I have visited a number of bars and restaurants that are complying with the state 'no-smoking' law. It has been over a month now and I am finding that I have reduced the number of bars that I can visit because of the delay in the enforcement rules. PLEASE let everyone know of the local bars that ARE COMPLYING! I realize it will only be a handful but we should push to support those who are following the law.

Just curious--When did the government start issuing Executive Orders that give the day off to their employees when a former President dies? I can recall that they did this for Reagan. Did they do it for Nixon back in 1994? What is the purpose of this order? The order states that it "shall not apply to those offices and installations...that the heads thereof determine should remain open for reasons of national security or defense or other essential public business". Why does the Post Office close? Is it not considered essential public business? What business does NOT rely on the day-to-day functions of the Post Office? What other federal office should not be closed? Just a topic for discussion....

Just wanted to let everyone know that Applebee's is following the law! In fact, ALL Ohio Applebee's became non-smoking as of December 4th! I WILL be visiting them more often!

Also, please be aware that smoking violations can also be reported at nosmoke@odh.ohio.gov.

I am having so much fun at the establishments that are following the law! I hope you are, too!

Just wanted to remind all of the non-smokers to get out there and support the bars and restaurants starting Thursday. Non-smokers have waited a long time to have the opportunity to visit some of these establishments. Don't forget to tell the establishment that you are visiting BECAUSE you no longer have to breath the second-hand smoke! Enjoy!! There are numerous places with excellent food and atmosphere that are on my list! Have fun!
