will keep my child on the straight road then AMEN Lord, I will do my time.

Why is it when the lottery gets to a big amount, people are more nicer to each other in line ?
Why is it when we get some nice weather people get more moody ?
Now Im an advid lottery ticket buyer, not big just $5 a week on the Mega Millions and maybe a lottery ticket. But last week everyone in line was so nice. Everyone talking about what they would do with all that money. And this week the lottery only 16 M and people are trying to cut in line, breathing down my neck thinking the line will go forward faster if they ride piggy back on me (LOL)....
It was just an annoying eye-opener. Then we get that little burst of nice weather then the snow storm and people are in a mood in which a good scoop of ice-cream could not even cure.
Just today my baby who is going to be 2 on Sunday --and I were at Marcs. It was early in the morning as we just dropped the older ones off to school. There was only one cashier. Well my baby was helping me put the groceries on the counter then I pushed her to where I could write a check.
Well let me tell you what happened. There was a pen on the counter and she picked it up and held it out to the cashier...this lady swiped it out of my babies hand and slammed it back on the counter. OHHHH you know I gave her a good glaring at, which of coarse made me write my check slower, which made the line longer and her temper to really show.
Now Im sorry I took my time but she did not have to be so cranky...I can not stand people who stay at a job they do not like. Now some may comment and say "Oh but they need the job" UHHH no society does not need them in those positions, look for someplace else.
One thing I am proud of is that :
1. I never job hopped
2. If I did not like a job, I was honest about it and looked for something new.
3. All my jobs have been long lasting, meaning each one has been 10yrs or more.
4. I treat others with the respect they give me.
So it was not a perfect start to a weekend, but then again I work every weekend so it is not going to affect my week.
Peace, Love and Toodles.

I already have a web page set up, but love being a Fox local user.
Im a mom of six beautiful children. Two adopted, Two biological and my two step children. I like to think of ourselves as the brady bunch of the new millenium.
Were a blended family with never-ending events happening and my one wish is to someday meet Richard Simmons....OK call me crazy but love the mans energy and have many of his tapes that my baby and I exercise to 3x a week. To see my 1 1/2 yr old dancing to the oldies is a site and it wears her out for a good long nap (LOL).
Recently my husband and I decided to move. But instead of putting our home up for sale we decided to hold a contest and raffle it off. Our decision was based on the economy and the fact that we wanted to give someone a chance to live in our home and make as many lovely memories as we have. Anything that the contest collects over what we owe will be donated to Neuroblastoma in the name of Kylie Houtchings, my stepchildrens stepsister who passed away Aug 2006 of this cancer.
People are calling us crazy because we will not be making a dime from out home. But were a blended family which outgrew our home. Besides a home is just a shell to live in, were not loosing out because it is our memories that we will be taking with us and that no one can ever erase.
It feels good to be a fox local user and looking forward to reading other viewer blogs.
Peace
