I just saw an ad during the 5pm news encouraging bringing casinos to Ohio. My friends, that would be a huge mistake. In an already depressed market such as Cleveland, a casino will do nothing but suck more money out the area. People seem to think that the area will flourish with the increased income, but that is not true.

The only town thriving on casino traffic is Las Vegas. That's because there is much more there than casinos. Do we really want to become Detroit? Any idea how much crime happens around the casinos there? How about St. Louis?

Casinos would be the ruin of Cleveland. If you look at the statistics, the towns with casinos do well for about two years then take a nose dive. Do we have the resources to sustain that nose dive?

Also with casinos comes corruption. You're sadly mistaken if you think it's going to generate some huge windfall of tax dollars.

READ THE WHOLE THING BEFORE YOU PASS JUDGMENT:

'They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English.  I can't even talk the way these people talk:
     Why you ain't,
     Where you is,
     What he drive,
     Where he stay,
     Where he work,

And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk.

And then I heard the father talk.

Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth.

In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living. People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around.

The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal.

These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids. $500 sneakers for what?? And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics.

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit.

Where were you when he was 2??

Where were you when he was 12??

Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol??

And where is the father?? Or who is his father?

People putting their clothes on backward:
Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong?

People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something ?

Or are you waiting for Jesus to pull his pants up ?

Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercings] going through her body?

What part of Africa did this come from??

We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa.

With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap, and all of them are in jail.

Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem.

We have got to take the neighborhood back.

People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' -- or men or whatever you call them now.

We have millionaire football players who cannot read.

We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs We, as black folks have to do a better job. Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are hurting us.

We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.

We cannot blame the white people any longer.'

Dr. William Henry 'Bill' Cosby, Jr., Ed.D.

Not a commentary by a white person...does it make sense?

I'm so sick of hearing Rosie O'Donnell whine about anything that doesn't please her. Who REALLY listens to this pig? Back in the day, she used to be funny, now she thinks everyone should listen to whatever little cause she picks.

She's talking about American Idol now...how long has this show been on? Do the people going there to audition really think that something has changed with the judges? People are taking this WAY too seriously. You have to admit...the guy did look like a Lemur. Most of these people audition because they think they're stars and want to ride a rocket to the top, being a great singer takes work, very few people are so gifted that they just MAKE IT.

But I digress, Rosie just shoots her mouth off because she thinks that'll boost that ratings of a horrible show. She should just shut up and entertain people like she's paid to do. Media fights with other celebrities are far from funny.

Does anyone really think that the Gravelle's were doing this for some noble cause? Does one couple really need to take in 11 children with special needs to prove that they are doing a good thing?

They got money for each child they took in, they made statements about how much they were getting. Isn't that enough? Who in their right mind gave them 11 children without some in-depth studies of what was going on in the home. It really sounds like someone wanted to get these poor children off their roster and the Gravelle's had a good dumping ground.

Who forces a child to sleep in a BATHTUB to make them quite wetting the bed? That's all a child needs is more stress when they're in that situation.

Lock these people up in little beds.

Why is it that people like Madonna get attention for being morons? Does anyone honestly think that she adopted that child for some noble cause? It was a PR move. Madonna should spend some of her money on getting the gap in her teeth fixed instead of taking some young boy away from his family. Like she will ever even have contact with him.

Tom Cruise...why does he continually get press for being an idiot. People should ignore him and maybe he'll go away. If people stopped paying to see his films, he'd cease to have a career. All this garbage is coming from a jerk who got famous for dancing around the living room in his underwear.

Bill Maher....bad taste...not funny....enough said.

Michael Jackson...too long of a list.

Mel Gibson...bonehead....it was a really interesting coincidence that he had a moving coming out right after he got out of rehab.

Robin Williams....see Mel Gibson. Robin Williams' so-called "stream of consciousness" humor stopped being funny a long, long, time ago.

I get tired of celebrities thinking they are some kind of saviors. I look to them for entertainment, not because they're role models.

I'm so sick of these opponent-bashing political ads on TV, the Radio, phoning your house. Mike DeWine's ridiculous phone service called my house today with the same message no less than 5 times. That certainly smacks of desperation. Would he like it if we called his house at all hours just to say we'd NEVER vote for him in a million years even if he were the last candidate on earth? What a punk.

It's such a shame that we have to warn about Sexual Predators now on Halloween. When I was a kid, we just didn't eat unwrapped candy. Bit by bit, their childhoods are being stolen away. Far too many times it seems their violations go unpunished or unreported. Happy and SAFE Halloween to all.

A teen died in the St. Louis area due to a police stun gun firing. I'm sure this is going to ignite all sorts of ballyhoo about how stun guns are so awful and how the police killed this innocent teenager. But when it comes right down to it, he refused to acknowledge the police. Just because the Bible and Jesus are supposedly involved in this incident doesn't make it right.

The constitution allows us rights of peaceful assembly and demonstration. When the police get involved and the demonstrator refuses to cooperate, that's when it ceases to be peaceful.

I feel bad the the boy died, but let's be realistic, when the police ask you to stop doing something, maybe you should comply.

It seems that all the political campaigns are built on mudslinging now. Candidates hardly ever tell us what they're about, just what they're opponent has apparently done wrong. They twist the facts so much that it's hard to know what's true.

I'm a firm believer that people should get into politics beacuse they believe in what they're doing and want to make a difference. Do you think Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson or Benjamin Franklin got into politics because they could make alot of cash? They did it because they were driven to make things right.

When politics ceases to be a career path, we'll start to make a change. Some serious political reform needs to happen if we expect to continue living in a free society. People need to check their religion, sexual orientation and race at the door and just do the right thing.

TOLERANCE is the word for the day. If someone is not hurting you or anyone else, then don't worry about what they're doing.

Michael J. Fox deserves cheers for staying in the public eye even though he's being ravaged by Parkinson's Disease. Most people, let alone celebrities would go and hide for fear of being laughed at.

Why does anyone lend ANY creedence to the garbage that comes out of the mouth of this self-righteous pig. Does he want everyone to get whacked out on Vicodin and feel nothing like he did?

It's a shame to see a young man like Michael J. Fox being ravaged by this awful disease. We should be doing everything we can to stop debilitating death sentences in their tracks.

Rush wishes so badly that he could be Howard Stern, but even Howard Stern wouldn't say something so callous.

Let's get together and all decide to stop sending money to a worthless war and spend some on things that mean something.....education and medical research rank right up there in my top 5.

I'm a former smoker, a wholeheartedly believe that the issue of completely banning smoking is a ridiculous. Firstly, it's still a free country, don't want to be around smoke? don't go where the smoke is. There's plenty of room for everyone.

Secondly, the cigarette companies employ an enormous amount of people and are the largest industries we have. Do you really want to put all those people out of work? Will our illustrious President foot the bill with his own pocket when those people go on unemployment? It doesn't stop there, what about the tobacco farmers? What about the transportation companies that bring the cigarettes around to the stores? It goes on an on. Tax dollars generated from cigarette sales.

I'm confident that most of you aren't thinking this out. Give the establishments the choice, then the patrons have a choice. Plenty of places will become smoke-free, and plenty will allow smoking. You need to use your heads and not be so short-sighted when making this decision. Once you make it, and completely ban smoking, it's going to be pretty hard to reverse it.

What will be next????? I think they tried something like this once, it was called "prohibition." If my history is correct, it didn't work. So if it didn't work then, it isn't going to work now. Let's criminalize one more thing.
