Can someone please tell me if the pollen count here in Cleveland is higher than normal this year?  I've always had sneezing and itchy eyes around fall due to ragweed and it's easily cleared up with Claritin.  This spring I have been congested and unable to breathe - the doctor says it's seasonal allergies (tree pollen right now).  I am on Nasonex, Claritin and Sudafed!!!! Sometimes it's still bad for me so I've taken to wearing a mask outside doing yard work. The funny thing is that my neighbor, who has NEVER had an allergy to anything is also congested and can't breathe well so I gave her Sudafed which seemed to help.  I checked on pollen.com and most days seen to be medium high to high around here.  Was it always like this for tree pollen?  Did I just develop an allergy this year?

during the antebellum era cleveland was known as pollenville....it was only after the mayor of pollenville...justin cleveland...raised a division of volunteers and took them under his personal command to the ohio river to invade the confederacy and defend the constitution that the name was changed....cleveland and his irregulars managed to capture the western most five counties of virginia before he was struck down by a terrorists bullet (he was shot in the back from a passing buckboard) in his honor president lincoln renamed pollenville cleveland...and those 5 counties became the free state of west virginia in 1863.......incidentally...a buckboard was the pickup truck of that day

Fuberea, is it worse this year for you? Today I am sneezing like a maniac! I took a regular Claritin this morning cause my eyes were itching---now I can't stop sneezing, but at least the congestion is temporarily gone.

Pikie! Yes, this season they say is the worst they have seen in a long time. I don't suffer terribly, but I do find myself sneezing and not having a cold, or a little bit of a scratchy dry throat. Nasal passages seem to be a little too dry sometimes. It has got to be terrible to suffer so badly with allergies. I have an extremely mild case compared to what a lot of you are going through! Good luck to all!
