I'm not keeping up with the news anymore.  Just been enjoying my retirement lounging around a lot and playing Fallout 3, it replaced Oblivion Elder Scrolls 4.  Need a cheap housecleaner, the place looks like the game almost, lol.  It is fun though to not have to worry about most things anymore, still have worries, my son sees to that.  Happy that Obama won, but still feel all politicians are liars and idiots, hope he proves me wrong is all.  I haven't even looked at my emails.  New game, no time.  Just playing around.  Hope everyone has a wonderfull holiday or holidays...  Dave

Today we salute you Mr. Ground hog, for your weather prediction that you make every year on a moments notice. To be yanked out of bed during a long wintry sleep to have to come up with a whole years worth of weather predictions. And all of that without a single thank you. I say this year we just gently knock on Mr. Ground hog’s door and leave him to ponder on his predictions over a nice cold Budweiser.

My mother went home to be with God her Creator and Saviour Jesus  , October 27, 2008 on a Monday evening. She is a great mother , a woman of faith, love and laughter. I have written a poem to honour her and share the evening she went home. I hope you all who read it will get a blessing , a joy, an uplift to your soul, or perhaps find Jesus who blessed me with such a mother and His peace- for the sorrow of her departure couldn't shatter the Peace God gave me. Of cource I miss her- I am human..but oh one day , one fine day , that Day will come when at last we meet again face to face.....

      God Came Walking

In the cool of the day, God was heard
He came walking as the gentle shepherd
And as He  was walking , He was calling your name..
In His still small voice , He whispers " Katie, Katie...
Then he stopped ,and bending low  stood by your frail frame
Yeah He came to you in the evening light
When all is quite and the time is right…
your breath was soft and quickly fading , as He took you by the hand

When one kisses the King, the Master, or the Lord is it is a sign of obedience, homage, respect, loyality, and a recongnition that He is the Lord and you His loving servant. It is a custom and an honourable greeting to your host.

Fare thee well my Mother... soon our mourning will be turned  into dancing; He will give beauty for ashes ; life for death;sorrow endureth for a night but joy cometh in the morning... I look forward to our meeting mom. till then ....

 
The Worlds Children Peace Monument
The Worlds Children Peace Monument (WCPM) is located at Coe Lake Park in Berea, Ohio.  It was designed and built by David Jakupca as a project of the International Center for Environmental Arts (ICEA) in cooperation with the United Nations Culture of Peace Program. As new WCPM Stones are added to gardens around the world, it will, in time, become the largest monument dedicated to Global Peace. The sculpture serves as a milestone for the ICEAlity of the Environmental Art Movement indigenous to the Great Cleveland Area, that is to "Assist in understanding of the relationship between Humans and their Environment through the Arts to build a sustainable culture of Peace". The WCPM was officially inaugurated in 2003 at the 3rd World Peace Conference held in Verbania, Italy by American Cultural Ambassadors David and Renate Jakupca where they received an Italian Medal of Arts. They were also recognized by the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland and in 2006 appointed Universal Peace Ambassadors. The WCPM is organized in support of the UN Decade of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World and the UN Millenium Development Goals.

My wonderful mother gave this to me today.

Is there a magic cutoff period when offspring become accountable for their own actions? Is there a wonderful moment when parents can become detached spectators in the lives of their children and shrug, "It's their life" and feel nothing?

When I was in my twenties, I stood in a hospital corridor waiting for doctors to put a few stitches in my son's head. I asked, "When do you stop worrying?" The nurse said, "When they get out of the accident stage." My mother just smiled faintly and said nothing.

When  I was in my thirties, I sat on a little chair in a class room and heard how one of my children talked incessantly, disrupted the class, and was headed for a career making license plates. As if to read mind, a teacher said, "Don't worry, they all go through this stage and then you can sit back, relax and enjoy them." My mother just smiled faintly and said nothing.

When I was in forties, I spent a life time waiting for the phone to ring, the cars to come home, the front door to open. A friend said, "They're trying to find themselves. Don't worry, in a few years, you can stop worrying. They'll be adults." My mother just smiled faintly and said nothing.

By the time I was 50, I was sick & tired of being vulnerable. I was still worrying over my children, but there was a new wrinkle?. There was nothing I could do about it. My mother just smiled faintly and said nothing. I continued to anguish over their failures, be tormented by their frustrations and absorbed in their disappointments. My friends said that when my kids go married I could stop worrying and lead my own life.

I wanted to believe that, but I was haunted by my mother's warm smile and her occasional, "You look pale, Are you alright?" Call me the minute you get home. Are you depressed about something?"

Can it be that parents are sentenced to a lifetime of worry? Is concern for one another handed down like a torch to blaze the traile of human frailties and the fears of the un known? Is concern a curse or is it a virtue that elevates us to the highest form of life?

One of my children became irritable recently, saying to me, "Where were you? I've been calling 3 days and no one answered. I was worried." 

I smiled a warm smile. The torch has been passed.

Thanksgiving Divorce

A man in Jacksonville calls his son in San Diego two days before Thanksgiving and says, "I hate to ruin   your day, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing. Forty-five years of misery is enough.
  "Pop, what are you talking about?" the son screams. We can't stand the sight of each other any   longer,"  the father says. "We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Denver and tell her."

Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. "Like heck they're getting divorced,"  she shouts, "I'll take care of this,"

She calls Jacksonville immediately, and screams at her father, "You are NOT getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm ca lling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR ME?" and hangs up.

The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. "Okay," he says, "they're coming for Thanksgiving and paying their own way."
