The story about hogs eating tainted food is a scary one. I think deep down, we are all expecting to find out that human food is tainted. Perhaps a plot to end obesity? Finding poison in pork would create a panic situation.

We all have heard about the evils of processed food. Ever read the labels? Humans have also been eating foods with wheat gluten and rice protein. Also. what in the world are natural flavors? Melamine?

Pork prices will soon be cheap. Who wants to take a chance in eating tainted meat?

Hogs aren't the only thing. All the animals that are used for meat have tons of chemicals put in them. I am not saying stop eating meat but better start buying organic.

Would you trust any labeling "organic?" Sure, organic food is government controled. Are you saying you would trust the government?

no I don't trust the government but I also don't eat meat so I don't have to worry about it. I do believe that there are some farmers who don't use chemicals. Who knows how many. But I do buy organic fruits and vegetables when they aren't too expensive. You can usually tell if something has chemicals in it or not with vegetables just by the way it looks. They are usually smaller.

I would love to buy organic food EXCLUSIVELY....if only it weren't so darn expensive. The hormones that are used with livestock are affecting our kids, I have no doubt. For example: Anyone notice that girls are menstruating at a younger and younger age? As the father of 3 girls, I'm already planning my "escape shelter" for when that happens!! ;)

Yes, and that's one of the reasons I don't eat meat! Also, organic foods are becoming more affordable as more people are buying them. Hang in there! Trader Joe's has some great organic fruits and vegetables and doesn't cost much more than regular veggies and fruit.

Hey you guys, remember the spinach with e-coli bacteria? That was organic. Perhaps it came from the "all natural"and organic manure they used as fertilizer.
I do buy organic eggs...the yolks are so healthy looking and they taste better than those pale, cheap ones. I wonder what they feed the chickens that produce the pale ones? Styrofoam?

Even organic food is not 100% safe. Nothing is in life. But it's better than the other products laced with artificial everything, hormones, pesticides, etc.

girlscout I agree with you there. Yummy antibiotics, hormones and pesticides, there is nothing better then that. I will stick with the organic food when I can too.
