Califronia's equal rights decision

Congratulations to the people of California who have the pleasure of living in a state where the equal rights of people are actually upheld in the state courts. This is in reference to the Calif court decision allowing gays the basic, human, fundamental right to marry. While Ohio has voted to limit and restrict individual rights ( i.e. the constitutional amendment against gay marriage), California is progressive enough to realize that fools like Ohio's Ken Blackwell ( former losing candidate for governor)are a throwback to a time when blacks, poor whites, women, labor organizers,gays, etc. were all looked down upon and threatened with violence or ostracism to keep them in subservient positions or out of sight.Calif. gives me hope that someday even Ohio might become progressive enough to live up to the expectations, hopes, and ideals of our Founding Fathers & Mothers.

Your right kent, I applaude California for their decision. I have quite a few gay friends and to me they should have the same rights as we do. No one should be told they can't have the same rights or benefits as anyone else just because of their sexual preferences, just like no one should be denied those rights because of the color of their skin, religion, or culture. I feel like this if a gay man can find a good man to make him happy then god bless him cause their aren't many out there and woman, of you can deal with all the bs and drama that other woman have then you definatly deserve a medal, hell I don't have many female friends cause I can't stand the backstabing and bs. I too hope that Ohio can gets with it and allows it!

gays do not want the same rites they want more rites.they already have a rite to marry another person OF THE OPPOSITE SEX just like i do. so lets get it straight they want different rites NOT the same rites as me. and why because they are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy different.

as long as there not shoving it in my face i could care less but when i see a man tounging another man i want to puke..

sorry if that offends any of you thats just the way i feel.

one good thing though maybe all the queers will move to California and stay there.

No such luck, betterdays. My daughter's gay, I have gay friends, and my next door neighbors are gay - NON of them plan on moving to California! LOL! FYI: Not all gays want to be married either.

WRONG!! They do want the SAME rights: They want the right to marry the spouse of THEIR choice. I don't see anything wrong with one human being marrying another human being(regardless of gender). As far as the "tounging in public" I'd say that calls for a GET A ROOM!! whether it is two men or two women or even a man and a woman!

Let me get this straight(or should I say "let me get this GAY")LOL!: you want the "queers" to go to California. Why? So we can segregate and remove them from society? Like a concentration camp?

I agree with Betterdays! Just a thought on RIGHTS. I thought the Voters had Voted against this B/S. Then the Court says, Go to Hell, we disagree, Next, Texas raids a Compound, takes Babies and Children, give out how many LIES to us, along with the Media, who CONDEMNED every living soul in it. Today, the total number of underage girls, according to them is down to five who MAY be pregnant. I watched as the WACO thing came down. How many excuses were there for the raid and murder of all of them? Did you ever see a pile of machine guns? Was there ever any Dope found? Was there child abuse? Is this where we are headed?

So now people have the RIGHT to RAPE underage girls and violate polygamy laws? All because it is their "religion"? The children should be removed from that Texas compound and the parents need to be sent to jail.

I care a great deal about animal welfare. I am appalled by the amount of animal abuse that is reported daily and I use every opportunity I have to push for stronger laws to punish those who abuse innocent animals.I strongly encourage everyone who agrees to speak out for animals. I consider myself an independent- not aligned with the Republican or Democratic party. I love the United States with a passion and offer insight and criticism to make this country as great as our Founding Fathers envisioned.
