i am tired of all the truck drivers getting the bad raps on everything. not all drivers are bad. what bothers me is that if there is a wreck or something the driver is the one who gets the bad publicity. people dont realize what a truck driver has to go through driving everyday, the cars that pull out in front of them and the cars dont realize that a semi cant stop  on a dime.  people need to thank a trucker. if it wasnt for us how would you get all the things you buy at the store. its trucked in. my husband has over 2.5 million miles driven accident free.

i just want to say thank the truckers who do for us what we cant do for ourselves!!

next time you are at a stop sign or a light stop before the white line, its there for a reason.

thanks all  be safe out there.

I AGREE WITH YOU. I ALWAYS MAKE IT A POINT TO STOP BEFORE THE WHITE LINE AT A TRAFFIC STOP, INFACT I STOP ALITTLE FURTHER BACK ESPECIALLY IF I NOTICE A TRUCK WILL BE TURNING MY WAY. PLUS I ALSO WANT TO THANK THEM FOR GOING REALLY SLOW IN THE WINTER TIME BECAUSE I FOLLOW THEM. ITS ALOT SAFER THEN SOME OF THESE ATHER IDIOTS SPEEDING WHEN THERE IS SNOW ON THE GROUND.
A DOUBLE THANKS TO THEM AND THE HARD WORK THEY DO

It's like everything, people have no patience unless it is in their everyday life.

thank you for supporting truck drivers.
my husband has been a truck driver for 38yrs. He has a very hard job. everyone thinks trucks can stop on a dime...NOT EVEN A CHANCE. Four wheelers are the ones who make the most trouble for truck drivers. Running through in and out of traffic and then four wheelers(a car, if some of you do not understand the language) slam on their brakes and think that truck can stop..Not hardly. Especially if they have a trailer that is loaded. Does not give excuse to truck drivers who fall asleep at the wheel. The new laws for driving the logs are five hours on and then you have to take a brake and then five hours more of driving in a day. Truckers have a very difficult time to get to their destintation, traffic, truck brakes down, load not off the train, or cannot get it out of the rail yard.

my husband was grandfather into driving truck. That is when you had a chauffer's license. You can drive motorcycle, bus, truck. He has been driving since 1969. My husband and I have owned our own semi for fifteen years. The cost and expense we have to endure is difficult. Especially since the cost of disel has gone up. State of Ohio $2.94 and sometimes in another state your paying over $3.00. We have to pay taxes, for fuel, license plates ($2500.00 a year), highway use tax. All the repairs we have to pay for and nothing is under a $1000.00. Tires for the truck are $300.00 and over and not even consider if you brake down out on the road away from home. Horrible. Then people give truckers bad raps. Think about it, everything comes to this country by boat, train then truck. If truckers would stop for three days no one would have nothing in the stores, no cars, no car parts, no food, no clothes and people think that the merchandise comes automatically. While you are at home on the holidays with your family a trucker is out there making sure you have your goods you need for your family meal, or giving your kids christmas presents or buying your wife that new car, or new diamond ring.

Next time you see a trucker and just move out of his way. Do not hang back by the end of the trailer, just keep moving past him. You do not know if a tread will come off that tire and hit your car or the car behind you. Just remember not to pull out infront of the trucker(s) because they cannot stop like a car. Truckers that are true to their jobs are going to help you out anyway they can. Thanks for the ones who did support truckers. Thank you very much.

My hubby drives too. I get very nervous sometimes when he calls me and tells me some of the stuff that people do on the roads. He just went over his million mile safe driving mark. I think everyone that drives a 4 wheeler should take a minute and look around at all the idiots around them and what they are doing on the highway and realize they are probably doing the same thing. People in 4 wheelers need to remember one thing... When you tangle with a big truck, you will almost always lose! Be careful out there people! I want my husband home safe and sound!

Thanks ohiogal. I love it when a trucker gets ready to turn and some dumb four wheeler goes across the white line and the trucker keeps coming and I think they need to run them over. Unfortunately, insurance companies don't like it. Then you get the idiots who do not want to move. Think about it what if that trucker was bringing fuel to the gas station you were going to? And your doing nothing but swearing at them and calling them all kinds of names, yet your happy when you get to fuel up. Maybe be simple minded example, yet most people think like that.

Its a known fact that 99% of all truck drivers
either...

a. Have a 3rd grade education.
b. have two teeth
c. a serial killer
d. all of the above.

I'm suppose to thank them for that? Sure.

Well people, I rarely say anything negative but our last dumbsayer, AKA...jclguru, must be a pure idiot. To make such a stereotype that is so assanine, really does not need a intelligent reply but I have one.

I bet jclguru did not complete 2nd grade and is using a "COMPUTERS, JUST FOR DUMMIES" and a Websters Dictionary to enter his comments.

I bet jclguru had a set of false teeth once but now only has 1/3 of those teeth because he opened his mouth at a T/A Truck Stop and some intelligent truck driver knocked some sense into him....looks like he still needs some more sense!

A serial killer???? jclguru must be watching too many VCR Beta reruns of the movie "DUEL" with the late Dennis Weaver on his black & white tv and tries to adjust his picture by using coat hangers as rabbit ears. As fact, I look at his picture above, and it reminds me of one of those child predators you see on NBC's "To Catch a Predator" Usually serial killers start out as Child Predators, maybe we as all good blog writers and readers should report jclguru to the local authorities? How don't we know that this person is already molesting minors, sacrificing animals and his next step, "A SERIAL KILLER" with a 2ND grade education, and 1/3 set of false teeth.
NOW, THATS SCARY! I'm Out of here!

thank you rcr340. great comment.

well jclguru, at least what your sitting on, using the computer, a truck driver brought it to you. you should be thankful, because that is the only way you will get it.

people do not think. does not matter what kind of truck got the merchandise to you a truck brought it to you. just pray for people like jclguru, God put people on earth to give us a test and we have to love the dummies too....

dummies are smarter than this one. I would love to run into this thing on the streets. I think we need to just ignore him..he is getting his "jollies" listening to the negativity he gets.

Thank you to all you truck drivers out there. I am one that also will stay back when I see a truck making a turn. I learned this from my daddy. I only had a problem one time with a semi-truck and that was in Chicago...but then they all drive crazy there. I have had more close calls from car drivers tahn semi drivers.

thanks to all for your support on this issue. if forgot to add that i think all kids before they get their licence should be mandated to ride at least 8 hours in the jumpseat ( passenger) seat to see what a 4 wheeler does everyday and to get an up close look, may have less wrecks for young kids, hope it would make them slow down and be more cautious. thanks all.

i have an uncle and a brother-in-law who are truck drivers and not just the semi truck drivers need to use the roads for their business their livelihood, UPS, FedEx, and DHL some of these drive high profile vehicles and in wind storms it gets much more difficult to control still they are out there 24/7 probably risking their lives to bring you that stuff you bought off the shopping channel.

I totally agree. My father was a truck driver and many times would tell me about the crazy cars that would just pull out in front of him and expect him to stop or get over for them. He also has 20 years, accident free! So HE'S a good driver...it's the other people out there that just don't care. I try to be helpful to truck driver's whenever I can because of my dad. SO TRUCK ON!!

If we all pass on the word to ignore the chix wings goofball. He just wants to stir the pot. We all know he probably is so lonely. He reminds me of Danny Partridge. If we just move on he'll get bored and probably go back to his boring life.

I think that everyone getting a new drivers license should be required to ride 50 miles with a trucker to be initiated on how stupid and inconsiderate four-wheelers are. I had no idea what truck drivers had to go through until my husband started driving truck twenty years ago. It makes you want to stop traffic whenever possible to let a truck turn in front of you or to make sure you hurry up and get out of the driver's blind spot on the highway when you pass him. Not all truck drivers are serial killers as someone thinks. When my elderly parents broke down on the highway the only ones that stopped to help were truckdrivers. The driver stayed with them to make sure their car would keep running and even followed them to the closest gas station that was open to make sure they were safe. This happened late at night so I don't have to mention how glad my parents were to have been helped by this good samaritan truck driver. Thanks to all you drivers out there.

Heck yeah! Thank the truck drivers! I agree that they have a trying job. Who else is going to get all the imports to those shelves so we can buy it for a dollar!

I completely give truck drivers a round of applause for all the crazy loads they are given and the crap they go through everyday...but unfortunately there are also many jerks out there driving a truck too. I have countlessly had to swerve to avoid accidents on the freeway...day or night. It's sad because even though there is a law where they are only to be driving for so long...many of them rig their logs or the load wouldn't get there on time. My husband is an ex_truck driver. He has many nightmare stories of idiotic people in 4 wheelers. He also has many idiotic stories on truck drivers who think they are all that just because they are behind a semi with the attitude of get out of my way or I'll hit you. Just 2 weeks ago I had a semi from Sidley's trucking ride the bumper of my escort on a normal road and was even blowing his horn...I was doing 5 mph OVER the speed limit to get him off my butt. Then when me and MY KIDS turned on our street withplenty of warning...he flicked us off. Today I was on Interstate 90 and a semi lost control, hit a gaurd rail, tore the road up and backed up traffic for hours. I am greatful to the REAL truck drivers out there who deliver with safety to all. I also believe the cops should be aloud to pull the swurvers and reckless driving ones over and demand they take a drug test on the spot. What's the problem with it as long as your clean???
