Very well put! Most of the problem here is that roll Johnny Miranda and Pablo Kielbasa. His racist posts are nothing new and he's usually the one to make another topic into a race issue. He/she/it cannot be reasoned with. All he does is say you are wrong and insult you. I do agree that we are taking steps back. I look ate the callender and can't believe we still have this many ignorant people in 2007! When a person says they hate a group of people or post racist comments, they look like a damn fool! I wish they could see how stupid they look. Check out Gorbash's archived posts about the Jena 6. I can't believe this happened in 2006/2007(but it was in the south)

I am a white female with 3 children.You are so right it shouldn't be a race issue. It should be no matter what color you are take responsibility and teach your kids. Parents need to quit allowing the streets to raise their kids and do it themselves.

ok dick let me see saying you would KILL your daughter if she dated a black guy ABSOLUTELY makes you a racist!!! What if he was a perfect gentleman with a good job and truly cared about your daughter and provided her with the finer things in life treated her well, what if he was the perfect one for her would you still dissaprove because he's black?? if you do then guess what..... you're a racist!!! The point that you seemed to have missed is not that you should listen to our music and dance with us, but simply understand that we are all people good, bad, or indifferent,we stiil need to set examples for our children so they don't grow up in a world of hate, our parents did but we don't have to but it seems that it's coming down to that. I've never had it in my heart to hate anybody and it just baffles my mind that people can hate a whole race because of "some".

Unfortunately there will always be ignorant people who have to spew their racist BS.If we can somehow realize we are all in this together we will be better people.

Good post, however do not let ignorance get to you. On some of these posts I respond so that the person may see just how close minded they are. Re: your daughter, I feel that she will be o.k. with race relations with the other kids in grade school. Some of the separation comes about when they reach jr. high. Racial hatred is taught, and in a lot of cases by the parents. Case in point, during Army basic
training I was a squad leader. One of the troops was from Kentucky and as first would't talk to any of the black's in the platoon. Towards the end of basic training he started to talk to me and two days before the end of training he told me that his father taught him that blacks were beneath him, that we were no good and a number of other things. He saw that what his father had taught him was not true and he was having a hard time having to face him with the truth. I just told him to learn from the experiences that he had and not to argue with his father but to see things with a clear eye. The thing that got to me the most was that he grew up in a cabin with a dirt floor and still used a outhouse at home when I had the good life compared to him. The point is this has been going on for a long time, so we just have to continue to abide by the golden rule. If you have noticed young children in a group, they tend to play together whereever they are. They don't know about hate or even the difference of color. Just will you play with me.

Take the country over? How about taking over inner-city communities first and getting rid of the criminal element like the low-down dirty dogs that killed that precious, innocent 12 year old girl this week.

You must learn that “racism” is a part of the American fabric. It is not going to go away. But you know WHO you are. But even more, you need to know WHO you are culturally as well and not fall victim to some form of self-loathing and self-hatred. I don’t know why you have your daughter in an all-white learning environment, but you might want to reconsider and find a more diverse setting for her. She deserves and needs to interact with peers from her own culture as well.

I applaud you for your upfront & honest comments, but don’t run away from discussing race. Refusing to discuss the race issue is not going to make it go away. Confront it head on, just like you did now. And don’t be afraid to confront and counter racists like Pablo, schannel, Miranda, etc...ALTHOUGH I AGREE WITH MOST OF THE WRITERS – they deserve to be ignored. But also, It doesn’t make YOU a racist to give them a dose of their own rhetoric.

For example - don’t allow racists to use the “criminal element” to stereotype YOU or your race. As I said in one of my earlier blogs – I don’t care what the percentages are, white people commit entirely too much crime to be trying to use it to stereotype people (I got called a racist for pointing that out). The "white criminal element" isn’t used to stereotype white people – don’t allow racist people to do likewise to African-Americans.

You noted that African Americans have been in the news for committing crimes. What does that have to do with you, me and millions of other law-abiding African-Amer
