Barrack Obama did not vote to authorize the failed and immoral preemptive invasion and occupation of Iraq.

John McCain did vote to authorize George W. Bush's invasion and occupation of Iraq.

There is a clear choice.

People who love war and occupation and want us to stay in Iraq forever can vote for Warmonger John McCain.

Those who want us to leave Iraq and don't want to stay there forever can vote for Obama

Every Senator who voted for the Preemptive Invasion and Occupation of Iraq who doesn't beg for forgiveness and apologize should be ousted from the government immediately regardless of party affiliation.

Notice that almost all of the senators who voted against the foolish and immoral invasion of Iraq were DEMOCRATS!

The only Republican Senator who voted against the preemptive invasion and occupation of Iraq was Lincoln Chafee! And he isn't even in the Senate any longer!

So the choic is clear- if you oppose the Occupation of Iraq, simply replace the Republicans (nearly all of whom supported the invasion and occupation of Iraq) and once that is finished, one by one replace all the Democrats who voted for invasion and occupation (since many of them have realized their mistake and none of the Republicans have)

I counted 30 democrats that voted yes also, I guess that says alot about who is to be blamed. I love how the democrats act like this was a republican war. Bush did not make the decision alone. Democrats are warmongers and so is Gorbash who supports the democratic party.

George W. Bush is a Republican. He instigated the War as Commander in Chief.

This war was his idea- and he is a Republican.

If things are "getting better" or we're "making progress" in Iraq as George W. Bush and the Conservatives have been saying- then why wouldn't you want to take credit for the Iraq idea? It was the Republican idea after all!

Think about it! Almost ALL Republicans voted for the War in Iraq, supported it not just by voting, but by going on the news and telling everyone what a great idea it was and how Democrats who voted against it were terrorist sympathizers and cowards.

In fact, Liberals and Democrats who marched against the Invasion of Iraq were often arrested by Conservative police forces on trumped up charges because Republicans called anyone who was against the war a traitor.

This is a REPUBLICAN war. REPUBLICAN president, REPUBLICAN-controlled congress. A person can NEVER win in politics. Had these Democratic senators opposed the war then, they would be called "traitors" and "anti-American" and "unpatriotic" because Bush's fales information made it look like it was justified to go to war. Now, when these same people actually try to end that disaster, they are criticized again. Apparently now it's "unpatriotic" to save the lives of American troops.

That's one of the reasons why I'm going with Obama. First off, he didn't vote for or against the war. Second, he was opposed to the war back then. Obama cannot be called a "flip flop".

Polar Bear, This is NOT a Republican Congress. Democrats have numerical control but don't have any cojones to do anything!!! As for Obama not voting either way, I guess that lets him off the proverbial hook, now he can continue to flip flop either way, depending, of course, how the political winds blow. Typical Democrat.

At the time the vote for war came up, it WAS a REPUBLICAN congress and there was a REPUBLICAN president.

You know damn well why nothing is being done now. With an almost 50/50 split and Bush being veto-happy, nothing will get done. Maybe if the Democrats had a 2/3 majority, we'd finally be out of this damn war and our country would be in better shape.

Vote for Barack Obama!!

gamer, good info. i posted this as well, awhile ago. but alas, the democrats in here made one lame @ss excuse after another for THEIR part in it. (the dems in congress). how funny that GW BUSH has "mind meld" powers & can FORCE the congress to vote the way HE wants them to. (sarcasm here).

Republicans controlled Congress and the Presidency.

The Iraq mess is a Republican mess and everyone knows it- they knew it in 2006 when they showed their anger- and if they have any sense they'll show it again so that we can have enough votes in the Senate and a Democratic president to get out of Bush's mess in Iraq.

Bush told the entire world that Iraq was a threat to the U.S. -but that turned out to be untrue. Democrats AND Republicans who believed him should be held accountable (but first we have to stop the bleeding of blood and money in Iraq).

"The Iraq mess is a Republican mess and everyone knows it"

The Iraq war is an American problem, and Liberal Democrats who don't want to victory are not Americans.

They just want to round people up who have different views than their own, and kill them.

Liberals want America's enemies to win the war because they hate America.
