Cleveland Vs. Violance

I dont see why people wants to live in Cleveland, I understand you have to go where the jobs are but with all that violance n killings going on its awful, I know this goes on other places but my gosh, Cleveland seem to have a high crime rate. I usually take my grandkids to different place to see like the zoo, but I am having 2nd thoughts of every going back to Cleveland for anything. How sad alot of the crimes now adays involve kids.

This is true to a point. Seems Cleveland has a higher rate of this. I don't like it myself, and I don't like Ohio much, and that's why hubby and I are considering relocating to the south. Weather is much better there also. I understand violence is everywhere, but here in Cleveland seems to get worse and worse!

I don't go into cleveland either, it just seems like their is too many problems there, cleveland is getting a bad reputation.

Crime is everywhere. There is a higher percentage in the city because the population is higher. I live in Cleveland in a very nice neighborhood and haven't had any problems in 30 years - not even a stolen garbage can.
If you sat down and figured out the percentage of crime according to population numbers, it's probably not much different from one city to the next.

girlscout - I agree with you 100%
The more people - the more crime.
I for one do not like any cities. I prefer my country life, but to each his own.

dont be paranoid and full of fear, The more the people the higher the crime, New York, and L.A. has a high population and high crime rate, but they are cities were the population continues to grow.

kehughley- I am not scared , just looking out for the saftey of my family, and yes its true that the bigger cities have more crime too. Have a good one !!

I raised 2 daughters here in Cleveland and never felt at any time, that they were unsafe. There is good and bad in every city, be it urban or suburban.
I've been hearing lots of crime stories on the news lately in places like Parma and Bay Village.This doesn't mean all their citizens should move. Did you ever read the book, "In Cold Blood"? A family of 4, murdered in their beds, in a farm house out in the country.

girlscout- Like i said before I an not living in fear nor am I scared, just looking out for the saftey of my family, dont want to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.In fact when I was working as asst. manager for a store that is now out of business I was robbed at gun point by one of my regular customers. So no matter where you are at something could always happen. My families saftey comes first. I hate the thought when they start school.

I love the outdoors, taking pictures, have had some published and copyrighted. Like to camp, hike, ride on the back of a motorcycle, spending my time with family and friends., love to cook.Love sports...Go "STEELERS". Like to or go to the races, nascaar, demo car, quads, motorcross, anything to do out doors, I 'm there!!!! Am considered the life of the party and get along with everyone.
