I created a petition that I hope my fellow Cleveland sports fans will join me in supporting. It is located at    http://www.PetitionOnline.com/clevemls/petition.html

I think it deserves support because soccer is a growing sport in the USA and Cleveland has some of the best sports fans in the world. I think it would help to boost our city's economy and create jobs and promote Cleveland bringing more people to see what the town has to offer, which includes our excellent museums, world class orchestra, and more. Also great theatre and concert venues and the beautiful Browns stadium which is underused.

Do you really think that Cleveland would support a MLS franchise? I don't. There are soccer fans in the more affluent 'burbs, but Cleveland is a totally different animal than Columbus.

While Columbus is every bit as rabid when it comes to its football team, it has a much larger white collar base than Cleveland. This makes for more soccer fans overall and fans w/ more $$ to spend at the games (not to mention that Columbus proper has double the population of Cleveland).

Also, why would have the prospective MLS team to play in Browns Stadium as most of the other teams playing in smaller soccer only stadiums. Columbus started the trend with Crew Stadium which is smaller than Ohio Stadium. One of the few teams that play in a big stadium is the New England Revolution.
