When you sit down to your Thanksgiving dinner and your passing the squash and the green bean casserole, I hope thoughts of Sarah Palin don't remind you of that 20 pound bird that graces your table.  First the vision of hundreds of turkeys packed into a space that would make the best of us a little claustrophobic.  Standing in their own waste and that of other's.  As the Gov. spoke to reporters what was going on behind her was to put it mildly discusting.  When told by a reporter she said that was all right and continued the interview.  Now don't get me wrong, we know our food doesn't always have happy endings from production to table, but we don't need to see animals slaughtered  in front of  us.  I see the campaign trail has not left her any wiser.  With a multi million dollar book deal just signed and wearing a $300.00 scarf I find she has the class of a dumb hick Alaskan.  So at the table this year I hope you sit down to Grace and bow your head and thank God she won't be sworn in as our next Vice President.  Meatloaf anyone?

fenwaydav - when Sarah Palin first came on the scene she seemed like a breath of fresh air, but I would still have preferred Mitt Romney on the ticket. Now with this latest lapse of judgement I'm just shaking my head.

It would have been one thing if this setup had gone un-noticed by her, but even after it was pointed out she just continued with the interview totally uneffected by the scene going on behind her.

I still have no faith in Obama/Biden and the thought that Pelosi is 3rd in line is very scary, but when McCain signed off on the bailout bill I lost all faith in his ability to bring change.

Romney/Jindal - 2012

I think it's pretty stupid that the media (and bloggers) continue their vindictive, pointless Sarah Palin bashing.

We all know she's a hunter and has probably field dressed a deer or two in her time so the sight of blood doesn't bother her (I find nothing appealing about hunting so it is beyond me but that's besides the point). Let the poor woman go back to being Govenor of a state that loves her and where stuff like this is as commonplace as idiot drivers in Boston.

Enough is enough.

RealAmerican, I would love to let Sarah Palin go back to being Governor of Alaska. I don't go out of my way I assure you looking for Sarah Plain stories, and the fact she is a hunter doesn't necessarily bother me. She can shoot every last Alaskan for all I care. But to be interviewed NATION WIDE with a blood bath of turkeys behind her is gross.

Why is the media (and thoselike yourself who hate her) sooooo obsessed with this woman. If you find her so offensive, and dumb, why waste time reporting on her or for that matter blogging about her....it must be for the sport of it!

And as far as the "discusting" (how about disgusting) nature of the video...get over yourself....that's how the turkeys that you eat are slaughtered!

If you can't handle it....stick to your meatloaf!

Obviously, Sarah Palin does not have a monopoly on lack of class!

What is wrong with this country?

Our entire society is made up up of pre-packaged commercialized agoraphobics. How do you think turkeys get on your table? Every year, my family gets a turkey from Bonji's in Duxbury. When you go there, you can see the turkeys that survived.

In the old days, they would take an ax to the head. What that guy was doing looked like the most humane way to butcher a turkey I've ever seen.

I could see if the thing was bleeding and kicking and squawking, but it went out nice and quiet like.
Am I the only one that looks at the steaks in plastic wrap at the store and think, "if we knew where most of this came from, many of us would have a different diet."

Sarah lives in Alaska, people! They hunt moose and caribou for food for survival. The fuel cost on imported proteins are too high. they have to thin the wolf herds for survival of the population....of humans. And turkeys get slaughtered at Thanksgiving.

Grow up people. You live your lives in a bubble. No wonder we go to war so easily. Most people have never stood over a body, or buried a son!

This reminds me of the time I was eating at a restaraunt with some friends. I ordered the veal and my friend ordered a steak.

After we ordered..my friend said to me..."how can you eat veal...do you know that it comes from a slaughtered baby calf?"

I turned to her and said..."how can you eat steak...do you know that it comes from the baby calf's slaughtered mother?"

Now, whenever I eat out with this friend....I order veal and she never says a word about it!

Dave - when you're govenor, you're in the spotlight. I'll bet other govenors were in this type of situation (I'm sure she is not the only Gov to pardon a turkey - Clinton certainly did as President) but the reality of where we get our Thanksgiving meal from either wasn't caught on tape or just wasn't splashed across the front page everywhere.

Face it, the classless, liberal media is so PETTY, they continue to attack her even after their guy won.

Your comments about her "million dollar book deal and $300 scarf" were just about as tasteless and pointless.

No comments about Obama sending his kids to $30,000 a year schools? Didn't think so....
Where are all the blacks? They should be criticizing him as being to much of an "Uncle Tom" to have his kids go to school with theirs. They attacked Colin Powell (before he kowtowed to "his people" and public opinion and endorsed Obama) with such terms, but I guess that's DIFFERENT...

Listen Guys(and Gals), I know where our food comes from, I don't need lessons in veal or poultry or even popcorn. Do you know how many ears of corn it takes to fill a large order at the movies. (I don't and frankly I don't care)
Yes every Governor and the President Pardons a turkey. It's a stupid gesture if you ask me. I didn't get be the obese person (since my surgery, I am now just a heavy person) eating soy beans. I insist she's an Idiot for doing an interview in front of a tub of blood. I didn't do it she did. Yes almost every morsel of food that passes our table made it there threw the slaughter house. If it were the days when we had to kill what we ate I assure you I would be in the back yard killing squirrels if need be. Luckily I now go to Shaw's get my abundance. I have been called classless and more. I may even be a hypocrite because I love veal even though I know from the minute the are born till the day before they land on my plate, they are in pens motionless. Sarah Palin's Interview was like her pardoning someone on death row while others hung from a noose in the background.

As far as The Obama children going to public or private school, that's a whole other arguement. I know if it were up to the Obama's their children would be right there in public school. How real is that.

TheRealAmerican...just to clarify your point...that's $30,000 times 2 for 4 years! I think Sarah's $300 scarf pales in comparison!

Oh...and I wonder what B.O got paid when he wrote his book (as a sitting Senator)!

No wonder this country is in the shape it's in....we are more outraged over a governor doing an interview in front of turkey's being slaughtered for food for a National Holiday.....than we are about our own governor chastising the citizens of this state for being cynical about all the corruption going on here!

I had to laugh about everyone's reaction to the Turkeys getting dispatched....why do you ask? because I don't eat my Turkey alive...

and it also reminded me of a day when I was sitting in DEC'S Cafeteria with a beautiful buxom blond....an we were talking about a eating a fish an cleaning them an some how in the discussion she replied You guys eat dead Fish? we all laughed out loud.....why do you eat yours alive?

It was sort of a Jessica Simpson moment about the can of tuna she was eating and thought it was Chicken...because it was a can of Chicken Of The Sea.....

Dave - I didn't say YOU were classes, but I did find those comments you made to be so (and for that, I won't apologize).

Anyway you look at it, it is ENTIRELY UNNECCESSARY to continue to castigate Sarah Palin given the least opportunity.

The woman is Govenor of Alaska and yes, she's getting a lot to write a book. But A) WHO CARES?!? - I'll bet you didn't make a scene about Obama making even more on HIS book(s)and B) it's HER money to spend as she sees fit - I'll bet Michelle Obama has a few in her closet next to her "look, I dress just like you commonfolk" clothes.

You guys got the White House, let it go. There's NO rationalizing further attacks on Sarah Palin unless you're still trying to delude yourselves into thinking she really is evil...

BTW Dave, why not chastize the media group that shot the footage? I didn't read anything indicating Sarah Palin was behind the camera, the TV crews are the ones that control that...

TheRA,

I don’t think dav really cares anything about Palin. He saw the video of Palin standing in front of a bunch of turkeys being beheaded; all the while she’s dressed for an evening out on the town. Take it for what it is, a rather humorous place for interviews by the media don’t you think, and dav just brought it to everyone’s attention with a little added humor. Let’s not get all mavericky on poor dav for posting a rather humorous blog. LOL You have to admit, putting politics aside, it was funny don’t ya think? LOL

Dave, you've been here long enough to know that this is all a liberal conspiracy and the cameraman is William Ayers' brother-in-law.

Ok, TRA, I'll chastise the media group AND Sarah for this one.

I couldn't care less if she was standing there with a one of a kind Vera Wang gown, but I agree with Fenway that I didn't have to see the turkey being killed in the background. Shame on her and shame on the people video taping that. They could have asked her to move. We ALL know that meat isn't born nicely packaged like we find it in the supermarket. We all can imagine that experience is not pleasant for any animal still....no one want to actually see it! Does that make us hipocrites? Maybe, sure, but it doesn't make the video any less disturbing. Fact is both she AND the videographer could have moved and spared us. I know she is a hunter and it doesn't bother her (and that's great for her), but it doesn't mean it'll have the same effect on the rest of us. This was disturbing and tactless at best on everyone's part. While I'm here, I would also like to say that Fox could have also helped by warning that the images may be disturbing. Thanks Fox!

I have a better idea everyone. NEVER EVER allow our elected officials to olet you see the real underside of your own behavior.

Oh, by the way, dave. I'm the son of a chicken farmer. My grandfather and father worked with chickens...poultry.

For the record? I hail her for being there...and I'm a bit offended you have such disdain for MY upbringing.
