Its funny to think people in this day and age (or churches) think that a book will make  kids into witchcraft. How many parents out there had to stop there kids from casting spells after reading these books?

I don't know why I am so amazed at who people can interpret a child's fictional book into the practice of witchcraft? Then wonder why world leaders and another nations are losing respect for Americans!

At this rate perhaps Harry Potter should be pulled from bookstore, these people might start there infamous witchhunts and burning at the stakes again...

Although I never could understand if these witches had so much power do you really think they would have let you set their a@@es on fire?

Unbelievable indeed.

those people are crazy!!! I applaud this author for encouraging kids to use their imanginations. With a book you can become anyone and go anywhere in the world. I say those that have these crazy notions in their minds that just bexause a kid reads about witch craft doesn't mean they want to practice it. Those people can stuff that stuipd notion.

I really really wish that those of us who practice Wicca could cast spells like the media shows... I would wiggle my nose and take care of the world's problems... oh wait, our tantra- harm no one- too bad.

asnapper - Go ahead and read the book and see if you can cast a spell. Did it work? Thought not! Just reading a piece of fiction cannot cause anyone to put a spell on someone! Oh, and don't watch any Disney movies either, asnapper. A wicked witch might make you eat a piosoned apple or put you to sleep for 100 years. There are far worse things in life influencing our children in their daily lives than Harry Potter! Drug ridden neighborhoods, violent video games, murders on the news every day, etc.
I've read all the Harry Potter books except the latest one. Trust me, if I could twitch my nose and make all the idiot bloggers disappear, I would have done it a long time ago.

More Censorship! I wrote a comment yesterday on another Harry Potter blog and they deleted my comments! It was a comment I wrote right below yours gamer. I said if she was so worried about Harry Potter then she should not let her children watch Disney movies, because there are no talking fish, dancing penguins, animals that talk in the woods or fairy princesses. Then I challenged her to ry and cast a spell and see if it would work.
The truth hurts, and so she deleted my response. BLOGGERS - IF YOU DON'T WANT OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS, THEN DON'T WRITE A BLOG!

This person wanted everyone to read the Bible and pray to God instead of reading Harry Potter. I stated that Harry Potter is ENTERTAINMENT. I asked her if we should just stay in church and pray all day and never play sports, go to work, have a vacation, play games with the kids? I stated there was room in our lives for God and entertainment. I guess she didn't agree!

Could you imagine if the Wizard of Oz would
just be released today? Think of all the future
witches that would create :)

I had a post deleted on the other Harry Potter post too... all I did was explain that Wicca, what many call witchcraft, is nothing like the Harry Potter books, that Wicca is not about wiggling our noses and casting spells... The O.P. deleted me because I don't believe in her god...

in a similar response that i typed yesterday to another blog on this same subject:

the same people who hate harry potter are the same people that consider The Wizard of Oz a classic. they are the same people that read Hansel and Grettel to their kids. they are hypocrites.

i cannot believe that weirdos consider that reading a book is bad. i never thought i'd say this but if you don't like freedom...if you want a book to be banned...then get the heck out of a democratic nation...you would feel more at home under the taliban's control...where the book is indeed banned.

I might be young but I think I have more sense in my little pinky than all of your rolled up into one...You can't see the forest for the trees..Then you want to go crying..What happen to my kids they are little demons..You cant mix witchcraft and the Bible..its like messing with a Ouija board.
