I am forwarding this from a friend on LJ, she very rarely posts on politics, so when she does, you know to take it seriously.

Oh wow...

Okay, I don't usually get politic-y here. I figure if you friended me, it's pretty obvious what my political beliefs are so I don't usually go flouting them in other people's faces.

However, Sh*t likes this makes me see red [   http://www.michiganmessenger.com/4076/lose-your-house-l

If you are planning on voting this party in yet again, I urge you to seriously reconsider. When a group is so powerful that they not only feel like they can pull this BLEEP with people's Constitutional rights and have in fact gotten away with it in the past, you have serious, serious issues of balance here.  If you continue to elect people that bend the laws and put things into practice that are illegal, immoral and just plain rotten, what do you think will happen eventually? I'm not saying vote Democratic, I'm just saying look at the slope we're carreening madly down. I don't want to live in a tyranny and I'm pretty sure no other Americans, whether they be conservative or liberal, really want that either.  Only a small, small percentage of nut jobs do, and we should be doing everything we can to limit the amount of damage that they do. That is the great ultra-conservative lie, that Americans ALL think and want exactly what they do....and unfortunately a great swath of Americans haven't actually sat down to think about what exactly the end results of this political movement's goals will be. I tell you this much, it won't resemble a democracy." - Darkelf

Your friend is exactly right. What gets me is we have seen what the last Republican administration has done to this country, everyone is complaining about our rights being taken away, people losing homes and jobs, the cost of gasoline and food and the amount were paying in taxes and health care. Not to mention the National debt, the bogus war in Iraq and over 3000 service men and women losing their lives. And at the same time Americans are complaining about these issues, they start to lose sight of those very things that has caused them to lose the quality of life in this country and start getting sucked in by a pretty face, lies and deceit all over again.

How can Americans fall for this same old tactic again for a 3rd time? If we fall for it again the Republican Party will laugh all the way to the white house, and continue doing what they have done to us for the last 8 years. We have not given them any reason to change their ideology or tactics because we continue to vote them in office. With this being said, why would things be better with McCain/Palin what incentive have we given them to make them want to change what has worked for them for 8 years and then again for another 4 years.

Are we stupid or what? I don't believe that most Americans are stupid, I do know they are some that are. We need to take a good long hard look around us and make sure this election is about the issues.

We don't need a President and Vice President who’s only Agenda is kicking down doors and who seem to love conflict. The only thing the Republican ticket can talk about is war, wa

war and more war. The only vocabulary John McCain has is POW, Georgia, Iraq, Russia this is what is foremost on his mind. They do not talk about the issues facing us Americans by having/presenting an economic, health and tax policy that is going to work for middle America. We need to compare their polices, if we can ever get them on the topic of issues instead of attacking Obama.

They are trying to sucker us in again and I wonder when it gets right down to the wire on Election Day, if Americans will come to their senses? I wonder how many will be scraping pennies to buy gas to get to the pools, how many will lose their jobs that day, how many will find their home in foreclosure that day and I wonder what these people will do when they go to the poll? Will they think about the hottie for vice president and the prisoner of war, who continues to live in the past, for President? Or will they think about their economic situation and their quality of life and cast a ballot for the Obama/Biden ticket.

WAKE-UP AMERICA!!! WAKE-UP!!

Hittokirri, America is the best and we are on a level plane. Our moral imperative cannot be denied. Have faith, vote Obama. I will keep America the America you want it to be.

I am 19 years old, a raised Catholic but Agnostic and I work at a bowling ally as a pinchaser (also known as a pin monkey). My hobbies include reading manga, playing chess in which my ELO rating is 1135, watching anime, messing with technology although my internet slang vocabulary is rather poor, and I am a 4th Kyu (green Belt) in Traditional Chinese Kenpo where I am also participating in Shoot-fighting. I intend to teach Karate for a living. I'm not the kind of person to boycott, protest or march because of something, whether or not I believe in it. However I would like to note that I have been boycotting McDonald's since August 2007, I intend to continue until they offer the regular menu at all hours. My website is http://jinchu.weebly.com/
