The strong, the brave , the Proud.....the Marines. Really? well not today! So is this the new way we train marines- teaching them to grab babie, defenseless puppies to hurl them over a cliff? Was he taunting Iraqie children? an Iraqie family?  Surely this marine would have known this video tape would get viewed- is that why he did it? to get out of   the marine corp with a dishonourable dischage to get out of the war in Iraq? To save his sorry ass?  This so- called marine is nothing short  than  a cold, heartless COWARD !  A shame, an embarrassment to his commander, his platoon,  and to the Marine's. how can I support my troops if they do such acts of cold heartless cruelties? I know - it was only this marine and those with him( who did the video taping- you can't tell me he wasn't in on this poor puppy's horrific death). shamefull. cowards!!! Court martial is too easy an out for this coward. if I was in his platoon- he would get the " top blanket party ever ". of the year!  this marine , if he were my son, would not be welcomed home to me, he is an embarrassment, I would hang my head in shame and cover my face. He has brought  America low, and embarrassed, and disgraced the marine Corp, his platoon and comrades in arms, his commanders, his America of these United States. he has spit on this country and brought shame to us all. no  ! court martial is to good for this coward...what he deserves is to have a commander like king David and what David did to Uriah the Hittite.  no keep himin the Corp- keep him in Iraq. He's a disgrace to this country and to the Marine corp. As is those who allowed this hiddeous act of barbaric cruelty. why didn't those there try to stop him from hurting that poor puppy who did nothing to deserve this. I wish I could look in his face- I would spit in it! Marine? hell no- a brutal heartless monster!  A  COWARD!! He should be PUBLICLY dishonoured - world wide! I am sending a copy of this letter to my Senator Sherod brown and Congresswoman Betty Sutton. this should be made aware to the President- for it really makes this Country look shameful- no honour , no bravery- just embarrassment! This so-called marine is a bastard!

I didn't see the video and from what I heard, don't want to see it.
Back when I was in the service, @ssholes like this WOULD have gotten a "blanket party"!!!
They are a disgrace to the uniform and their country!! Scumbags!!

It is also discusting how the news media loves this story. The bigger the shock value, the more they like it. Its ashame how low news "reporting" will go these days for a stinking rating point.

You go Cak!! I certainly feel your anger as well. That was terrible, and once you see it, it's hard to get out of your mind. You have a good idea about sending your letter, go for it. Hopefully something will come of it. Everything you wrote, I feel exactly the same way!! He is a disgrace, and a real BLEEP!!!!

Quarryshark! I totally agree with your point on the news reporting. It is an outrage! They certainly stoop low for ratings, and there is no excuse for that! Scumbags is certainly putting it mildly!!! Great blog to you both!!

You know the only excuse this army person has, as an excuse is that he has a mental illness; and the blame should go to management. If the army is pushing its soldiers this bad then something needs to be done before this gets out of hand. God bless you for this post, Karl.

People----I was a Marine with Vietnam combat service! Please do not think that all Marines are mental cases like this as@hole! He should be kicked out of the Corps and put in prison !

USM- of course I don't think all marines are like this coward. i would like to see him on public tv and stripped literally out of his uniform by his commander and escorted by the MP's to prison. i honestly think he did it on purpose to get out of Iraq & the military- because he is a coward- i think of the men & women who have faced death & some have fallen in Iraq, gave their all and this creep disgraces their sacrifice and honour and their memories. put him on the most dangerous missions! then if he lives- strip his uniform right off him- he does not deserve to wear it!

realitychk- i'm sure he meant marines-/ civilians who torture and kill animals are pushed with their evil hearts, no love respect for life, demon pocession, control , greed, to punish others...they do it for the monsters they are.

That is so true. You know what is really cool? When you pet walks up to you and looks at you with all the love in their heart. Now thats cool. To abuse,kill, torture any defenseless animal or any living thing is just wrong, and so NOT COOL

The sad part of this whole episode is the fact that not all people who are in the military do these acts. I know someone at work who's son is serving in the military and he is doing well. And I also know other people who have been in the military that are really good people too. If this individual was out in the real world, he would most likely do the same thing anyhow...and he would show the same lack of remorse of what he did.

My nephew is in the Army and is very much an animal lover. Marine or not animal abuse and torture is one thing that all serial killers have in common. It is also one of the first signs that there is something very wrong. Its not normal to want to cause harm to anything innocent.

tem... if you would read my blog correctly- I say " this marine & those with him"... no where do I suggest ALL Marines or those in the other military forces are animal abusers. one of my best friends at work - her son is going to Iraq- he is a good young man- this coward is NOT!!!please do not parapharase or twist my words, or add to them what I did not say.

I love Jesus, animals, , I have a good job that is very satisfying. I share my home with 2 cats & 3 dogs(1 rottweiler, he passed away Nov 1 2007/ 1 boxer mix, & australlian /blk lab mix)). 1 new cat
