bugspit, yes be careful, but be clear that you will not tolerate being bullied.........however you have to.

one of my son's tolerated the bullying for way way too long, and no matter what i said to him, he just didn't stand up for himself.

then, one day, he snapped & whooped the snot out of some kid in front of EVERYBODY....sure, he got suspended, but he took care of his bullying problem right then and there.

i'm not advocating that violence is the answer to all of your problems there kid, but the only way to handle a bully is to stand up to them & not back down. usually, a bully will run away with his tail between his legs crying for his mommie (so to speak)

the most important part of this is: STAND UP FOR YOURSELF

why don't the vice principal get involved?

if the "bully" is so hard up for school supplies there are organizations out there that can help.
there's always a reason behind the action. peel off the layers and you'll find a child who's afraid the world going to strip everything away from them. lacking the skills to help himself and have low esteem, he lashes out. very sad.

joshua yes, you are correct about what's underneath it all, there's always something.

trust me bugspit, the principal or vice principal isn't going to succeed in doing anything unless you're in a very small school. and if they DO get involved, it will probably only make things worse for you in the long run.

Remember kid: if you don't stand up for yourself, no one ELSE will either......
