In the news I read of two 3yo twins having been left in a hot car for two hours, they died of course.

My idea; sensors in the car that set off a loud alarm if someone leaves anything in the back seats when the driver leaves the car.  I suppose one could say the driver and the driver side passenger???  Well it would put off putting groceries there etc... but would save lives...

Either that or make intelligence testing madatory for having children(?)

Their should not be no testing, no warning signals nothing. Are these people stupid. How in the hell can you forget that your kid is in the back seat, come on now. I dont care if you have been doing the same routine for 20 years and then 1 day boom it changes to forgot that you have your child with your is just plain stupid. These parents need to go to parenting class.

People ignore car alarms as they're sounding while someone from East Cleveland is stealing a car.

Do you really think this would be any different?

Personally I think all cars should have built in fans to the underneath that turn on when it's hot, and off when it's cold. Thus, preventing ANYONE or ANYTHING from dying inside the car or trunk. What a horrible way to die.

As a mother, I can't imagine forgetting about your child, they are a foot away from you, are you serious? How ignorant are people these days? I have a lot of stress in my life right now and my mind is racing a mile a minute with work, finances, and all types of other crap but my kids are always on my mind, so I really could care less what their excuse was for forgetting their child but I'm sorry, it's not good enough. STUPID STUPID STUPID PEOPLE.

I always check my car, looking in the back to make sure that I haven't left anything out that would attract a car theif. It makes sense right. So the kid is quiet and asleep, you forget, but you check the back as a habit and you'd see him/her. If you are on illegal drugs though, I am not sure if you would actually see anything at all.....

I am a US Navy veteran and belong to a local VFW post. I support our troops and their families. Not just with empty words. I write our president at President@Whitehouse.Gov when I read articles concerning these kids and their families. I offer advice to our president too. Please, write him to assist these kids when you read of them receiving bad water and food, and when they lack appropriate safety equipment. They need our help. They need to be represented by more people than me. Write and email your other politicians too. Don't wait. And vote, and make sure your vote counts!
