Just wanted to remind all of the non-smokers to get out there and support the bars and restaurants starting Thursday. Non-smokers have waited a long time to have the opportunity to visit some of these establishments. Don't forget to tell the establishment that you are visiting BECAUSE you no longer have to breath the second-hand smoke! Enjoy!! There are numerous places with excellent food and atmosphere that are on my list! Have fun!

Good news as well, all public places have to post a no smoking sign with an 800 number on it. We passed this law we need to make sure everybody follows the law. If people smoke use that number and frequent all the places you didn't go because of smoking.

Like I have said before and I will keep saying it I feel that they should "BAND" of people froom wearing after shace, perfume, hair spray..but not deordant...because all of these things can be a health factor to some, it affects their breathing too so while I sit here and smoke my cancer stick do have a good day !!!

I'm with ya Lovely! Like the gentleman said on television. "As long as they make, and sell cigarettes, people are going to smoke them!" I really don't think this is going to work. If I get caught smoking, I'll pay a fine, then go smoke a cigarette..... Sure, it's not healthy, but what about all the other chemicals in the air that are so strong, our ice caps are melting causing global warming! Personally I think this is going to cause more trouble than the non-smokers think. It's just a glitch, that'll pass!

OCarney....I feel the same way and I too will , if I am in line outdoors when there are other people around, I will "SMOKE"..I have been around people that they wear very strong perfume or after shave and it takes my breathe away and I begin to cough....Gee whats wrong with this picture?

You all have freedom. Freedom to put in your body anything you want (no matter how bad it is for you). You just don't have the right to poison the rest of us anymore.

Pikie. You are right but just like I said before, we have a right not to be around someone that is wearing perfume or after shave when it affects our breathing, so I say "BAND" all that too because that is and can be a health factor to some, so let both sides show respect to everyone.!!!! Have a good day.

Yeah, some of that perfume makes me sneeze. My ex husband had a perfume allergy that gave him an instant headache and bad cough. You are right about showing respect. My best friend is a smoker, but very courteous.

Yes! Non-Smokers! You have led such the sheltered life with all the baaad smokers out there.. Make sure you go out in droves to all the public places you've been dying to visit but couldn't because of all the high levels of toxic air from smoking..

I can't wait to see the turn out.. I'm sure the news will report it...

I wonder if there will be any reports on the news from drunks getting into huge fights outside in the subzero weather while they were smoking..

On this, the eve of December 7th, the date that has lived in infamy, I'd like to make a suggestion to everyone that disagrees with issue 5.

It's important, whether we agree with the law or not, that we as citizens obey the law.

I encourage EVERYONE to call the RAT line at:

1-866-559-OHIO
1-866-559-6446

To report EVERY violation (or suspected violation)

As it's an 800 number, the health department gets to pay $0.15/min from a private phone, and $0.60/min from a PAYPHONE (call is free to you)

Starting at 8:00am on December 7th, start flooding the lines with EVERY violation (being a good citizen) and help the health departments roll up a HUGE phone bill, as well as having inspectors scrambling all over the state to investigate.

Good things to report:

1) Ashtray anywhere near a door
2) Lack of signs on all doors (including churches, synagouges and company vehicles)
3) Stray cigarette butts inside any non-exempt building
4) ANY receptacle (not just ashtrays) in prohibited areas (Could be a flower container outside a door, vase inside the bar/resteraunt, etc)

Any other ideas are welcome.

Let's help the enforce this to the Nth degree!

Please follow this link to work with other people that disagree with Issue 5:

You asked why it's such a problem now that the tables are turned. Well because it's an addiction (that we pay alot for)!!!!!! Compliments of the advertising industry, government, big tobacco, definetley is politically motivated. Don't fine us, fine the ones who are the real murders!!!!
