Have you ever really tried your best and hardest to do something that in your very core, your bones you felt was the right thing to do and have it fall to crap?

Example. No secrete on the supply runs to Ferret’s Dream House. Count of surrenders from the farm is 800 plus.

No secrete I use priceline.com for rentals since the shelter’s vehicle is a wonder ride. Had a couple people say they have items to send, they went shopping for them to help fill the van.

Cool. So I do my priceline.com thing, got a rental. Things are fine so far. Went this morning and go to pick up the mini van. They said nope. Will not do it. I ask why? They say, that is a debit card. I said, no this is a credit card. A Pay Pal credit card. The only thing we use for rentals. They refused to take it. (National/Alamo car rental) spoke to the manager.

Even though there has been a history that they accessed from the shelter renting from them with the same exact card, they said no. Now, the young woman says, let me get the manager, the manager comes out, says no, he will not over ride it. I ask what has changed since the last rental? He says nothing. (We are talking 72 hours here folks)

He says it is priceline.com’s fault. They say it is Alamo/National’s issue. Priceline will issue a refund THIS time, but chare the shelter $25 for a cancellation fee.

Now, I called the headquarters of Alamo/National. Moreover, they tell me, since the credit card is not tied to a bank account they will not take it. Doesn't that make it a debit card then? Moreover, if that is the case, they do not accept debit cards. HUH????

They would not take the shelter’s debit card either. I have really been trying hard to do the right things.

No one will ever understand what I am feeling right now. I am so frustrated. How many times do you ever hear of over 800 animals being surrendered to ONE shelter?? I mean really. How many times do you hear that shelters are trying to help each other??

Seriously, I have been trying really hard to get help from Northern Ohio for this. Channel 19 was going to come out and do a story, last Tuesday, 10 AM. Cool I thought. Maybe people will start to realize that this is serious. Got a call a few minutes before they were to be here, they had lots of call offs, can we do this at 11? Sure. Got a call right before 11, too many call offs, can we do this tomorrow? Well, I am going to Lynx, Ohio tomorrow with the supplies I have, and will not be back until Thursday. Ok, let’s do it Friday 11 AM. Friday, 11 AM, got a call about 15 minutes before they are to be here, and there are too many call offs. I am not even going to schedule it again. We will work it in sometime. I

t is the same few people all of the time that step up to help. When I was going through cancer treatments Lori, was the first person to step up and say, let me take some of the ferrets in your shelter to help lighten the load. We had 60 plus. She took 35. Through the years, she has been there for this shelter. It is only right we are there for her.

The number of animals itself is staggering. 800 plus. And trying to come up with just some help seems impossible. Coming up with help for this shelter is impossible. Why do I think it would be different just because there are so many?

A chance to work together!! A chance to help one another! A chance to put differences behind us for the good of some helpless animals!!

Does this shelter help other shelters and people? Yes, we do. Doesn’t matter what type of animal, if we can we help. We donate.

Right now I am very frustrated, and in a very dark place. We try not to ask for help too much, we try to do the right things, we try to help others.

Well, time to go find another wall to bash my skull against. The one I have been bashing my skull against it messy. I keep bashing my skull to find answers, but do not find any, and the skull will not crack.

The last two supply runs have been supplied by either the shelter, or two or three people.  Please, we need your help Northern Ohio.  This is the largest rescue ever.  These are the conditions they were rescued from:  http://www.flickr.com/gp/86248467@N00/49L0so

The family who ran that farm closed it.  I can show anyone requesting it a copy of the signed surrender form.

Donations are tax deductible.  Please help.

When: Leaving Wednesday, October 3, 2007 8 AM.

What is needed:

Heavy duty welding gloves
Disposable rubber gloves
Gatorade (for volunteers)
Poweraid(for volunteers)
Water (for volunteers)
Garden Hoes
Heavy duty push brooms
Heavy duty garbage bags
Energy Bars (for the volunteers)
Cereal Bars (for the volunteers)
Floor squeegees not wider than two feet
News paper without the shiny ads
Paper towels
Laundry Soap
Bleach
Disposable bedding (fleece cut into 8 x 18 strips)
Wal-Mart Gift cards (super Wal-Mart 1/2 hour from shelter no other shopping near by - they are in country!!)

Again, if you would like, you can donate to this shelter and tell me what you would like to have purchased from you. I will do your shopping.

Last trip, Debi donated $250 and I did the shopping. She got to help, got a tax deduction, and didn't have to shop.

Come one Northern Ohio. Let's fill the mini van.

OK, this may be a bit out there, but it would be nice to be able to stop and pickup a bunch of groceries for a cook out for the volunteers.

Last week someone had donated to cover the rental of the mini van, and the gas, it would be nice to have that happen again. We rent through priceline.com to save money.

Our current van '91 Chevy Lumina APV is dead, tranny, power steering, ac, exhaust. She bled out in the driveway. 253,000 miles on her and her frame is rusting out.

The shelter's station wagon, '93 Ford Taurus, 189.000 has an electrical short and other problems, making her a wonder ride. So for things like this, we rent just to make sure Shelter Mom gets there and back in one piece.

Please help, and please help spread the word.

Thursday I finally got a rental, well I had to settle for an SUV because i couldn't get a mini van through priceline, got it for $30 a day including the tax. Not bad. Enterprise wanted $60 a day for a minivan!! The difference paid for gas.  Remember the shelter owns two "wonder" rides.

Pictures of the farm can be seen here:  http://www.flickr.com/gp/86248467@N00/49L0so

Got an email from two of my Akron volunteers, let them know at 10:00 PM, I got an SUV, and if they were still up for it, come on down, two SUV's full are better than one. Our new volunteer Jim, came to help us load, and at the last minute I called Rick in Stubenville, he drove up to help too.

We got to the storage locker, and Laurie says, "We can rent a trailer, I used to haul a horse trailer, so I am used to it". We go to see if they had the ball part. The storage place we were at didn't but a mile or so away, there was one who did. So we went there, while Jim, Jane and Rick loaded the rental SUV.

We got to the second Uhaul place, and Laurie got the hitch part, and we were going to rent the trailer, got it hooked up, and no wiring harness. It would take $100 and at least an hour to put it in. Time is our problem, so we said no.

Back to the storage unit. Laurie and Jane chatted. they went up to see what renting a box truck would cost. (I already knew, $19.95 a day plus 99 cents a mile) The manager came down on the mileage, and called corporate to find out if he could come down lower, but they said no.

Laurie and Jane came back with a 10 foot box truck, and we filled it. Everything in the locker that could be used. All of the Marshall litter boxes with the bolt on it, all of the bedding donated for the rescue, and blankets. (Trust me not enough) all the cages, yes all of them the new ones and the few used ones we had. If it was usable for her, it went.

No, these sisters are not rich, they work a normal 9 to 5, they charged it because they felt it was the right thing to do, and knew the shelter was already doing everything it could.

All of this was purchased for the new building. And no matter what I tried, I banged my head on a wall, it seemed like road blocks continually got put in the way of the building, so all this had to be stored somewhere. Maybe it was fate telling me that it would be needed else where, and the time wasn't right for the building because this was going to happen. I don't know, I'd like to believe that there was some type of Divine intervention because of what was to happen.

We drove down, took 5.5 hours, she lives in a very remote area. She had four helpers that day. None the day before. Lorie is tired and running herself ragged.

I did bring back some kids 13. No they are not ready for adoption. If you want to help, adopt some of the kids that have been here for awhile to make room for some of the other farm rescues. Or please donate to help with the vet costs.

Now, we are going back Wednesday. I plan on leaving at 8 AM. You have today, Monday and Tuesday to dig.

She needs, paper towels, bleach, laundry soap, dish soap, hand sanitizer, toilet paper (yes, with the people popping in and out the bathroom is used) snacks for the volunteers, pieces of fleece cut to about 8 x 18 (serves to cover the wire in the cage and a blanket), trash bags.

If you would like me to bring a donation on your behalf and hand it to her, I will. Gift cards from Target, Walmart, Kmart all can be used too. Needed items like listed can be purchased with them.

If you would like to give Lori a special gift as a thank you. Wrap it up and I will deliver it.

If you are bring stuff to fill up a mini van for the second trip and want a tax receipt, make sure to see me, or leave the receipt with your name, address and phone number. I will give you a tax receipt so you can deduct it.

Come on let's help. Let's fill a mini van, and a station wagon!! Please.

Yes, he did.  He has gotten to the point the feed companies would not deliver without having the bill paid off and put him on COD.

A fellow shelter in Lynx, Ohio, Ferret's Dream House pulled off the impossible.  Currently she has over 500 at her shelter and home and needs supplies and funds.  She will be picking up the additional 250 plus on the 29th.  She has paid for food for the ferrets remaining.  It is a matter of room, she is making sure they are cared for until they can be removed.

The ferrets are being distributed throughout the United States via ferret shelters, but that is a slow process, and supplies are being depleted as quickly as they are brought in.  Yes, some of those poor babies will be coming here to Northern Ohio to find loving homes.

What am I asking of you?  Dig through your closets, do you have baby blankets you don't use?  Do you have a bag or two of yesterday’s news or feline pine?  Can you afford to make a donation?

If you can, please drop it off at 4116 Bucyrus Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio.  I will make as many trips down and back as I have supply loads.  Please Cleveland, help.

If you can make a small donation, please send it to Ferrets Unlimited, 4116 Bucyrus, Cleveland, Ohio  44109.  Mark it for the DMK rescue.  I would love to be able to hand her $5,000.00 to help with all the costs she has already incurred.  I would love to show the ferret community across the United States that Cleveland Cares.  We are 501 c 3 and donations are tax deductible.

I rented an SUV (cargo vans at over $60 a day or $20 a day plus $.20 cents a mile just is cost prohibitive.  Shelter mini van is DOA, and the shelter’s station wagon is a wonder ride.  (You wonder if you’ll get there and you wonder if you’ll get back, besides, I had to have it towed back FOUR times.)

Everything we have assembled for the shelter building we are trying to have built will be transported down to her.  18 ferret nation cages, 8 misc. cages, bedding, litter boxes, and anything else I can find in that storage locker.

Please Cleveland, we need your help.

Well, it seems that this breeder doesn't like us, and must be getting pressure from the USDA, and other agencies.

At the moment I am extremely frustrated.  For years, I have been writing letters, making calls, filing reports on a mink/ferret farm in Morrow County.

HSUS, ASPCA, USDA, Health Department, Animal Control, Sherif, you name it.  The Animal Control officer just shrugs her shoulders, the judge in that county thinks animal abuse and neglect cases are a waste of time.

The Morrow County Health Department visited in March, told him when it warms up, clean up.  Guess what?  It hasn't been cleaned up.  In fact it is worse, in the mink barns the muck is ankle deep, the flies and maggots are awful.  The feces are piling higher and deeper.

Not one governmental level is willing to look into the fact that the judge doesn't want uphold all laws, are there other laws that he picks and chooses not to uphold?

Not one newspaper, TV station, no one is willing to help us do an investigative piece.  HSUS and USDS has been provided with every piece of evidence they have asked for.

They ask for receipts proving he is more than a hobby breeder, they have been provided (with over 500 animals, I don't think he qualifies as a hobby breeder)  we need statements from people who visited, we provided them, EVERYTHING that we have been asked for, they haven't done a thing, USDA was suppose to do an investigation and file a report on the place in March, it still hasn't been done.

Why are conditions like this allowed to continue?

Why can't we do something to help?

A group of shelters have a plan in place, we can quarintine, do the whole rescue, only if we get the opportunity.

Maybe we should say they are a bunch of chickens, pigs, and puppies.  Seems the only way that HSUS will help.

When the few volunteers we have are all together cleaning we, have some very interesting conversations.  We agree to disagree on many topics.

One that came up (again) was why Cleveland is going to spend FIVE MILLION dollars to re do an old baseball field.  Yes, we know it is part of history, but think about it.

With five million dollars, they can add a couple more police officers to each district, mayber improve some on the conditions in the different district buildings or

With five million dollars they could purchase a new hook and lader truck for the east side neighborhoods rather than take the ONE hook and lader truck from Station 42.  Heck they could even hire a few more firemen or

With five million dollars they could put it into a failing school system, who's CEO that was wined and dined, but has not shown much of an improvement in the system (remember the large amount of failing seniors?).  But the man can work a crowd and camera.

With five million dollars the city could hire a couple more social workers, the ones that are working for the city now are over worked, and cannot give the proper attention needed for each case.

Five million won't solve the cities problems, but there are BETTER ways to invest it.

Then we were trying to figure out how much the city is spending to support the Cavs.  After a few minutes we all decided, it probably is better we don't know, because we all know there are better ways to spend our tax money.  Yes, I live, own a home and work in Cleveland.

Again, just those stray thoughts.  No answers really just lots of questions.

You did not know that did you.

A week ago Saturday literally hundreds of classic cars showed up at the IX Center to register for the Hot Rod Magazine's Annual Power Tour.  Not one word was mentioned anywhere, and Cleveland's Department of Tourism missed the boat big time.

People came in from all over just to start the tour in Cleveland, Canada, California, and Florida.  In all of the cities the cars were met the Cruisers were met with open arms, tourist money to be spent, and trust me these folks spent the money.

Hotel rooms filled to capacity, restaurants dished out the food, local attractions, they all got in on the money that was being spent, all except Cleveland +.

The Cruisers were met by the cities with bottled water, maps, items showing points of interest, lists of restaurants, people lining the streets to watch the parade of classic, custom and muscle cars drive or trailer by.

I just do not understand.  The tourism people will blow thousands of dollars on ads and campaigns and such, to bring people into the area.  However, when they literally have something in their own back yard, do not do a thing to promote the city or the area as a place for people to come to as a destination spot.

This Cruise had some big sponsors too, FLowmaster, Eaton, Elderbrok, Comp Cams, Mobile, Turtle Wax, and the list goes on http://www.hotrod.com/powertour/ .

Now I am not saying I have all the answers, because I do not.  I am not saying that this would be a business saving thing, cause it isn't, but since many of these people do vacation, and some are business owners, wouldn't it have been a good idea that Cleveland - (oh sorry I meant +) gotten involved and perhaps tried to encourage people to come back to this area?

 Just a stray thought.

Everyone knows that just boycotting all gas purchases for one day really does nothing, because either you buy your gas the day before or the day after, and the gasoline companies laugh at us.

After seen a local BP Station have their gas at $3.49 one day and the next it goes to $3.69, then down to $3.29, all in a matter of 72 hours I got to thinking, there has to be away to get the message across to these companies.  A boycott is a good idea, just not for one day and not all stations.

As consumers we need to hit one manufacture and not for a day but several months.  They are reporting record profits, and telling us that the reason for the high prices is the breakdown of refineries, or natural disasters, or the splinter the President of the Company got. I still find it difficult to understand how gas in the ground already invoiced and billed at one price, is constantly raised and lowered. Why is it that in Ohio we are over $3.00 a gallon while in other states it is lower, and still other states it is higher?

Therefore, as a consumer, and a concerned US citizen, I am asking you to forward this and join me in boycotting BP Oil suring the months of July, August and September, prime vacation season. If that does not get the message through, then we can continue the boycott another month, and another and another untill it effects their record profits.  Hit them in the wallet, no family, no person should have to decide between putting gas in their vehicle to go to work, or putting food on the table. I as one individual boycotting BP will not hurt them, but we as a Nation of consumers can if we unite. Please join me in boycotting BP Oil, please forward this and ask your friends to join and together we can let them know that we are tired of being taken advantage of.

Ok, last night was interesting, and with the animals in my life, it takes a bit to get me say it was interesting.

A neighbor comes knocking at my door, "There is a bleeding deer in your back yard.”  I reply "HUH?”  He restates what he had just said, and I go out back to see.

There is a wounded deer standing next to my husband's truck, behind the shelter's minivan.

Ok, call our vet, Dr. Krupka, yeah he will treat it, tells me how we have to catch her.  Personally, I want her darted.  The shelter will be responsible for her, but I am not transporting a deer that is fully conscious out to Avon Lake.  We get her taken care of, and then we can release her on a friend’s property.  Sixty acres of woods.  (BTW, the vet was 45 minutes away and on duty)

Call Animal Control, no answer, on the machine it says call APL.  Call APL, the young woman informs me they do not come out for that stuff, call the Wildlife people.  The place they are telling me to call closes at 5:00 PM.

Now I am desperate, people are walking into the yard letting their kids approach a wounded animal.  IDIOTS.  Hubby is getting them out.

I call the news desk at Fox, and the young man who answered tried his best to come up with help.  Unfortunately, Mr. Goddard is on a well-deserved vacation, and no one had access to any of the rescue numbers.

Ok, now I am desperate.  I call a friend who has had helped with wild life before.  Yeah, they have nets and have dealt with a few deer on a friend’s farm, they are willing to help.  They even can sedate her for me.  Help is on the way.

In the meantime, while I was on the phone, and hubby had just walked inside, someone approaches her and she spooks.  She was last seen running south on Woburn, in Old Brooklyn.

My biggest problem with the whole thing is even trying to do the right thing, granted it was a very rare occurrence, I was not able to get any help, second is the fact people assume they can just walk into someone's yard when they please if there is something interesting going on.  Both I find very disturbing, and a case for privacy fencing.

There will be one at the Blessing of the Cars being held in the Home Deopot Parking Lot on Brookpark Road, in Brooklyn, Ohio.

It is a 1988 Pontiac Trans Am, Knight Rider KITT conversion based on season 3 episode "Knight Of the Drones".

Plus there will be other cool cars.

Over the last few months, I have been covertly working on trying to convince the breeder in Marengo to clean up, and either stop breeding or clean up. You see, every year two maybe three times a year, I would stop and visit and look, chat and offer help to clean, well the offer to clean up the place stopped three years ago. It was always refused, it was fruitless to continue offering, but I kept calling authorities after every visit.

To see the conditions, check out:  www.ferretsunlimited.org on the front page.

Why are you picking on this man? He is sick! Do you want to see him in jail? What is wrong with you? Questions the ferret community asks daily, some even defend the conditions. These people are well known and respected in the ferret community.

No, I do not want to see a sick old man in jail. This time he really is sick. His daughter and grand daughters are running the farm. The one grand daughter over bred, accidentally. There were two hundred litters this year. TWO HUNDRED!

If these conditions were at any shelter, it would be expected and should be that the shelter close and the operator answers to the law. If it were in anyone’s yard, the same would happen. If it were in any home and this came to light, prosecution would be the only thing that the community would accept.

Every year the story was the same, now mind you it has been since 1995. He was sick, accidentally over bred. Too many of the kits survived. He did not anticipate such large litters.

One year, early on there was a slight difference to the stories. He took the stock of another breeder from Maryland. The man got out of the ferret breeding business. Guess what? He was telling the truth.

What makes this so different? Is it because of the group of people who have banned together to make a difference? On the other hand, is it because he sells breeders? I have no answer for that.

Here are some facts, he was USDA licensed in 1996. He sold kits to small pet stores in Northern Ohio with the help of a woman who believed in him and his breeding techniques. In 1996, two kits from the group of over 650. SIX HUNDRED FIFTY KITS folks. Two came down with distemper. Because of the two with distemper, all of the kits had to be sent back to the farm with him. No one knows what happened to all those babies. To this day, she sees the eyes of the kits as they were loaded back into the truck in her dreams. Being driven off to an unknown fate. Yes, a vet saw them both.

Since 1995, I know of three groups that have offered to help this person clean up the grounds and do repairs. All they had to do was supply the needed materials, and legally dispose of the feces and garbage. Each of these groups were told no.

Then pictures surfaced, and others that were willing to speak out. People from other states, very few Ohioans that have been there have stepped forward. I hear from many people, "This is awful, something should be done." Well, we are trying, but without help from people who have been there, nothing is going to happen. This will become a big joke, and Ohio’s dirty little secrete will continue as it always has since at least the 90’s.

Do you know what the saddest part of this whole thing is? The whole thing is much bigger than just the ferrets. It is way beyond just the ferrets. Does anyone think that those piles of feces on the ground are healthy? They use well water in that county, and it gets into the ground water. What about the standing water and West Nile, not to mention the piles of boxes, beer cans and junk, perfect breeding spots for rodents, fleas, ticks, and bugs. Oh, wait, is that what all of the feral cats are on the property for? Rodent control? People love to dump cats in the country, and this place is no exception. Not to mention many are probably still whole and making babies. (Now, the cats are NOT the fault of this “farmer” they are from other irresponsible individuals.)

It is awful, but no one will get involved. (You know might ruin that reputation or something). The thing that people do not realize is the problems that have been un surfaced because of this issue.

Did you know that the County of Morrow County has a judge that says animal neglect and cruelty cases are a WASTE of the court’s time? Did you know that there are animal cruelty cases that have been sitting for two years, waiting for a court date? Did you know that Morrow County treats its Humane Society as if they are the rotten, nasty red headed stepchild everyone hates?

So not only are we fighting for the animals on this “farm” but for every neglected and abused animal in that county. Every cat, dog, horse, bird, cow, pig. GET THE PICTURE?

Here are a couple of other interesting items that may peak some interest of the folks here in Ohio. I received an email from a Morrow County Health Official. “There are no laws pertaining to ferrets.” The Humane Society there does not believe that companion animal includes ferrets.

Wonder how many other places look at the Animal Cruelty Laws in the same manner? The HSUS can say an animal is considered a companion animal, but they do not make laws.

The Ohio Statue on Animal Cruelty Citation: OH ST § 959.01-99, Citation: R.C. § 959.01-99
Item four is aimed at non-companion animals. Moreover, Confinement with no exercise is wrong for any animal. IN MY OPINION.
(4) Keep animals other than cattle, poultry or fowl, swine, sheep, or goats in an enclosure without wholesome exercise and change of air, nor or [sic] feed cows on food that produces impure or unwholesome milk;

The wholesome exercise is what gets me here, isn’t it just about EVERYWHERE written that ferrets need playtime OUTSIDE the cage, at least two hours???

The following is where it gets good.
959.131 CRUELTY AGAINST COMPANION ANIMAL
(A) As used in this section:
(1) "Companion animal" means any animal that is kept inside a residential dwelling and any dog or cat regardless of where it is kept. "Companion animal" does not include livestock or any wild animal.
Now, when I read this statement “Companion animal" means any animal that is kept inside a residential dwelling and any dog or cat regardless of where it is kept. " It translates in my little warped mind, any animal that is kept where a human lives. Nowhere does it specify a cat, dog, bird, fish, reptile, sock, or shoe. It does not specify a species.

However, according to several different counties, IN OHIO, it does not include ferrets, but it does include gold fish, parakeets, hamsters and other animals.

Therefore, I try to find out if I was interpreting; the law correctly was to write my State Senator in Columbus. Wouldn’t you know, I have not gotten an answer.

Guess our politicians are very much like other people of this state. Don’t want to get involved. It is that reputation thing again. Cannot have it tarnished you know. Oh my, what would voters think if I got involved in a ferret thing? Oh heavens.

Even people I know, I hear the same damn thing. That is awful, what can I do? Write a damn letter, and keep writing. Is that so hard? Write one on the computer, print it out once a week, and mail it. Email it too. Once a week. GET OFF YOUR DUFF!! Get involved. Write a letter.

Oh wait, did I hear that you do not know the addresses for the Ohio Senators? Here you go, email and fax numbers too. So what is the excuse now?

Yep, a little upset here. Shelter operators are blamed if a place like this is not closed down; people get pissed if it does. People get mad we cannot close a pet store down because we have no legal power, but they get mad when we try to make change.

Oh, another six have made it off that farm. To the vet Friday to be altered. Chipped, shots.

This is a breeder located in Ohio. Over the past 10 plus years, several people of the ferret community have reported the conditions that the animals are kept in.

Dead ferret

This time was no different. The Health Department went to inspect, they told him to clean the feces that lays piled ankle deep. They couldn't have walked the farm very long or far. There were dead animals. There are usually dead animals there.  Dead animals just laying there to rot.

There are also feral cats, more than you can count. This time, thanks to a group of ferret folk from Michigan, there are pictures and receipts to prove he is selling the ferrets in mass to breeders and individuals.

It seems that a judge in that area doesn't think that this is worth prosecuting. He can't be bothered with little things like this.

Want to help? Contact your local media, talk to anyone who will listen, give them the contact information for the shelter, I have been there. I and several others have tried to do this the legal way, the right way, but no one hears the plea. These pictures are the honest truth, I have been there. I have seen. No, I did not take these photos, nor will I tell who did, but they are from a trusted, honest person.

Ohio's local and state government has fallen short, way short. They won't listen to me, they won't listen to people from other states, they won't listen to others from Ohio. Maybe if enough people put pressure on media all over the country, and they start applying pressure to the government, something can and will be done.

Why am I not posting the address here? I don't want to see the animals released, ferret or mink. They are near a highway and many animals would die. The woods have traps set in them to deter trespassers bears.

I and others stand at the ready, we have an evacuation plan in place, record keeping, pictures, triage, and temporary housing for quarantine. All it takes is a call from an official. We are willing to go in and do all the work with the animals. We know ferrets, we all can deal with what they do.

I can make sure proper pictures are taken, labeled so they can be used in court and they will stand up. So please, help us, help those in Michigan, Ohio and other states that are trying to shut this place down and get the animals to a place where they will be well cared for and into forever loving homes.

Thank You,

Jean, Director of Ferrets Unlimited Ferret Shelter

Currently Ferrets Unlimited is currently rated #10. Not to bad for a little local shelter!!

Mind you ASPCA is in this group as well as some really awesome groups.

Did you know that there is a group called Modest Needs? They do one time grants to families that find themselves in tight spots.

There are some really great orgainizations on this list, some I didn't know were around!!

Check them out, you may find a group you didn't know was there that is a group that you want to become involved with.

Squidoo is a a really cool place to check out, you can build one page websites on your favorite subjects, and you can find lots of great information on stuff too!

Great ideas for dinners, costumes, craft ideas for kids, information on lots of non profits, and small businesses that have some really cool items.

Animal abuse. What he did comes down to abuse.

I was very disturbed when I heard about the doctor at the Cleveland Clinic. However, you do know that nothing is going to happen. Bad doctor, bad Clinic, slap on the hand, do not do it again.

Let’s show a bunch of salesmen how something works. Well, first, if the salesmen were worth their salt, they would have already had an idea, and if they are not the salesmen from the company that sold the device, they do not need to know how it works. The medical supply companies TRAIN their sales people BEFORE they go into the hospital. They know how their products work, and if they do not, then I would not be purchasing anything from that company.

I see things from a different point of view. First, I know people who are in the medical sales field. All of them tell me that what happened is a big NO NO.

Now, we have the pig farm. The employees seem to be facing the worst of the charges. Personally, I say just close it down, and throw the owner in jail, for a long time. He is the one that should have been making sure things ran according to the law. He is the most responsible.

The employees are also at fault. You cannot hide behind, but it was my job, and I would be fired or any other excuse.

We have had animals come into the shelter thrown out of moving cars on 480, full of cigarette burns, beaten, abused, starved, abandoned in apartments and houses, left on my front porch to freeze in the middle of the night. It is enough to make you wonder how long that the human race is going to last.

It is only a small step to go from animal abuse to human abuse. Many psychiatric studies prove it.

FerretsUnlimited

Ferrets Unlimited is a no kill, 501 (c)(3) shelter. We have been in Cleveland for 12 years. To learn more about the shelter, check out our website, www.ferretsunlimited.org,
see some of our shelter kids. BTW, I grew up in Cleveland, and think it is a great city with tons of potential, and great people.
