Is there any way that we could try to use a little common sense when it comes to redundant postings?  I realize that everyone wants to start their own blog, but I just counted TWENTY TWO blogs about Jessie Davis.  The vast majority of these had either 1 or 0 responses added to the original posting.  Is it too much to ask people to add their thoughts, prayers, speculation, whatever on one or two blogs, instead of page after page of "My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Jessie and Chloe" blogs. It's nice, but enough is enough!!

There wouldn't be 300 or so pages of blogs if we didn't have so many unnecessary ones about the "hot button" story of the moment.

Not trying to sound too grumpy, but c'mon!

Can you tell it's past my bedtime?

EXACTLY! Read my response to "Jessie's Family" by milh. I stated the same thing. I also stated this on cheri's blog, but I guess she got mad and deleted my comment!

I agree. I also posted a blog awhile back as to why there were literally pages after pages of scriptures people were writing. Each no less then 20 or more paragraphs long. Some people must just like to see their blogs posted. Evan if it’s the same as the five blogs before theirs.

I would have to agree with this blog. Remember all the smoking ban and gas blogs? Most bloggers were only one time/one issue bloggers who could have just as easily posted their less than paragraph of opinion/information in someone else's blog. Many don't even get responses.

Thanks Erock ! This is where I think Fox 8 needs to stop posting these to the community pages and post them on the message board. Kind of a filter for repeats. And Ellak you were right way back when. I did understand what you were saying. They should have a category for religious posts and I'm beginning to think political also. Post the news as it happens, breaks in the case, resolution, and know that all our hearts go out to Jesse and her family. Fox 8 can leave one post on the community pages for a week if need be until every soul has spoken their prayer or well wish.

Gorbash: Your kiding Right? Your blogs are one of the ones were talking about.

It may be one of the ones YOUR talking about, but not the ones MOST of us are talking about. I enjoy reading the blogs of gorbash, mark, stuman, etc. because they are interesting and/or informative and prodeuce discussions and opposing views. I DO NOT need to read 25 blogs on everyone wishing Jessie Davis well or the bible thumpers writing out 2 pages of scriptures - I can read the bible myself.

People can say whatever they want to. you can't just tell them not to start a blog that is what blogging is all about. C'mon!

I'm with you on this one Erock! Thanks for voicing what many of us feel. By the way, my thoughts and prayers go out to the Jessie's friends and family.

hereandthere-Thank You! It's funny these people think they own this blogging site! You people can't tell others what to do. They are all here for the same reason you are. Who cares if there is 50 blogs of the same. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT,THEN MOVE ON!!!! SCROLL ON!!!!

Erock,
Fox 8 chooses these posts right? Although it seems everyone I've written goes to the community pages I don't know that that is the standard procedure. Keep pounding away with posts of this nature and sooner or later Fox may take heed. They are suppose to be read these before they make it here so maybe they can divert some to the message board. I haven't seen as much Scripture lately ! Doing well Ellak. And yes, some of Gorbash's blogs are long, but I've never seen one that was mimicked or piggy-backed off someone elses. What I respect about him is that not only does he believe in what he says, he knows why. I don't always agree with him, but if we lived in a society where everyone agreed, we be like a bunch of drones. The Gov. may like that but not I. You guys ROCK man..You too Girlscout...And blog on everyone, just don't feel slighted if you don't make the front page!!

Ellak- Thanks for your words of support, very kind and encouraging.
Erock- Thank you also for your defense of my blogs, I realize sometimes they are too long, and I should try to condense some of my arguments and information, but sometimes I just can't. I really do try to come up with my own ideas and arguments.
To those who want to post blogs about topics that have 10 of the exact same blogs, I'm not trying to force you to stop! Please reconsider though, it is more reasonable to post a single sentence or two on a similar blog, than on an entirely seperate blog, it takes less time and energy, and it makes more sense to do things this way. Convincing someone that the way they are doing something is counterproductive or bad, is not trying to silence them, its trying to convince them to change. Just because person can do or say something, doesn't mean they should. You are well within your rights to post 5 of the same blogs about the smoking ban, gas prices, and the latest missing white girl news story, but that doesn't mean you should do that.

What some will complain about!!! It's sad that a terrible terrible crime was committed and we have some that are more worried on how many time a post is written. Who cares if they write their own post or add to anothers. Geez are you that upset that your space was being taken up for something that is important and affects just about every mother or human in here!!!

Perhaps it is deeper than that.... I think the media has been SO inundated with this story and it has been repeated and repeated a million times - then, you come here to look around and see what is of interest - it is just too much. This is not the only story that has been talked to high heavens. Anything out of the ordinary in "news world" just saturates every inch of TV, papers, mags, whatever. I think that is what some are feeling. I hope that Bobby Cutts gets what he deserves and more. He is a pig. I knew this a week ago. I don't have to hear it or read it 24 hours a day. If this were my daughter, I know that I would die myself. It is just unspeakable to think that someone could do something like this to a beautiful girl and baby. Sickening.

Well, if he goes to prison, at least he won't get any more women pregnant.

Holy crap, where do I begin?!

Madskills: I wasn't referring to gorbash's blogs, or even the long blogs. I'm talking about the redundant repetitive ones.

Angelbluz and survivormom: You're welcome to your opinions, but nobody is saying that they own this site, and I didn't even propose a rule against starting a new blog on a recycled topic. I simply requested a little common courtesy, an ideal that you may or may not be familiar with. I DO scroll....and scroll....and scroll....and scroll... What is so hard about leaving your comments on one of the existing blogs about THE VERY SAME TOPIC?? The importance of the topic is completely irrelevant. One blog or 50 blogs, the amount of information can be relayed in a much more "user-friendly" & efficient way, i.e. less clutter and confusion over which blog you're following, etc.

If there IS some important information to share, it would probably be missed anyway, as most of us quit reading the repetitive blogs after the first couple, if we even make it that far.

Thanks for the supportive comments from the rest of you. I'd like to think I'm not the only one who feels this way.

BTW: As of this time, the # is up to 34 blogs (and counting, I'm sure) about the sad story.....and the salt in the wound is that Fox 8 just bumped this very discussion off of the main blogging page so that they could squeeze another "Jessie Davis" blog (FIVE OF THEM, actually) onto the front page. Thanks, guys!

..I wonder what's on Channel 3....... ;-)

Married father of three. I love sports, nature, most types of music, and I'm an aviation enthusiast. I'm a moderate-thinking no-nonsense kind of guy who HATES excuses. I can't stand most of the Hollyweird pop cultural garbage being spoon-fed to this country. I'm frustrated by people who can name every American Idol finalist but have no clue who the Vice President of the U.S. is, and I'm bothered by the "Get out and Vote!" campaigns that want to send these space cadets to the ballot box! Did I mention that I like dark humor and sharp sarcasm?
