I am so discusted, frustrated and a little scared. Last night my neighbors and I were sitting on our front porch having a beer and bs'ing when 3 teens, 2 boys and 1 girl, with a child came walking down the middle of the street yelling and screaming at the top of their lungs, it  was almost 10pm and my 19month old was sleeping so we asked them to tone it down a little because we had kids sleeping in the house. At that point the one boy stared cussin us out and sayin F that little B***h baby and all types of other crazy stuff, my one neighbor called the police cause the kids went two different directions. A few minutes later 15 boys came from one end and 14 or 15 girls and boys came from the other end of the street, mind you 3 of the girls had babies in strollers and it was almost 11 by then. They all came in front of our house, cops were called again, and started threatening us and throwing garbage cans, 2 of which hit my friend, one in the face and one in the chest, one girl came thru our gate and got in my face, but once she realized she was on my property she backed up and left our yard, They brought huge bricks with them to "bash our heads in", we called the poice 6 more times!!!! and were told by one dispatcher that " they will send the first available car" and when my friend said she had already been assulted twice, what's it gonna take for them to get here, a dead body?and since it was  30 on 3 and two of us were females and have a 19 month old and a 6 month old in the house, she said they'll be there as soon as they can. My friend told her well I hope you sleep well tonight and she replied I will I did my job! Then they started throwing rocks and bricks, which they brought with them, at our house and broke windows. five minutes later the police came creeping down the street without a care in the world. 45 minutes later, they show finally show up,  how ridiculous is that. We asked them if we would have taken action against these kids would we have been charged and they told us yes. So in essence we can't even protect our families and homes from these kids without going to jail ourselves. How is this right?

The sad thing about this is the fact that it's happening more and more everyday.
What city was this.?

Thats when you get a gun, stand in your yard and shoot it in the air and tell them to get the BLEEP* off your property!!!(Yeah right I wish...lol)
Kids have no respect now a days and it really pisses me off.....I'm so worried for my kids because things are getting so out of control!

The cops were wrong: If you are on YOUR property and you or your family are threatened, you have every right, morally AND legally, to defend yourself and your property. These kids needed to be spanked a few (hundred, apparently) more times. The lack of respect for others is what I find reprehensible about SOME of today's youth. How will these kids function in society, on the job or just in public? Filling their heads with utopian fantasies about everyone being a winner isn't the answer......these street urchin are not winners by ANY definition of the word.

Wow jig, what a horrible thing to happen. Remember when we were kids?? If a neighbor caught you doing something wrong, you walked home scared that they already called your parents!
It's a shame when you can't even enjoy an evening on your own front porch!
I wonder where THIER parents were.
Hope this is an isolated incident for you.

JIGS lets be glad that's all that happened OMG! nowadays you say something to these kids and they pull out a gun on you! that 911 operator should be fired, it's obvious she did not take your call seriously, and just like that operator failed respond accordingly to the calls from the neighbor of that guy who was murdered some weeks back because of someone elses lack in judgement a life can be lost! It's a shame you have to be a prisoner in your own home! good luck and i hope those kids wind up paying for this!

jigs, do your best to move out of that neighborhood.............no matter WHAT you have to do or lose.

no amount of money will console you if you or one of your children are killed by one of these punks (or others)

how sad & scary for you.

and cleveland city council can't quite figure out WHY people don't want to live there, go figure!

i had an experience with cleveland police similar........it took them an HOUR to show up & by then, we had handled it ourselves, but it took the show of a very LARGE intimidating man carrying a gun. how pathetic.

Wannabqueeen...on the west side of cleveland. My street is very short and normally very quiet. We really have never seen these kids around, so we have no clue where they came from. On the bright side, we didn't see them all weekend so maybe they calmed down.
It really is scary and I called my boyfriend and told him to bring me a gun, I HATE the thought of having a gun in the house with kids but to protect them I will! I was completly amazed that at least 3 of the girls had babies in strollers with them! the kids were screaming and scared and their "mothers" were acting like fools, just unbelievably sad.

gyro...oh yeah I remember when I was a kid, heck we were lucky if our neighbors parents didn't spank us first.lol. Then get home and Wow I knew I would be grounded from everything under the sun. But then being grounded worked for us. Now you tell a kid their grounded and they laugh at you and walk out the house(not my kids personally just in general) But theres the difference, my kids have respect! they never disrespect an adult and if they do, I don't care how old and bigger they are I will smack them in the mouth, and they know it.

The one girl knew she was wrong for steppin on our property though cause as soon as she realized it she stopped and walked out our gate. So they aren't completly dumb, but still the lack of respect is inconcievable! It really scares me that this is our future and this is what my kids have to grow up with. Cleveland will just continue getting worse until there is nothing nice left at all!

Thank you everyone for your comments and conce
