Why is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame even in Cleveland?

I don't get it - I just don't get it.  Why did the city of Cleveland ever go after the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when for years now it seems no one there gives the south end of a north bound horse about the induction ceremonies being held in New York City?

From the get-go the Big Apple has hosted this event. Why? Is Cleveland embarrassed to fight for this for some unknown reason?  This would be like holding the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremonies in Green Bay!  I lived in Stark County for 23 years and, believe me, the city of Canton would declare war if that happened! 

Hasn't Cleveland rolled over and played dead long enough about this issue? When will the powers-that-be at the R and R HOF put their foot down and say "enough is enough, the inductions will be held in Cleveland. Period!"

Oh, wait a minute - I just checked and that falls under the "when hell freezes over" category!

I think the Browns have a greater chance of winning a Super Bowl, or the Indians a World Series befor we get the Induction Cermonies. I agree why is it even in Cleveland, the place is empty everytime I go down there, it really is a shame... we could really market that to be a big money maker for the city.

I don't think it's up to the Rock Hall. The officials in New York make that decision and they always choose New York, because it is a bigger venue, more hotel rooms, etc. It WAS here once - the first year after the Rock Hall opened. I think the Rock Hall here would LOVE to see them come back, but can't do much about it. Just another "slam" to the city of Cleveland. We shall be the "butt" of jokes till the end of time!

CLEVELAND IS A LOSER FOR EVERYTHING FROM PROFESSIONAL SPORTS TO POLITICS & THIS ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME WAS THE BIGGEST JOKE YET.I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THERE & DON,T INTEND TO EVER GO.I HATE TO FEEL HARSH ON THE CITY BUT ITS THE PEOPLE WHO RUN IT & IT DOESN,T SEEM TO GET ANY BETTER.
