I caught McCain's speech the other day about the economy and about working across party lines. Aside from the fact that he went on about other stuff not quite related to the economy about disease and warfare, which seems odd to me after he suspended his campaign, he managed to studer and loose his place on where he was speaking (which I wouldn't hold that against him)  But it seems like he was using the speech not so much to encourage bipartisanship but rather like another campaign speech, which makes me wonder, is this whole suspending of the campaign stuff an actual attempt to help America or just a petty attempt to help himself. He did make some good points, although I am undecided as to wether or not this bailout should take place or not, his statements that excutives shouldn't be making money off American taxpayers was a surprisingly non-conservative statement. But I'm interested on whether or not other people think this is a poltical or legitmate move. Perhaps it is a little bit of both?

On a more satrical note:

If McCain is suspending his campaign, does that mean all the political ads will be suspended to? lol

and also this, from Tom Toles, who is one of the best Poltical cartoonist I have ever seen.

Psyche, I'm not really going to vote McCain.

Instead I have a question for you republicans.... "What is it?"

First you say Obama is a radical muslim, now you say he is a communist. But there is one problem, a radical muslim would be on the extreme right while a communist would be on the extreme left... so What is it?

By the way, if your going to make a comment saying something like "psyche? what are you in 5th grade or something?" I just spreading the misery you right wings are causing me with all these nonsensical Obama attacks.

This has to be the most violent Political Cartoon I have ever seen. Although that isn't counting amateur cartoons, like any that refer to McCain as McC*nt, although most of those are just vulgar.

I am forwarding this from a friend on LJ, she very rarely posts on politics, so when she does, you know to take it seriously.

Oh wow...

Okay, I don't usually get politic-y here. I figure if you friended me, it's pretty obvious what my political beliefs are so I don't usually go flouting them in other people's faces.

However, Sh*t likes this makes me see red [   http://www.michiganmessenger.com/4076/lose-your-house-l

If you are planning on voting this party in yet again, I urge you to seriously reconsider. When a group is so powerful that they not only feel like they can pull this BLEEP with people's Constitutional rights and have in fact gotten away with it in the past, you have serious, serious issues of balance here.  If you continue to elect people that bend the laws and put things into practice that are illegal, immoral and just plain rotten, what do you think will happen eventually? I'm not saying vote Democratic, I'm just saying look at the slope we're carreening madly down. I don't want to live in a tyranny and I'm pretty sure no other Americans, whether they be conservative or liberal, really want that either.  Only a small, small percentage of nut jobs do, and we should be doing everything we can to limit the amount of damage that they do. That is the great ultra-conservative lie, that Americans ALL think and want exactly what they do....and unfortunately a great swath of Americans haven't actually sat down to think about what exactly the end results of this political movement's goals will be. I tell you this much, it won't resemble a democracy." - Darkelf

This is pretty funny, I love the art style though, it has an anime-esque feel to it.

Well, I was kind of bored so I took my shot at a political cartoon. It does feel though like the incarnation of all of McCain's ads thus far. But don't take it to seriously

Throughout this whole campaign I hear this and that about Obama being inexperienced and this and that about democrats doing this and saying that simply for votes.

Well how ironic is it that now John McCain picks a lady who has been a mayor of a town for a couple of years and governor of one of the least populace states for only a short time. The big irony here is that you know the only reason McCain picked her was for the Hillary Clinton votes, surely not for her grand level of experience.

Thanks to my school I found this test http://www.quiz2d.com/quiz/which measures where you stand politically. I was a bit surprised by my result. I was classified as a Left-leaning Freedom Lover, which does describe me but I didn't expect my opinions to place me in the Libertarian group.

You desire substantially less government control of personal activity and somewhat less government control over economic activity than is presently the case in the U.S. I used to classify this area as part of “Moderate Libertarian;” but got many objections; I guess calling you a moderate libertarian is akin to calling a liberal Democrat a moderate communist.;”

Your views would be best represented by a mix of Libertarian and Democratic representatives—assuming that it was possible to get a significant number of Libertarians elected. The Libertarian Party is still dominated by people far more radical than you though there is an ongoing effort to make the LP more inclusive and less radical. If you have the patience and willingness do deal with infighting, you may want to join this effort. Or, you might find my proposed new party more to your liking.

Approximately 14% of the takers of this quiz scored in this area.
