Personally, I have had it with LBJ.

He not only wears a Yankees cap at  Yankees/Indians game but continues to bite the hands that have fed him during his tenure as a member of the CLEVELAND Cavs.

This latest gushing by LeBron over the Big Apple being his "favorite city" is enough to make me reach for the Pepto.  LBJ continues to demonstrate that he has absolutely no long term loyalty to Cleveland and northeast Ohio and to those who have supported him. What's more, he shows no remorse in routing for the "other guys".  Makes me wonder if his heart ever was in Cleveland?

Should Lebron James go to New York? Perhaps we should be asking ourselves: has he already done so? His heart has left us and his body just hasn't followed yet.  Perhaps now is the time for the Cavs organization to unload him while they can for good trades, draft picks - whatever it takes - just to get this traitor out of our city.

Yes, I said traitor. We have been accusing Cavs management of not putting together a team that could win the NBA championship - hmmmm - could LBJ be the real problem?  Think about it. You can't win when you have a player like James whose heart is elsewhere - and he has made it very clear to Cavs fans he would rather be in NYC.

If he doesn't want to be here, then buh-bye, Lebron - and don't let the door hit you in your loyalist New York behind on the way out.

Go Cavs!  But why think we'll do it with Lebron? Why keep him if he feels he has to play for the Cavs kicking and screaming? Maybe it's time we grant him his wish.

Right now, I'm wondering who will end up with CC Sabathia since the Indians are in last place and is showing no life other than a handful of players.
With the problem of Lebron wearing a Yankees hat...who cares? The only thing I care about is the Cavaliers getting players around him to get a NBA Championship to Cleveland. The other question is why would Lebron want to go to New York other than David Stern wants him there? The Knicks are a worse team than the Cavs are.

tem123,

First of all, the NBA commish has nothing to do with where players end up. If he did, that would be a clear conflict of interest and would draw the ire of other NBA teams. You may be missing my point. You state that all the Cavaliers have to do is to get players around him to get an NBA championship to Cleveland.

Why? All LBJ talks about is NYC and how it is his favorite place to be. I stick to my point that James has no long term loyalty to Cleveland and northeast Ohio and, personally, I doubt if he ever will.

As far as C.C. is concerned, we all knew that this would be his final year with the Tribe. It's just coming a lot sooner than we expected - look for him to go National League. He swings a mean bat and there will be teams begging for his services.

goldenthroat...Come on now, let's be realistic. Lebron has always been a NY fan ever since he was a kid, so why should he change that? He loves this city and will play his heart out for us so who he roots for in Baseball is not our business, who really cares. As long as he does his job for the CAVS and is not wearing a Pistons or any other b-ball teams hat we should not care who he is a fan of. So what if he loves NYC it has no relevance on how he plays for us.

Concidering your a "sports public address announcer" you should know that Lebron really has no one that he can depend on to make the plays. He needs at least 1 to 2 players at least to help make the plays, he can't do it on his own.

I'm getting real tired of hearing people complain that we aren't winning a championship and boohooing about this and that but their the same one's that are singing Lebron's praises when we're winning but God forbid we lose a game or Lebron has a bad game they want to bitch, If your a fairweather fan then find another team cause if you were a true fan, win or lose you love and support them, and wish them the best of luck for next year.

I would rather see a team in Cleveland win a championship. If the Cavs don't do that then they WILL lose Lebron James. The Indians didn't win last year and for all intensive purposes CC Sabathia is gone. However, you don't feel the need for a Cleveland team to win a championship. But I have been in New Hampshire for over 10 years now and I have seen Boston win championships in baseball, football, and now in basketball.
I'm sick and tired of Cleveland teams getting close but won't do anything to get to the next level and fall back two steps!!!!!

So where did you read into my comments that I didn't feel the need for a Cleveland team to win a championship? I NEVER SAID THAT! FYI - I grew up in northeast Ohio and, like long-suffering Indians, Cavs and Browns fans, hope against hope that someday we'll have a championship trophy to brag about! It still hurts to think about game 7 against the Marlins when Jose Mesa was put in to replace Mike Jackson and then it was buh-bye baseball and World Series!

And what died-in-the-wool Browns fan can forget "Red Right 88"? Or "the Shot" and "Shot 2" during the Cavs quest against the Bulls?

Your point is well taken. But how can that be done when a player's heart isn't here? Can you spell "J-I-M T-H-O-M-E"? The "pride of Peoria" - as the late Casey Coleman called him - began getting overtures from the city of brotherly love - they wined and dined him and he bolted.

Right now, NYC is desperate for an NBA contender. They would love to have James play for them and you'll never convince me that he wouldn't go if the deal isn't right. James is poised to become the highest paid player in the NBA, if not in ALL of professional sports. Do you think the Cavs organization can come up with those kind of bucks? James will go where the money is and as he continues his love affair with NYC, they'll beg, borrow and steal for his services. I'll bet a steak dinner on it.

Yes, I do agree with you if the Cavs don't do it they will lose LBJ. But I stick to my point that I wonder if they have ALREADY lost him? So don't read anything into my comments that aren't there.

I'm wondering, are you equally fed up with the thousands of Indian fans that rooted for the Giants against there home team, because Omar was on the Giants? They even booed the Indians pitcher when he stuck Omar out. Talk about traitors. Personally, I'm greatful that we had the opportunity to have LBJ on our team for the years that we've had him. He's a good player, and can go anywhere. I don't feel that he should be condemned for his personal choices. At least there healthy choices. If LBJ wants to play for New York, then by all means let him play without convicting him. He's not chained to Cleveland, and he's being honest. Screw being politically correct. At least he's honest and not a phoney.

I agree waterlover, I couldn't have said it better myself. For decades good, even great players have played for Cleveland and left for their own reasons. Lebron is young and he isn't phoney but people don't like when someone's keepin it real and staying true to themselves. It took alot of balls to show up at an Indians game in a NYC hat, he knew he would catch hell but he was true to the team he has been a fan of for years, how can you fault him for that? Everyone is always speculating and assuming, it's not 2010 yet people, we still have 1 season to see what the Cavs managment can put together for him, so let it be.

When LBJ signs for the biggest contract in NBA history in 2010 it will NOT be with the Cavs. This has absolutely nothing to do with what you call "staying true to yourself". It's his continued questionable loyalty to the city and the region that has supported him from the get-go to play for the CAVS and his unabashed loyalty to another city. It's interesting that you forget that, after the Tribe made it to the ALCS last year, and after a major public outcry, LBJ decided to be seen wearing a Tribe ballcap.

For James, it isn't even a money issue. The man is a gazillionaire just from his product endorsements. What he'll make in NYC will be nothing short of chump change compared to that.

Being a fan of a particular city's teams is one thing. But James' words and actions have made it extremely clear he'd rather be in the Big Apple - and I can't wait for your reaction when he is actually gone and playing for them.

I think you'll be singing a much different tune.
