SENATOR KENNEDY????

No I don't mean Ted. Who by the way says he will step down. I am talking about Caroline Kennedy who is one of several people expressing an interest in replacing the possible out going Senator Hilliary Clinton. (That is if she wins approval to the appointment of Sec. of State). So I guess all you have to do is go to Gov. Patterson of New York and tell him you are interested in the job. RFK Jr. and Bill Clinton have told the Governor they do not want the job. So Gov. Patterson who himself has the job by default will make that decision. Why isn't there a special election? I don't like the idea of someone making that choice for the State Of New York or any State for that matter. The People should decide. Well then again maybe I'll move back to New York and give the good Governor a phone call......
I was reading Joe Battenfeld's blog on Dianne Wilkerson (Bye, Bye Wilkerson). As I read the responses, I decided I would write one also. I found I was going on and on and decided it needed a blog of it's own. Don't get me wrong, I don't want this to sound that I condone what she did in any way. As a matter of fact, I wrote a piece when the story first broke saying how discusting what she did was. One of the responses In Joe's piece started "JUST ANOTHER TYPICAL LIBERAL". Like in the history of the world there has never been a crooked Conservative Republican. Anyone remember the lines "I AM NOT A CROOK"? I am sure if I Google crooked Republicans I would get hundreds of pages to go through.
Again what Dianne Wilkerson did was terrible and may even deserve a prison sentence, but now is not the time to gloat. Those people in her district put their trust in her. For many years she has done good for them. What makes a person go bad? Who knows...Everyone thinks they are going to be the one that gets away with a crime. But to pin this on ALL LIBERALS, is certainly not right either. God knows how many other's out there will fall from this and other crimes against government.
In a strange way, this reminds me of the Priest Scandal. One day it was only one Priest who was diddling with boys, the next the whole Church fell. It's a sad day, when we vote for someone and they let us down. It has happened before and you can be sure it will happen again. This crime and other's are equal opportunity, Democrat and Republican, Liberal and Conservative.
One other observation if I may. Joe you throw these things out here and people fight back and forth. I find that rarely if ever do you come back to respond to any of the chatter going on. It's almost like you are sitting back laughing at us. I hope that is not true.
IT'S NOT JUST ME......

I have been criticized for criticizing President Bush in the past. His days in office our numbered. I haven't been the only one out here or for that matter any where with something not nice to say about the out going President. As a matter of fact, In the history of poll taking, Mr. Bush leaves office with the lowest ratings ever. That's right folks, a whooping 76% of the people disapprove of him. The only good thing he has done for the USA, has kept a terrorist attack on our shores. That is seriously a real big thing. Unfortunately the public feels that was not enough.
One week to go and I am completely numb. Obama, McCain, Sununu, Shaheen, Questions 1, 2, 3. I am sick of it all. Republican, Democrat is it over yet. I'm for this and their for that. I'll make your life better and they are full of poop. He did that and she did this, or is it the other way around. Months and months of name calling and false accusations. Is this the price we have to pay? Can't someone make a law to stop this? Can't we have one more question? Question 4, No one can run for office and run 300 politcal ads a day. Yes, my name is Fenwaydav and I approve this message. Or do I?
I watched the last debate, (well kind of). I have to admit to flicking back and forth to the Phillie's whip the Dodgers (at the point of this writing). Here are a few questions to the readers out there.
1) Did anything change your mind?
2) Are you glad that this was the final debate?
3) Who the heck is Joe the Plumber?
Over and over and over again, I'm losing my mind. Same questions, same answers, please dear God enough is enough. Is it me or does it seem like this election has taken years to get to? I sit and watch this thing called debate and like a deer in the headlights I just stare into space. I don't hear them anymore. The only thing different is the moderator. Tom Brokaw you should stay retired. I blame you Tim Russert for dying. He tells the two that they are not paying attention to the lights. TOM, you are the boss.... Tell them to shut up. The next debate, I will be watching Frazier or Golden Girls....
The Republican Party is going to have their Convention starting on Monday, or are they? The Convention which is to be held in St. Paul, may have to be put on hold. John McCain said today that if Hurricane Gustav hits New Orleans on Monday, the convention should be delayed. He doesn't feel it is right to celebrate in the wake of peoples sorrow. I may agree with the principle, but I feel like it is still a bad idea. Regular people are already in St. Paul waiting for the convention. Unlike McCain these people just can't say let's do it another day. Hotels, transportation and other accommodations are already paid for. Senator McCain is not being realistic to himself or his Party. The show must go on.....
Talk about taking the wind out of Obama's sail's! John McCain chooses Alaskan Governor as his running mate. Sarah Palin who is 44, and that's 3 years younger than Obama. She lives 30 miles north of Anchorage and if you think Hillary had a cold touch just watch out for this lady. This is fresh of the presses so as soon as I can readjust my jaw that has dropped to my knees, I'm sure there will be more to say. Sorry Mitt! Not really.....
Why must we be kept reminded that on this big night for Barrack Obama that it is the anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I've got a Dream" speech? Why also in the next sentence a J.F.K. comparison is mentioned? We all know what happened to those 2 men and I feel like the press is trying to remind the people of the U.S. and the World. There are alot of nutty people out there that might feel like they could save the U.S. by doing something crazy, and what better night than the anniversary of a historic speech. I truly hope it is my morbid mind making something out of nothing.
With adoring eyes Bill Clinton watched Hilary give one of the best speeches of her life. I watched and only wished that it was a speech thanking her party for the nomination. It wasn't. It was a speech that if there were any doubts they should be laid to rest. She wholeheartedly gave her support to Barack Obama and in turn asked those who supported her to now give that support to him. It will be interesting to see if this actually helped Obama's campaign. Like they've been bosom buddies for years. The harsh words of the months before have been now turned into a absolute love fest. In a very short time, I predict by November we will see the out come. If Barack should lose (which I think he might) We will see Hilary in 4 years again run for President.
John Kerry is being challenged for his bid for Senator for the first time in the 20 years he's served. In his first commercial a Veteran states how Kerry helped get his Purple Heart awarded to him at Fenway Park. He also threw out the first pitch. Yes John Kerry has done wonderful things for Veterans, but what has he done for the rest of the State?
Over the past several weeks, He's been in the news or should I say in front of the camera. Who could forget his anorexicly thin body riding a bike in the Pan Mass Challenge. Another wonderful cause to help raise money for Cancer. If he was running for President, it would have been one of those Dukakis moments in a tank. I have a rule, never vote for anyone in a helmet or spandex. Am I the only one that has noticed his face is a little more young and vibrant? That was also questioned during his bid for President. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with ironing out some of the wrinkles, but it shouldn't be the reason we vote for a Senator or President. If I had his Lurch like looks I would do everything I could to try to change them.
I am not saying that our 2 Senators should be replaced, but maybe it's time to look at other options. It is very unlikely Kennedy will seek another term, so maybe it's time to start from scratch. Lets give some new blood a chance and put a stop to these life long terms. Are you listening Mayor Menino?
Friday, will be the day when a little town in New Hampshire becomes the biggest place on the map. That is the day when Senators Barrack Obama & Hillary Clinton start what some are calling the real beginning of the race for President. It was in this town that they each recieved 107 votes. There is going to be a rally of a crowd expected to be around 2500, that far exceeds the population of 1700. Call in the Fire Marshals. What is the symbolism behind this town of Unity New Hampshire? Could this be the place that Obama announces to the world that Hillary will be his Running mate? I seem to doubt it, but it will be like a made for TV movie if he does. This is where Hillary will ask her people to through their support behind Obama. Will they? Will See, Won't we.....
This afternoon, I watch Senator Hillary Clinton endorse Senator Barrack Obama. In the 20+ min. of her speech she thanked the 18 million people who stood behind her. What will happen to all those people? She asked that they throw their support behind Obama. 22 debates later I as one of her supporters will now have to look at the whole picture once again. One thing will be who the running mates are for both Obama and McCain. I truly don't believe he (Obama) will pick Mrs. Clinton, nor do I necessarily think he should. This race seems like it's been going on forever and some very big names have dropped by the wayside. She said she ran as a daughter whose mother would never have dreamed of the opportunity she had. She heads to her home in New York for a deserved rest. I know alot of people out here can't stand her and no amount of talk will change your mind. She knew that also and under different circumstances things might have been different. She's disappointed and so am I. Life will go on. (I hope) If Obama becomes President, there will be a role for Hillary in his administration. Secretary Of State has a nice ring.
I'M EXHAUSTED......

It seems we have been hearing speeches and watching primaries since Bush took his second term in office. They need to change our primary system in a big way. The candidates start campaigning way to early that by the time the elections come you go into the booth and just vote to get it over with. It starts out with twenty or so and one by one they drop bombs of lead. Finally when the primaries start we have over 6 months of mud slinging and name calling.
This is my proposal 2012. We hold the primaries according to your time zone. Candidates can start advertising in Sept. and on Jan. 2 the primaries begin. first week the eastern time zone votes, followed by central, mountain and west. No need for conventions. Winner take all. No debates till after this point. The whole process should take 6-7 months. I'm sick and tired and I'm not going to take it any more. Yeah Right....
Yes you read it right. Hillary Clinton should leave the Democratic Party and run for President as an Independent. I think this would be her last chance to win the race for President. The Democratic Party has deserted her and she should do the same to them. Let Obama get the Democratic nod and McCain the Republican. Let the people vote and have three choices. If Nader runs well have 4. I think this will be her best shot to win the Presidency. Most of the people that support her say they would not vote for Obama. I won't! I would never forgive myself if I don't vote, so I would vote for McCain or waste my vote with Nader. She needs to do this quick and get people use to this radical idea. I want Hillary to be the next President of the United States. The Kentucky Derby had more than 2 horses run the race. Look what happened to the second place horse. It fell down broke both of it's ankles and was put down.
