WTF is wrong with the plain dealer printing that cartoon of that little girl? That had to be one of the most insensitive things I have ever seen in my life!! The nerve first of all of the artist that did it, true enough that was wrong of him, but the editor should have known better than to let that garbage go to print!! That little girl was murdered in the streets and all the plain dealer thought of was trying to insult the mayor!! So what the mayor knows the family, that has absolutely nothing to do with her being murdered. They should of been printing a story on how we can stop all this senseless violence!! Her family is greiving and they have to open the paper and see that garbage, what a horrible feeling that mother had to have felt seeing her child depicted as a joke!!! I was hurt and she wasn't my child!! Bottom line Plain Dealer you were dead wrong for that and I hope her mother sues you for emotional stress!!!!!!!!!

Yep I was really shocked too when I saw that on the news. That was in extremely poor taste!

Fascism is growing in America, and we need to do something about it!

I don't get that paper except on Sundays for the coupons so I didn't see it, only seen what they reported on the news.

That was SICK. I highly doubt if it was the daughter of the Editor of the PD or Artist it would have ever been made or put in the paper at all. You sick bunch of individuals.

The paper claimed it was a poke at the mayor, but anyone could tell it was making fun of Cookie. That drawing looked like it was making fun of her. They DEFINATELY could of found a better way to attack this lousy mayor without offending Cookie's grieving family.

The paper's "apology" was pretty, pretty weak
if you ask me. Its almost like they were saying
sorry, just for the sake of saying it.

One more thing..if the PD was REALLY sorry,
wouldn't you think it would've been a good idea
to remove it from cleveland.com, where it still
can be seen?

With so many people looking for jobs, their jobs should be easily filled!! Are they professionals or high school girls?

High school GIRLS? They would probably be more sensitive!

It was a totally unprofessional piece of "journalism" - it would have been bad no matter the age or sex of the victim, but to do this over the murder of a little kid is beyond belief! If they "honestly" meant it as a jibe at the mayor, they need to do some reporting and find a REAL problem to get on him about!

I am a mother of 1 daughter 5 years old. Pretty much my life consist of working and trying to provide a stable loving home for my daughter.Protecting her is my main focus in life! I pretty much get along with everyone i come in contact with. I respect people as long as they respect me and i respect other opinions no matter how much i disagree.
