Pretty Dall's Blog

Why do i speak so much on race? Well lets see...It's always in my face. How come when I'm working a job certain people don't even want to speak to me and not because i've done anything wrong or because I'm a mean person no it's because I'm young and black and I choose not to wear a suit and tie and carry a brief case. I mean do I have to put on some glasses and wear some tight pants that flood when I sit down and do i have to listen to country music and pop rock to be accepted? Of course I would never do these things but isn't being a nice happy go lucky guy enough? I am very well mannerd and no I do not walk around laughing out loud and acting all silly. I am very friendly and if you take the time to find out then that is excactly what you will see. Like I said I have never caused harm to anybody but yet when I come around I can certainly feel the vibe. No one is stupid here so eihter I just look stupid or I just don't know. Why I'm I so threating when I haven't even done anything wrong? Why doesn't any one care? Why when I call for a job that I am more then quailified for I only get told about the B.S ones? Why do they pay me less for a job position and pay the white guy or girl more? Nothing against  foreigners but even they can come  over here and exspect to get paid more then me. It's like "hey your a nobody so why should we pay you what your worth". Now I know that i'm somebody theres not a problem there but what I also know is that no matter what I do I am being viewed as a nobody. Whats wrong with a person who doesn't have everything but they certainly work hard for what they do have. Racism comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors and to be able to capture and write about all of them in one blog would be impossible. All I want people to do is to just think sometimes befor they judge someone. Stereotyping is the worst thing ever that you can do to someone because then your not giving that person an even or a fair shot. Do not read this blog and think that i am singling any one specific race or group out; like I said racism comes in all different shapes, sizes, and colors. Even my own race can be racist against me at times but I choose to speak only on the young and black because thats what I am and this is what I go through on a daily bases.

I can not comment on most of your blog but I can comment on the part about being paid less than the white person. I want you to know that happened to me, and I'm a white woman. Not only did they pay the white man a dollar more an hour they expected me to train him! Needless to say I left that job because I was highly insulted. My insult was because he was paid more and I had to train him. Doesn't seem right does it? But I will tell you that I never thought of it as a man/woman thing. Did they pay him more because he was a man? Who knows. I never really thought about that aspect.

Your blogs are getting old! You just keep going on and on and on. Seems to me the only thing you are educated in or care about is the color of your skin... Try starting a blog about something that ACTUALLY MATTERS! The color of your skin, my skin, and everyone else's is just worn out.

The men at my company seem to get raises with little or haggling. Their starting wage is also considerably higher than mine. It doesn't seem to matter how hard I work either. Oh! And never mention that my husband has a good job because then I really don't need any more money. On the subject of being a young black male and discrimintation. I work with several young black males. They are decent, hard working men. Their payscale is no different than the white guy working right along side him. It's called Equal Opportunity Employer. They all work as a team and nobody has racial problems at work. Sounds like I work at crazyville!

Schannel is giving off a racist vibe.

Race does matter, clearly this person is being discriminated against, if he calls up on the phone and can't get a decent job, that is saying something about discrimination.

To ignore racism only makes it worse.

The best way to smash racism, is to confront it directly with non violent action and speaking out about it, many racists do not like when people talk about racism, because they don't want their bigotry challenged.

But you SHOULD wear appropriate attire to a job interview and work, regardless. I don't think that fancy clothes should be worn (I like Cintas uniforms- for EVERYONE) but its counterproductive and gives Right Wing Republicans an excuse to ignore your claims of racism.

I agree, Schannel is giving off a racist vibe. Dall has every right to post whatever he chooses. As you have the right to pass by them if you think his topics are old or played out. I suppose they must be only played out just enough to leave your one more comment right? Dall has mentioned that he is new to blogging/posting on Fox8. Therefore this topic is both new and important to him. Not to mention from many of the comments left by people, seem to be interested enough to leave a comment to dalls post. Racism comes in a large variety of forms, and it affects us all. Most importantly, it affects our young children when they hear evil racism from their families/parents. Teach our children well, teach them racism is evil so we cane give them a chance and future. The legacy we leave behind should be one of love and morals not the evil of racism.

I had taken a class online for my degree and it was called "Women Across Cultures" The some of reading I did and found it to be very racist. Against women and men. More so women. Women are paid less than men, regardless of the race, or if they have a better education than a man. This is really a man's world. Racial issues will not change no matter what happens in the world. Not only to the blacks, the hispanics, asians and even whites. I understand what your saying Dall. My husband is black and I am white and our son is biracial. HE is 21yrs old and the racial remarks we got being together for 23yrs. So, I understand and really feel what your saying. Very hard to be in your situtation. My husband is 60yrs old and he thinks a little different than other men, due to the changes he has had in life. No one should ever treat another human being disprepectful regardless of their race. WE ARE HUMAN PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!

Ellak i like your style!!!
but racism very much exist and dateline has done studys and aired the results to the world blacks can't jobs for reason that have nothing to with the job such as our names, neighborhoods and high schools we attended.
and those are just some of the reason
so when black indivduals such as dall and me talk about racism its cause we live it everyday and those are some of theings we have to keep in mind to make sure we avoid racism and to make sure it does not stop us from doing what we are trying to achieve!

If you really want to put some things to the light, Black Women are very mean to white women who date or married to black men. I have had many runs in with them. I do not look at black people for their color. I look at them as a man or woman. NOw if they want to act stupid or ignorant than I feel sorry for them. It is not about the white woman stealing the black man. The whole situtation is a man and woman being together, because of the chemistry and what they have in common and what brought them together. YOu cannot help who you fall in love with black, white, asian, etc... People should love one another regardless of their race, nationality. I just do not see what the problem is. If your happy who you are with, then god bless you and your spouse, partner. Whatever makes you happy then go for it. The race issue needs to stop and until people realize how they are treating one another and look at the real issue, WE ARE HUMAN.......

Just think your child and they are treated different because of their skin color. You see their face how disappointed they are and cannot figure out why they are not liked? You try and explain and your heart hurts because you cannot protect them against the world. You want to, yet you have to let them grow up, because so many people are mean and do not realize how nasty they sound to a child. I hope no one ever has to have their child go through something like that. Broke my heart when my son went through it and he still is, because he looks hispanic, Italian, yet he is biracial, although he says he is black, because he is going to be treated for his skin color no matter what intelligence he has. Very sad.

Thank you for the very kind compliment.

I am very aware racism still exists today. This is why racism and racist need to be exposed whenever possible. Racists are generally cowards and hate being exposed for their evil ways. Racism can end if we all stand together and expose these individuals found in every race. Every race has their fair share of racists, more important is the fact that all races have more good people then bad, so we already have the upper hand on dealing with the racists in numbers, as long as we all
stand united and expose those who spread their evil Venom. Our children who are the future can learn from us that racism is wrong and immoral. people can change as long as we stand tall together as Americans United, not Americans united standing on the sideline acting as if it does not affect you.

I agree with Dall! There is alot of racism in the world today and it needs to be talked about. The WORST thing we could do is ignore it and sweep it under the rug.

I am seeing the racist side of schannel come out, too. I think she'll be the next Johnny/Pablo.

I also understand the point of your last post. Even though I am white, I still get pissed off at some of the people who are supposed to "represent us" so to speak. Like politicians and people in the media and even on these blogs that are racist and very ignorant. Don't let them get to you. Be yourself. The gaol of these "trolls" is to spread hate and make people feel bad. I think I'll start a post on racism and prejudice and discrimination and some definitions to keep in mind.

I'm sorry hillbilly67 because you still have some twisted views. How can you sit up here and try to act all innocent when on other blogs you've made insensitive comments against black people such as to say quote "so what their ancestors were born in Africa and that they were not" Your children still have a right to know where they've come from.

I myself agree with you when it comes down to interacial marriges and that love may not have a skin color now as far as it being for me it's not I happen to only love the beautiful black woman but thats my opion.

Also it hurts my heart to have to know that your children will face this racist world the same as I have to and the same as my daughter will have to.It will never stop because in this world there are evil people of all colors and cultures.

Hey I might of worded one of my statements a little unclear I quote myself "I choose not to wear a suit and tie and carry a brief case" when I said that what I was meaning is that on my own leisure time I will not do this but of course I will dress up for a job I mean come on now give me more since then that. To let the record be straight I have worn a suit and tie to many job interviews, some I got and some I didn't.

I don't disagree with what you're saying. In fact, I don't think you can even talk about the experience of being "American," without (unfortunately) race being a facet of that (pitifully, it wasn't properly taken care of in the Constitution when it was drafted). BUT, I think it is occluding your view of what is going on, and many other folks. I'm a middle-aged white guy. I work off of I77, just south of town, where things are BOOMING. The Indians and other 3rd worlders are in here, making $50+ an hour and COMPLAINING about it (the wages in europe are better, they say). Hmmm....what the hell is going on in OUR country? You and I.....we are like two little bugs arguing over a crumb, while a the shadow of a big boot descends upon us. -R. Vince

dal, I work surrounded by black men who make twice what I do & I am management. ALL the black men on our payroll make more money than ANY of the white people here. ALL of them. How do you KNOW that you are the most qualified candidate for a job you're interested in? Do these prosepctive employers tell you this? How do you KNOW that some underqualified "white guy" got the job instead of you? If you're not getting the jobs you desire, maybe, just maybe, you are not qualified enough, or you are not making a good first impression on the interviewer. First impressions ARE important. If you're showing up for an interview unprepared, improperly dressed & being all "casual", you'll find yourself in a job that fits the interview, or not one at all. HR professionals expect to be impressed. They are the first one's who see you & have an opportunity to "check you out". If they are not impressed with your knowledge, qualifications & general presentation of who you are, they keep looking for someone who fits the "criteria". That IS the way it works. So, work the system & sell yourself.

I am sorry Dall you feel my views are twisted. You did not read what I was saying. I have no problem at all for anyone to find out where they came from. What I was trying to say was if your born in america then your considered black american? What our backgrounds are completely "heinz 57". For instance I am cherokee indian, dutch, german, irish, english, yet I am white.

Yes, children are inocennt and people treat them so different. Because of their skin color. I will tell you my husbansd, son and myself were renting a car yrs ago and when I walked into the place of renting the man behind the counter was all talkative and nice the minute my husband(being black) walked in he changed his attitude and told me that all the cars were rented. I stated to him I talked to the owner the day before and I will wait for him. I was so mad and only got a taste of what my husband of his 60yrs went through with people who are racist against black. Sad people have to treat human beings that way.

dall, all i can say is grow up. funny, if a blog doesn't make sense to you, or isn't all about YOU, you actually think that you have a right to tell some woman (who is old enough to be your mother) in a VERY disrespectible manner by the way, what SHE can & can't write about.......maybe you aren't a VICITM of racial discrimination after all, maybe you are the CAUSE of your own problems. Didn't your parents teach you more respect than that? Not EVERYTHING is all about you & your silly rants wahhhhhhhh wahhhhhhhhh get over yourself already.

I too agree. Racism is alive and well, and existing wherever you go. Some just don't care who knows, then there are the racist that are
pretenders. Of course until you have been faced with racism, whether your short, fat, mentally ill, handicap whatever is different about someone, we all suffer in one way or another. It is lack of knowledge or ignorant narrow minded people that can't see the forest for the trees, and think it is okay to treat anyone, anyway they want. Well that is not exceptable. Society is not just made up with perfection . No matter what it is.
EXAMPLE: Our 21 year old son and his teenage
brothers and some other friends went out to the
Blossom Music Center to the Haunted House 2 weekends ago.Of course everyone should feel
welcome, no matter who or whatever your circumstances are. Everyone pays their money to go where they go. There was an incident where a Black man and his family had parked their car and went in to view the Haunted House. Upon arriving back to their SUV to leave
their 2007 vehicle had been damaged. It had been keyed from the front bumper all the way to the back with the "N" word.In BIG BOLD LETTERS... Of course the parking attendants were assigning parking spaces, but of course no one claims to have seen anything. So where does the ignorance lay? Going out for a eventful evening suddenly turn into the terror
of a nightmare. So you know what? No One feels they want to put themselves in harms way, and go where they're not welcome. So the positive thing to do would be go elsewhere. This is one of the most positive things one can do. I
